Hotas was my first series s controller with rudder pedals. Enjoyed it so much bought a set minus rudder for my son. Best bang for buck. Now i use velocity one
I'm a brand new simmer getting ready for MSFS 2024. I bought a VKB Gladiator NXT Evo premium, Logitech quadrant, and Logitech rudder pedals. I hope it will be a good setup. I couldn't afford the Honeycomb Alpha, Bravo and Charlie. This is an expensive hobby lol.
Thanks. There was little doubt that FS2024 would support all the popular flight controllers (on both Xbox & PC). It was interesting to test them in the Alpha though.
Hudds ... Have the Hotas 1 and rudder pedals. Totally agree on the immersive experience you get with the Hotas. Also use the mouse for setting up navigation and approach and the controller for moving through Menus. Rudder pedals are a must.
I use the HOTAS1. It's usable if you put the soft side of velchro tape on the part under the throttle lever that is getting shoved in the case when using it, so the throttle is not as loose.
On 2020 had been using Hotas 1, but it developed issues which caused aircraft to roll one way or the other and crash if you took your hands off the stick. Also interfered with autopilot (causing it to disconnect). Have changed to velocity 1 flight stick and it is so much better and the flying is more enjoyable.
Thanks for the great content ! I am learning to fly on the sim better think i have mastered vfr etc and with your help its been easier to understand but in 2024 will hopefully master ifr etc. i am on xbox series x and recently purchased a keyboard and mouse :)
@@Huddisonno problem at all just alot of learning but i am able to use auto pilot now and to be able to set altitudes etc etc so getting there i suppose i am very good with landings too
I just purchased Honeycomb xpc and Bravo throttle quadrant but could not get the Xbox hub, then found out about the financial woes that Honeycomb are going through, I just hope I can find a hub 🤞🏻
Just priced the V one here in Aus. It comes in at $550 AUS. Can get online but the there is postage which works out about the same. I like the yoke concept with arthritis dictating lol. Thank for the guidance .
am using my honeycomb as long as possible but if and when the time comes I will rewatch this video thank you and can one still purchase logitec rudder pedals ??
@ I hope so. Stuff just arrived. I have absolutely no idea about planes, lets see I can bring an A320 into the air and back on ground in one piece :) Positive attitude!
On the velocity one my lights have gone out anybody got a fix for this.great video huddison. Anyone here with the same problem. I have the hotos and the capitains pack and the throttle quadrant. But I like using the velocityone just a shame the bottom half doesn't light up anymore.
I’m currently using the hotas 1 on 2020 it does the job and it’s a good stick for first exploration. When buying be aware you need the Xbox version not the ps4/5 I had bad experience with the turtle beach velocity one flight stick having to return 2 of them and eventually getting a refund. AVOID the Maxx tech combo for Xbox it’s too long here to explain but it’s doesn’t work as advertised. I was muttering on your dischord the other week about joysticks and people automatically recommending the most expensive units for people making their first exploratory steps in to flight sim. It’s better to get something cheap which functions well and has been used for successfully for years. If using Xbox controller on console, the biggest quality of life thing I bought was actually a WiFi keyboard and mouse. Trying to cold start a 737 using the controller to point at the switches is masochistic. For me apart from the obvious axis the most important control on the stick is a hat stick to control the in cockpit view
@@Huddison don’t get me wrong my missus would kill me if she found out how much I’d spent on joysticks for DCS 😂😂😂 probably more than I’ve spent on motorbikes over the years. I would advise though if you are in the game for a joystick get one now, when 2020 released there was a shortage and the prices practically doubled

It's a great starter controller.

As a new Flight-Simmer, You're all set to get a high-end experience my friend ;)
Smart move. You tested them, now you can be the first to recommend these products for FS2024. Well done!

Thanks for your share; yes I agree, Rudders really add huge immersion to the SIm.
I use the HOTAS1. It's usable if you put the soft side of velchro tape on the part under the throttle lever that is getting shoved in the case when using it, so the throttle is not as loose.
I use a rubber band criss-crossed over the throttle lever.
Yes! Especially for helicopters where you want the throttle to move slowly and stay put.
Have you opened it up to take out the detent?
No, I didn't want to void warranty. The velchro tape can be put on from the outside.
Velocity 1 flight stick for me. Very versatile.
That's another great starter Flightstick.

I really love my T16000 PC. Works so well for MSFS and DCS. Need a good bindings video soon.🤙🏻

You wonderful person :)
It really encourages me when folks say that they have developed their Flight-Simming skills thanks to my videos - thank you 🙂
Just bought a Thrustmaster hotas one for xbox via your link :)

You are most welcome to join us on future Group Flights.
@@Huddison that would be awesome 🤩 cant wait to play with keyboard & mouse and now the hotas one :) all from a Series x

I'll try to keep an eye out for one on sale for you.
There’s also the collectors edition hotas 1. That will be the one I’m getting. It’s kinda cool looking in white
Nice. It does look very cool.

The conversion for the V1 Flight seems about right.
Please could you do a video on how to do a full set up of the hotas one for Xbox. My settings are all messed up now 😢
For msfs 2024 xx
We have another one for xbox:
Thrustmaster TCA Captain Pack X Airbus Edition it's support Xbox/PC.
excellent vid
I’m interested in that Hotas, that will work with XBOX and PC?
Yes it'll work for both.
@ thank you
am using my honeycomb as long as possible but if and when the time comes I will rewatch this video thank you and can one still purchase logitec rudder pedals ??
Thanks Mike. The Logitech/Saitek Rudders are still available: amzn.to/4hAr6Ki
@@Huddison Thank You for the good news
Just start with this Sim. I ordered the Airbus Stick and Throttle from Thrustmaster and these Autopilot Control Thingy from WinWing. Hope, it works :)

Mine often does that too Eddie; I will have to look into why it's happening.

Hopefully turtle beach will work on Xbox
It will, no doubt.
The velocity 1 will work it's my favorite flight yoke just waiting to see reviews of 2024 on xbox x
Guys thinking about Xbox controller :
HOTAS like VelocityOne Flight Stick or YOKE like VelocityOne Or Thrustmaster TCA Captain Pack X Airbus Edition
Are you thinking of which to buy? Go with your heart and most fancied.
@Huddison Yoke gives me More realistic feeling, BUT Hotas hmm I'm think it's more flexible for ms flight, for elite, ever for NO MAN'S SKY.
