I purchased this software awhile ago (over 1 year). The reason was to get away from Russian owned Kaspersky. Uninstalled old Kaspersky software and installed Iolo. Installation was easy enough and basic functions worked ok. I did notice that the password encryption was flawed because even though Kaspersky was uninstalled, Kaspersky password encryption remained dominate. Iolo would not override it. The pop ups from Iolo was also annoying and I did not that the computer ran slower than before. Today was the renewal deadline. Since the original computer was not in hand anymore, all I received was an email asking to call. I called on the day of the deadline and they had already processed the charge and are unwilling to refund it. They told me I should have called sooner. I do not recommend this software.
Thank you, i am now a subscriber to you, i was about to get the free trial 6 months? from my laptop asus armoury crate "tuf" but i now see that it just makes it worse, i have had it happen to me before, and my pc crashed coupple months after the trial period ended and it was impossible to erase the "iolo" i dont really know if it was this, but watching this and it made your scores worse, i wont install it. because now i remember it only made me more haha, i am not that good in english right now ) well, the program made me a bit worse i think. and i would like to thank you, because i was about to press "install" before i saw this ;) now u got a new subscriber. I already have antivirus, and windows 11, and such things, i am a online dota 2 professional, so the last time the pc crashed i was stranded from a tournament. much money lost. haha. thank you again, and i will complete watch your videos.
Yup, their technical support will connect to your computer remotely when you need help or when your activation key isn't working because of "error 6" ie too many installs on computers. But when they open up the software remotely and paste in your activation key it magically activates for some reason. Then they start asking you if you want promotional offers and they're really pushy with it. I have malwarebytes but I reinstalled it just cause and because I'm paid up for 3 years anyhow. But when tech support started being pushy with offers I just shutdown my pc because we were still remotely connected and I don't trust crap. I hid all my sensitive files before allowing remote connection.
I have been using System Mechanic Ultimate on ALL my machines, the licence is about to expire, BUT, this cannot be completed, because IOLO is trying to force the renewal via PayPal, in the past I have aid with my bank debit card, BUT, as of today this is no longer possible. Also, there is no way to respond via email, all emails they send to you are "non reply" format, so tried their online support via their chat function. That was equally not impressive, the agent completely ignored the information I was imparting, and kept regurgitating about using PayPal, Amazon, Credit Card, where PayPal and Amazon are concerned they are a definite NoNO, for security reasons and data harvesting and account freezing actions they have taken with some of their account holders. Whilst I have been happy with System Mechanic Ultimate, this is about to come to an end because of their payment policy. So, I am on the search, reluctantly, for a replacement, any suggestions?
@@dogbone1065 If it's of any consolation I have transitioned to "CCleaner Professional" as a single solution system, it has managed to resolve a number of issues I hade, they System Mechanic was not able to resolve. If you go this route, the only suggestion I have is be very careful using the "Driver Updater" I used it once and it has completely disabled my HP Printer.
@@ITreviews my concern is related to the importance of testing on windows 7, how many people (that watch the video) are using this version of Windows. For me, the moment you showed windows 7, I lost interest in the video as I don't use it and I assume very few people still use this OS. Newer Windows versions also present different possible points of improvement (ex. Telemetry)
I understand your personal preferences and desire to keep up with the times, but what does the functionality of the OS have to do with reviewing and testing this software? Could you specify whether the functionality of SM or the test results would be different when using, for example, Windows 11? Moreover, telemetry is not an improvement, but rather a worsening that most users (myself included) try to disable in the system.
@@ITreviews please consider this paralel. Would the same brakes work the same on a small car as on a truck? What I am saying that you can't consider the results that were obtained on win 7 the same for win 10/11. I don't contest the results themselves, just their relevance in todays market.
I use windows 7 on my gaming pc and also I upgraded a few specs but the operating system is the same, running like new and also do video editing and use photo shop on the same computer and I can also convert videos while using other programs without slowing it down I do use mechanics and the operating systems doesn’t really affect my needs
These are lingering software programs from the early 2000s for when PC needed that boost, etc because of small HDDs, slow ram, etc. Extreme and High Spec PCs don't need those software types, so leave well alone. Iolo, etc are just winging it these days

I got ripped off for sixty dollars. They Never sent me the key to open the program.or refund my money.
