SDF Macross (A-08 Part 1) "Do You Remember Love" (PS2)

- I finally pulled out my old laptop to record the rest of the Macross PS2 game. I'm a bit rusty and I was recording while watching 2010 Vancouver Olympics. I still pull off S ranks, but it's not as "stylish" as I used to be.
This is the fourth mission of the ARMD set of missions. Basically you run through the Do You Remember Love version of the story, but with a few "extra" missions, like this one.
This mission... it's not HARD to get S Rank, but you can't just rush in like Kakizaki. Anyway, the space battle, if you decide to go into the fray head first, there will ALWAYS be missiles locked onto you. The first wave your goal is to take out the Zentradi Power Armors. Then the Glaugs will appear with more Zentradi Power Armors. Feel free to use your canon if you want to cause you'll get full health and ammo when you get to the second part of the mission. The second part of the mission just keep fighting, use nukes if you wish, and once that capship appears nuke that. Then take out the rest of the enemy. There really isn't any trick to it.

I agree. This is the best Macross game to date. I wish they just built upon this formula. I mean it'd be cool to play through all the other Macross stories using this game engine. Add in a multiplayer mode that has versus and co-op and I'd be super happy.
This looks great, thanks for uploading it. I have the Saturn Macross game, but this looks a lot more advanced than that!
I think this is my favorite Macross game followed by Macross 30 on the PS3.

It's a real shame that every Macross game since Macross Ace Frontier (Or whatever the first PSP one was) hasn't changed one bit, gameplay wise. This game played a LOT better than those.

Best Macross game ever. Nothing on the PS 3 matches this one in terms of good controls, and good camera. Such a pity, coz all they had to do was to improve on the graphics of this game in line with next gen standards, and bingo. But no. Every Macross game since this one has been CRAP. I got the new My Boyfriend Is A Pilot game (the one that came with the HD remaster of DYRL) and it is so unplayable. SHITTY camera. Then I got the 30th Anniversary game. Also crap. Such a shame that I need to whip out my PS 2 when I want to play a Macross game.
I agree. This is definitely the best Macross game. I loved how though the game was arcade like, that they tried to implement some realism into the physics. Like how in gerwalk mode, if you were boosting forward, you couldn't boost upward as fast since the gerwalk's legs were being used for both. I think some things they thing they could add to the game is melee attacks and an ability to choose the target you lock on to. Some co-op and vs multilayer would be awesome. They should also give you less health, cause in this game you had A LOT. The ability to purge your Fast Packs and Armor Packs would be really cool as well. Like say you're flying the Armored VF-1 but then you decide that you're better off evading using speed vs just your head lasers, so you could just purge and then boost away. If they cover more Macross story then they should also add the ability to block so the VF-11 and later VFs could use their shields and pinpoint barriers. I also think one thing that almost all mech games have except zone of the enders is the boost limit. In this one while in battleroid mode you had a limit to how much you could boost. I think they should get rid of that cause it's pretty wierd for a VF which can do all those crazy high speed manuevers to overheat their engines just cause they want to boost upwards for a few seconds.

Yeah. It is a fun game for Macross fans. It is a pretty rare game but perhaps you can find an ISO online somewhere?
