- Very first drive with Tesla Full Self Driving (Supervised) version 13.2.1!!! I have a 2024 Tesla Model 3 Long Range All Wheel Drive. This video is raw 1x with picture-in-picture commentary. I hope you enjoy! And don't forget to smash those like and subscribe buttons! Love y'all!
My specific settings for Tesla FSD are Hurry mode (there are three modes: Chill, Normal, and Hurry), Automatic Set Speed Offset with the maximum 50% offset (e.g. if traffic around me is going faster than the stated speed limit, Tesla FSD will match the surrounding traffic up to a maximum of 50% over the stated speed limit), and Tesla Navigation set to 1 minute (e.g. if Tesla Navigation's knowledge of up-to-date traffic data finds another route to my destination that is faster by 1 minute or more it will re-route me). Tesla Full Self Driving (Supervised) version 13.2.1 is hands-free and requires supervision by the front seat driver. The front seat driver/supervisor is monitored through the in-cabin cameras which require me to be in the driver's seat and keep my eyes on the road at all times. If I glance away from the road for more than a few seconds, the system will prompt me to look back at the road, and if I don't in a sufficient amount of time it will prompt me to put my hands on the steering wheel (what has been colloquially referred to as "the nag"). If I don't put my. hands on the steering wheel in a sufficient amount of time the system will disengage FSD and require me to take over driving manually for the remainder of that drive. This is all part of the Supervision status that Tesla FSD currently resides.

Got V13.2.1 this am and almost broke my phones screen hitting install.
Its truly amazing. No more goosing the car to speed up or be more aggressive. End to end, park, reverse... it's literally there. Smoother turns, and waaaay smoother slowing into stop signs without the stop creep stop.

I love to watch stress test on RUclips, driving places like New York City or Las Vegas. However, your video makes a really good point. This is the type of driving that will happen every day for the majority of people. I can’t wait till my morning commute as unsupervised 5min to highway 25min highway - 5min more to job. 90% of my driving.

It randomly does what it wants at the end of the drive. In a later version you will be able to select what it does at the destination. Park at door, park in a space , or drop you at the door then go off and park itself!

@ I had the most mind blowing experience using FSD. The newest thing is how smooth and confident the lane changes are. BUT, the biggest thing is the entry to my home. It’s a semi-tight U-turn followed by an immediate right hand turn. It did it!!! A bit slower than I’d like on the right hand turn but it’s a move I honestly never thought it would be able to do.
Also, recently got 13.2.2 and I took it from Memorial City to River Oaks at 5pm traffic. Absolutely no interventions. I can’t believe how much has changed.

Thank you JC for sharing this video. I also agree that V13 is a mind blowing tech for all drivers. Since I am living in South Korea, V13 won't be the same function like US version for a couple of issues. I hope Tesla will solve those issues soon for Korean Tesla drivers.

Just test drove a 2024 model 3 on Saturday. Was impressed with the FSD and the car in general. FSD did get confused at one point but it was a very chaotic situation. I never felt even a little unsafe with it. Model 3 will probably be my next car. Just sucks I have to wait a year and a half for my current lease to end.
That is great to hear about your test drive. But man that sucks to hear about the lease schedule. Don't hesitate to reach out with any questions you have about FSD or Tesla. Also, have you contacted the car company for your current lease to see what options you may have? I know alot of folks are in the same situation, so all they will likely do is try to get you into another one of their cars at higher price, I hate that. Honestly, that's one of the best parts about Tesla, no sales tactics. Thank you for watching and commenting!

@@johnchristopher7697 My wife got v13.2.2 on her MYLR last night but I’m still waiting for mine to show up, also a MYLR. Anyway we drove her car all day today and V13 was FREAKING AMAZING!!!! The only thing I had a problem with was “small” red cones blocking streets due to construction. It ignored them and I had to intervene. Other than that it was we were in a taxi!

Excellent tests. You don’t have wide open, perfectly marked California roads. More like what I have in my part of NC, good, but not great. It is feature complete from this one data point, but not feature robust as the red hands showed. Thanks for the video. subscribed!

I noticed something interesting when dealing with sun glare: The red hands only appear when the car is driving slowly (like when parking) or when it's about to start moving, not when it's going at high speed on streets or highways! The same experience happened to Chuck Cook.
Yes, that is almost always the case. The times I get red hands are almost always at complete stops or very slow with no other cars around. But yet I can have just as bad or worse glare going 45 mph with tons of cars around me and no red hands. It is clearly a safety mechanism dialed up to 11 right now. People forget that when we still had the "nag" it never happened. But just like everything in life, the past gets memory holed :-) lol. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Just tried out v13 in my Y and I also received the “Take over immediately” twice when it was attempting to back out of a parking spot. Must be a bug, because it was cloudy/rainy here with no chance of the sun glare causing the issue. I’m sure it’ll get patched up next update. Extremely impressed with it other than that.
Yes, that is a common complaint and they are working on getting the red hands for rain and sun glare issues. I just did nearly 2 hours of driving today with no red hands in both rain and sun (this is Texas so the weather can change every 5 minutes :-) lol), and will upload later today!

I made a joke the other day, when Starship lands on Mars for the first time, it will set perfectly on the surface within millimeters of its designated target, and then immediately the windshield wipers will start going back and forth for no reason :-) lol

On the second leg I think the reason it didn't park is that the car got confused with the signs for the two parking spots on the left. I believe the first on was for Handicap access.

I was thinking of just getting a normal service review of my cameras. But today I drove for nearly 2 hours in both rain and sun and no red hands. So sometimes I think it is just a safety mechanism that gets thrown up now and then. I am downloading videos of todays drives now and will get uploaded here later today!

The red hands only show up if you transition very fast from a dark area to direct sunlight at a low angle. The auto exposure seems to be unable to handle this transition efficiently, and thus the image is overexposed for too long.
Yeah, they seem to come up at the strangest times, like when I am literally at 0 mph :-) lol
You need to clean glass inside windshield in front of camera this has fixed problem on lots of cars. Tesla will clean it for you

Hey, you may have some gas in the front camera housing. It creates a strobe light effect at certain angles of sunlight. Have the service center clean it up, or watch some online videos. That ruined a nice clip for x. V13 is super capable. Wow

I think at the end it was actually going for street parking.
At the start it was going for the driveway but then "saw" the curb and went to try and parallel park. Could be wrong of course but that's my take.
I think you are 100% correct. I think it was going for street parking since technically that is where my address is pinned. But I have so many family staying at my house right now my Tesla was like “bro, is this a boarding house or your home?” 🤣🤣🤣

They are currently working on getting a version of v13 out for HW3 cars, and at some point they are going to do swaps (likely to Ai5 if you ask me, but I obviously don't have any real info) once the model just gets too big. But Tesla and Elon have already said they will do this for everyone who has FSD in HW3 cars. I know it's frustrating, I really do! But just keep the faith! And thank you for watching and commenting!

I have no ill intentions but to realize if FSD unintentionally made a mistake or not.
School was out. But also, the school zone wouldn't have started until about 15 minutes after I went through anyway. And totally no ill will felt at all. You are 100% correct that FSD needs to operate well in school zones. To be honest with you, it generally has already for me. But my honest opinion for why is that it is always so darn crowded during school zones. I mean, think about it, when is traffic going to be congested at a school and not allow you to speed up? :-) lol. It may be hard to test school zones here for a while since schools let out around here at the end of last week, but I will definitely do that in a few weeks when they get back in. I hope this yellow light issue is resolved for PA as we’ll because couple days ago I was dropping off my daughter and the car literally about to stop in the middle of the road because got so confused that should it go on yellow or not

Yes, I am definitely taking it to the Chick Filet sometime soon to see if that one area has better navigation. Unfortunately the navigation is completely different and based on Google Maps, so we may actually have to wait until this version 13 is completely cooked before they can take away some of the map data. But I going to definitely do it since it was one of the two places in Kingwood where the navigation was messing the car up. Today looks like it may have cured one of them, but you will notice I kept my mouth shut. I don't trust it yet :-) lol. Thanks for watching!

Must be nice.. my Tesla’s ECU bricked 2 days after 2024.33.40 (only 9months old, 2024 MY) so I lost all safety and FSD features. I have a pending update for v13.2.1 which won’t let me install and fails every time, still waiting for Tesla service to respond 🙃

Yeah I thought about that, and you are probably correct. But the really cool thing about that turn is how the Tesla had absolutely zero anxiety about it. I don't even know if that makes any sense. Howmuch better they do , it cannot drive by itself when it rains heavily or if there is a sunlight right into the camera . I dont know they can work on it to fix that. So if anyone has to use it they should check if weather is good or not and then drive 😀..
It was jawdropping good for my first day with v13. And to think that this is just the first early point release!!! Tesla AI are something phenomenal. AND they are doing it in rural east Texas where I live, and not some geofenced location. Absolutely amazing! Thanks for watching and commenting!

Yes I believe they are going to make some enhancements for destinations soon, as they cook v13 a little bit more. That's what I am doing right now, helping in the kitchen to cook it :-) lol. Thanks for watching!
Why did TESLA forget ALL of us who bought their cars with Hardware 3?
We paid $20K-$40K more than what people have paid for every H4 car sold since June 2024.
WE PAID MORE, AND WE ARE GETTING LESS!
I totally understand the frustration, but they are busy right now fitting the model into HW3 hardware. It will come!
Can they solve FSD if direct sunlight still blinds the cameras?
They can definitely get rid of it. It used to never happen until they took the "nag" away with v12.5. When they made it "hands free", they dialed up the safety mechanisms both in the car and in the cameras. It literally never happened in previous versions. I tell people not to lose sleep over the red hands. Those are a temporary necessity in these very very early days. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Looks awesome, but not feeling the red hands. I was hoping that was solved or at least better. It's definitely worst than it was before. I had like 1 red hands in the first 6 months and lately been getting it more. Always at sunset
Yeah, the red hands are pretty annoying, but I know there is a method to the madness. They obviously dialed something up. And in my video I proved out how its a safety mechanism. But I'm going to keep testing to see if there's a pattern.Eventually it will be gone. Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@johnchristopher7697 The two situations that showed the alert seemed unique in this drive. They were the only two that appeared to have the sun directly in front. With the longer stretch of street driving, the sun seemed closer to around 10 o'clock than directly head on. We could also see in this video that those two moments seemed more washed by the sun. It seems like FSD's confidence with what it's seeing is falling below a threshold.
@ Those don’t concern me. I saw the same thing with 12.5. Red hands at first, and then by my final two weeks with it literally never. Also, Tesla is already two to three releases ahead right now. This is the first release. Btw, it took me to HEB, avoided runaway carts and parked me. Thanks for watching it again and commenting again!!! ❤️

Not on hw3 they got to make it work with older models, why the gigabrains at tesla can't do this yet
It is definitely coming soon. I think it is only a matter of time before they roll it out to all HW3 Teslas. The model was trained on Ai4 cars, so they need to size it down. They are doing that as we speak, and you will get soon! Thank you for watching and commenting!
Pretty soon you will not need a license anymore to drive with self driving cars like the Tesla maybe in about 5 to 10 years we will see
