Its the interruption. The mainreason why People hate Monsters like him is, they gonna constantly interruptet by something. The Tail, the Running, the Flashlight.... Its not fun, and you feel like an Idiot, ore Noob too get hit by this.
I think if it came down to the monster that kinda trained me into my self in MH it would definitely be rathalos. Every quest I had or even tried to do with him took a LONG time my first time fighting him it took me about 2 days to kill him because he would always fly and would kill me then I would have to restart the quest. Even till this day rathalos still gives me some trouble but yeah that was the monster that really trained me.
I really love Uragaan myself! I never got too far in Tri/3U mainly because I didn't understand any of what was going on and wasn't even able to play online until Gen, so recently I've been going back to play on my old 3U file, good times! Personally, I have a soft spot for all Brute Wyverns, and yes I mean all of them. Uragaan is a close second for me along with Glavenus, but Deviljho rules supreme! He is my spirit monster and on Gen he is my warm up monster like you mentioned with Gypecros being your own former warm up. No one ever wants to hunt Jhos or Uragaans with me though, it's so sad! I respect your list though, it's definitely different compared to most people in the MH community but it's good to be different!
My top 5 monsters are 5. Barioth ( Barioth was the first wall I hit in Tri and just for that it makes it on this list. Not to mention it’s a flying saber tooth tiger with an armored tail that can shoot ice tornadoes. What’s not to love?) 4. Nargacuga (Narga’s design is sleek and cool like the shadowy figure stalking you in the background waiting for its chance to pounce. The speed at which it gets around also makes it a fun fight to stay on your toes.) 3. Lagiacrus (Lagi’s design is just amazing and I have nothing but fond memories of my fights with this awesome Leviathan) 2. Ceadeus (his armor and Switch Axe though and the fight was fun even with HBG cheese) 1. Diablos ( its design and just ferocity when fighting you and I’ll never get over how unsettling Diablos’s scream is)

What do you think of Dah’ren? Also, the first monster that really trained me was tigrex. I still remember that one tigrex urgent from mhfu that took literally days to complete. He really taught me when to and not to attack and do consistent damage. And then narga came along and said, “Ima teach you how to dodge” and kept whooping my cheeks until I learned about the evade system. Those two were my sensei. I wouldn’t be as good today if they didn’t beat me up super hard in mhfu.
Dah is a better fight than Jhen but Jhen has a better feel to me. Diablos was that monster for me. He made me understand that this was his game and I was only just there
I love Rathalos He was my first wall and when I finally made his armor in 4u I never took it off till I made the hr version Then when I saw silver rathalos I lost my mind lol Diablos is my second favorite too
From descending order Chaotic Gore Magala- love the yin-yang vibe from it and its weapons Astalos- love the hybridised design of a dragonfly and Rathalos was also the first full set of armour I made Nargacuga- design and the way it moves and fights also the ninja style for the cat armour Toni-kodaki- even though it's not out yet I can tell I love it with its electric Nagra ass And finally number 1 ( imaginary drum roll) ........ Konchu jk Volvadon because love armadillos, pretty unique, the best fanged beast from trio and I like the style of fighting
I think "Uncle" should be an elder dragon. When I would fight him he was like a Deviljho to me. He was too powerful which is basically the description for an elder dragon. Right?
Do you classify Ukanlos as an Elder Dragon since it was the Boss of MHFU? If I recall correctly, Akantor was the Boss of MHF2 so the second generation was the only generation (released internationally) to not have an final Elder Dragon fight for both versions (Dos had Lunastra, if I recall correctly, but that was Japan only). MHGU/XX also didn't have a final Elder Dragon, though MHGen/X ended with one, so that's only three games out of the entire series (released internationally) to have a non-Elder Dragon be the "Final Boss". I have to give max respect for these monsters since they were so amazing and challenging that they were made "Final Bosses" without even being classified as Elder Dragons: supposed walking calamities. :)

Your not the only one who loves Najarala. I have his normal, and S Armor. It looks great, the Armor looks great and had decent Roar Protection I guess, im not an expert, and it was a fun fight. You can crush him, ore play safe. And he has very defined Attack patterns, I was allways aware what he want too do. 15:50 Likr me and the Hammer. I dont thought I would be good at it but after the double black Gravios whit Virus Mission.

Na, Najas Armor is fine. Earplugs and immunity too para. Nothing spectacular. And I consider it as an pretty easy fight. I fought him, for his Armor in High and Low-Rank, and so I can handle him pretty well. And its so nice too hear what people struggle who I laught at. No offense, but I want too be a good Player, and I think I succeedet. My tops include Seregios, Zinogre, Najarala, Kirin, Diablos, and on first Place Zamtrios.
This is why I love monster hunter nearly all opinions are different my fav is either nergigante or namielle (I have played the original they are awesome aswell) but my friends fabourite is legiana

Common people tend to like dragon stylized monsters or those who can offer an honorable fight. On the other side you love poisonous snakes and insects, didn't expect that. The list just lacks Gravios to be one of the strangest. However, Jhen Mohran is also one of my favourites cause the puzzle-design combat is well structured and never boring, with high levels of epicity.
Actually I have an idea for mh world. They should try putting Shah Dalamadur not Damaladur Shah, cause imagine the fight being much harder the way world is going for with all the mechanics. Shah, Jhen, Fatalis, and well I leave that one off. I think the look of the fight would be amazing and breath taking.
Monsters I can agree with: Royal Ludroth - admittedly a lower tier monster, but a lot of fun to fight, and doesn't look anywhere as dorky as his icon. Najarala - Better armor skills in MH4U than in Gen. All versions get Earplugs, Capturing bonus (which I do often), Highrank version gets Negate Paralysis, G-rank gets Tenderizer. Dalamadur - Not one of my favorites, but I took him down solo and it was epic. Ukanlos - He may not _technically_ be classed as an elder dragon (or as deadly as his brother Akantor, i.e. no Defense Down or one-shot wind tunnel attack) but MH4U's I beat his Urgent Quest in so easily it shouldn't have felt epic. I mean, literally everything in this hunt went absolutely right and I was done in just 20 minutes, solo. Monsters not on your list that would be on mine: - Kecha Wacha: A lower tier monster, but a lot of fun to fight, especially in netted areas. - Seregios: I was sold on this wyvern the moment I saw it flex out its scales. (which, ironically, was in MHGen.) A great and frantic hunt that is nothing like other flying wyverns. - Gore Magala: May not be an elder dragon (yet) but the centerpiece of MH4's story mode did not disappoint. He was my original 'brick wall' monster, the first one that required multiple attempts (and/or ragequits) before I actually got good enough to beat him. - Malfestio, Great Maccao, Mizutsune from MHGen. It did not add many 100% new monster designs but the ones it did are worth it. As for MH World, I haven't been following it much but the ones I want to fight are that new flying wyvern and that new spiny fanged wyvern (edit: Legiana and Tobi-Kadachi). Oh, and Kulu Ya-Ku.
My list is: -10: Chameleos (Chammy): I love the design and he is super cute. But I absolutely hate the tail you ant cut and the poison clouds. You cant walk through them, even with negate poison, which annoys me. -9: Great Jaggi (Krillin of Monster Hunter): The first monster I ever fought (Demo) and it was really hard to beat. Also he is super to calm down, because you know he cant kill you in your Grank armor. -8: Monoblos : My first High Rank wall. I like the concept, that he is Village-only, so others know you are decent at the game when you wear a full White Monoblos armor. Also is it funny to dash with the lance at him when he is running, jump and hit first -7: Seltas Queen: I love the Neopteron Monsters. The concept of the Seltas Queen abusing Seltas is also very cool. But I prefer the Desert Version (less charging) -6: Najarala: I like snakes. It has very cool para weapons and the coiling is very intimidating (except if you have aerial/Insect Glaive) -5: Shagaru Magala/Gore Magala (Shaggy/ Maggy): My first true wall. It made me learn other weapons aside from Switch axe and the shedding theme is interesting. It was also the first Rare 7 armor I made. -4: Astalos : I like the Design with the green and black. Als the dynamo theme is interesting. His weapons are absolutely gorgerous and he has a very, very different fighting style than his rival Rathalos (which I absolutely hate) -3: Nerscylla: I like Spiders. It has very cool armor, good weapons (especially sleep) and his fight is completly without unfair tricks. -2: Dalamadur (Urgent Snek): I really like sneks. He was my Grank wall (Ukanlos was not a big problem) and even thouh is fight is long, I never knew when it would hit me with one of his attacks which would nearly kill me. And he has a awesoe Switch Axe and a good chestpiece -1: Seregios (Steve)

Monsters I can agree with:
Royal Ludroth - admittedly a lower tier monster, but a lot of fun to fight, and doesn't look anywhere as dorky as his icon.
Najarala - Better armor skills in MH4U than in Gen. All versions get Earplugs, Capturing bonus (which I do often), Highrank version gets Negate Paralysis, G-rank gets Tenderizer.
Dalamadur - Not one of my favorites, but I took him down solo and it was epic.
Ukanlos - He may not _technically_ be classed as an elder dragon (or as deadly as his brother Akantor, i.e. no Defense Down or one-shot wind tunnel attack) but MH4U's I beat his Urgent Quest in so easily it shouldn't have felt epic. I mean, literally everything in this hunt went absolutely right and I was done in just 20 minutes, solo.
Monsters not on your list that would be on mine:
- Kecha Wacha: A lower tier monster, but a lot of fun to fight, especially in netted areas.
- Seregios: I was sold on this wyvern the moment I saw it flex out its scales. (which, ironically, was in MHGen.) A great and frantic hunt that is nothing like other flying wyverns.
- Gore Magala: May not be an elder dragon (yet) but the centerpiece of MH4's story mode did not disappoint. He was my original 'brick wall' monster, the first one that required multiple attempts (and/or ragequits) before I actually got good enough to beat him.
- Malfestio, Great Maccao, Mizutsune from MHGen. It did not add many 100% new monster designs but the ones it did are worth it.
As for MH World, I haven't been following it much but the ones I want to fight are that new flying wyvern and that new spiny fanged wyvern (edit: Legiana and Tobi-Kadachi). Oh, and Kulu Ya-Ku.

Hey I like Dalamadur also. I like Shah most but it is still Dalamadur
My list is:
-10: Chameleos (Chammy): I love the design and he is super cute. But I absolutely hate the tail you ant cut and the poison clouds. You cant walk through them, even with negate poison, which annoys me.
-9: Great Jaggi (Krillin of Monster Hunter): The first monster I ever fought (Demo) and it was really hard to beat. Also he is super to calm down, because you know he cant kill you in your Grank armor.
-8: Monoblos : My first High Rank wall. I like the concept, that he is Village-only, so others know you are decent at the game when you wear a full White Monoblos armor. Also is it funny to dash with the lance at him when he is running, jump and hit first
-7: Seltas Queen: I love the Neopteron Monsters. The concept of the Seltas Queen abusing Seltas is also very cool. But I prefer the Desert Version (less charging)
-6: Najarala: I like snakes. It has very cool para weapons and the coiling is very intimidating (except if you have aerial/Insect Glaive)
-5: Shagaru Magala/Gore Magala (Shaggy/ Maggy): My first true wall. It made me learn other weapons aside from Switch axe and the shedding theme is interesting. It was also the first Rare 7 armor I made.
-4: Astalos : I like the Design with the green and black. Als the dynamo theme is interesting. His weapons are absolutely gorgerous and he has a very, very different fighting style than his rival Rathalos (which I absolutely hate)
-3: Nerscylla: I like Spiders. It has very cool armor, good weapons (especially sleep) and his fight is completly without unfair tricks.
-2: Dalamadur (Urgent Snek): I really like sneks. He was my Grank wall (Ukanlos was not a big problem) and even thouh is fight is long, I never knew when it would hit me with one of his attacks which would nearly kill me. And he has a awesoe Switch Axe and a good chestpiece
-1: Seregios (Steve)
