By coincidence, I just yesterday sold my beloved 7D to KEH, and got a 7D Mk II instead, which should arrive in a couple of days. I'm really looking forward to putting it through its paces. As other folks have commented, any camera (or any piece of equipment, for that matter) is still relevant as long as it does what you need it to do. As a professional musician, I've put up with "planned obsolescence" from the musical instrument industry for decades. Yet, my favorite synthesizer of all time, the Ensoniq TS-12, lasted me from 1992 until 2020. 28 years of steady, reliable usage, even as the instrument makers continually pushed out new gear and technology each year. Similarly, my beloved OG 300D, which I bought in 2003, still does fine work for me. Besides the 7D Mk II coming soon, my camera bag has a 20D and a 1DX Mk III, plus a variety of decent lenses. Although the industry is moving toward mirrorless, I'm quite happy with my DSLRs, and don't see a need to invest in the latest hardware, since what I have is more than enough to suit all my needs. (Note: I don't do any video; only stills.)
I love my 7dmk2 its awesome! I upgraded to it a few months ago after coming from the original 7d, loved the button layout and build quality from both of these cameras. I do highly suggest to use a different telephoto with this camera, the 75-300mm is very soft sadly and has a ton of chromatic abberation and does not allow you to get the most out of your camera, in my experience and got rid of it very quickly.
I'm currently considering upgrading my 700d,and I'm torn between this and the 77d,I mostly shoot street and wildlife, occasional portraits and landscapes. Have you tried the canon wifi adapter in this camera? If so,what's your experience? Thank you!
I have not tried the wif adapter, so I can't comment on that. In terms of what to pick, since you do street photography, I'd go for the 77D. It's smaller, so it'll draw less attention 👍
Hi Christian! I've been watching your videos for months now and i just now got a question for you haha I'm just curious since i have a 77d and wanted ask you (with you being a 77d owner yourself) if the image quality of the 7d mkii is actually better or just about the same as the 77d. I've been thinking about getting the 7d mkii because of the dual card slots, but I'm not sure about the image quality difference when it comes to photography. Regards all the way from Suriname
Hi Vishal, sorry for the late reply :) So between those two cameras, the 77D *technically* has the better image quality, as it has a few more mega pixels, but the difference between 20MP and 24MP isn't something you can see, unless you really zoom in. The 7D mkII has more AF points though 🤔 I hope this helps, and thanks for the fact that you've been watching for months :) I'm currently in Transylvania, so greetings from here 👍
Normally the fault of the photographer and the settings in conjunction with the lens being used. I use mine for aviation photography and have no problems with AF shooting fast jets. Just did some research on settings and set up my lens accordingly 👌🏻📷 Great and very affordable single digit Canon. The 7D MK2 is a legend 👌🏻

Yeah, that is a common complaint when it comes to the 75-300mm :)

I've got the 7dii and the WiFi adaptor - it works great! No problems at all 👍
Loved your voice...Which mic did you use for audio in this ?
Thanks :) I think this was my current audio setup. You can view it here: skyes.io/RecordingSetup
I want to buy the sigma 18-35 but canons 16-35 is two dollars less but I heard you can’t use full frame lense on a apsc?
You certainly CAN use full frame (EF) lenses on Canon APS-C. It is Canon's own APS-C lenses (EF-S) that will not mount on full frame cameras
Great Video as always, totally underrated!
Thanks a lot :)
Is the canon 7d mark2 go for beginners?
Yes it is. It's old enough that you can probably get a decent price for it used, but still current enough that you can lean on it for a few years :)

Should i buy used one with 80k shutter count? For 500 usd
7d mk2 shutter is rated for 200,000 average clicks , so 80k leaves plenty of life left.
Ajánlod e természet fotózáshoz. Vadak, madarak.
annoying af
Correct. You are exactly that. 🤣
