Had the SBGA001 champagne dial for over 10 years and while there are a few scratches, this dial still captivates me, truly beautiful. I will be passing this onto my grandson.
I'm watching again this episode, because I'm thinking to buy my second GS in the next future and I read my first comment. It's incredible how personal tastes can evolve during time and this is one of the things I love the most in this hobby.
I have the SBGA373 and its the best watch i've ever owned! Spring drive is beautifull. Never owned a watch for this money delivering that amzing quality. The blued secondhand is amazing!
SBGA201 owner here. Had it for 3 months and like it more now than when I bought it. The champagne dial and spring-drive sweep are a perfect combination.
Have you considered the SBGA283? I've got the 285 and would recommend it. Fits well with a 39mm case, 46.5 lug to lug, 12.5 thickness, 100m WR screw down crown (and it's Spring Drive).
GMT quartz if you ask me, the blued hand is gorgeous. Love the GMT on the bottom of the dial. ...I'm not a fan of the power reserve on the dial on the spring drive
You can’t lose with any of them. I personally love the 44GS case and have one myself. It is a unique experience in the GS line. You’re right to be concerned with scuffs though. It’s happened on mine and it’s glaring due to the perfection of the polish. Also, if you do a 44GS case, I do feel the motion precision 9F movements feel contextually in line with the sharp geometry of the case. Hope your weight challenge is going well!
I think the SBGA201 is a great choice for you, that second hand on the spring drive is mesmerizing, it's unbelievabley smooth; The open case back is also a great addition.
I will pick SBGP001 anytime. don't really like the spring drive at the front dial. (new spring drive all at the back soon or later) not a GMT guy as hate the third legs. GS strength will be the polishing/ made quality. and high-end quartz is accurate and thin enough, not only it is the lowest price among all that bring the best value, but it is also not normal quartz (highly calibrated) give room to other mechanical collection when not wearing, at least you know one of it is super accurate when needed.
SBGA201 all day, everyday, classic clean ..just the right amount of timeless GS pedigree indicators with the spring drive, open case back & power reserve. A Chef's kiss that one!
The 44GS case with spring drive movement would have been my first choice; plus the heat blued hand is just the right contrast. However, it important to note that the spring drive is likely to need a service every 5-7 years and you will not be able to service it with anyone else but GS and right now there is no service center in the US, it is only in Japan and ~cost over 600 USD. For that purpose the SBGV001 which has all the same beautiful elements but with the quartz movement would be my choice. If I am going to keep it, I like the fact that i just need to get the battery changed once in 3 years and that 9F85 super accurate movement will need to be serviced only once in 50 years. You heard me right 50 YEARS!!!!....its truly a watch for a lifetime. And yes that champagne dial is the most involved dial with 11 stages; it is just so underrated.
I have similar problem. I look at many GS and can not decide. Then I finally found one and then it was sold out and discontinued. Now I have given up....for now :-)
For me, it’s not so much weight loss that I’ll be celebrating but turning sixty. My love of Grand Seiko mirrors yours. I’ve decided on the SBGA373 it’s spring drive and classic style checks all the boxes for me.good luck.
Having sgbx063 I can tell, that champagne dial is great, it plays with the light in a very specific manner. My favourite one. My wrist is only 6.5, so I can't wear snowflake, and now waiting for a smaller one in 38-39 mm.(
You already know what the correct choice is. Sbga373. Spring drive. Otherwise I would say sbgw235 although you might say it's too small. However it is GS's Calatrava. One thing I've found with GS's mirror polished hands and indices is that on a sunny day they are annoyingly reflective. For that reason I prefer the brushed hands on the sbga375 when it's a sunny day. GS is only going to get more expensive with time as they go upmarket. If price doesn't bother you they will eventually make a 373 version with the thinner springdrive. But that might be a few years.
SBGA 373 44GS case is unbeatable. The most beautifuk, the one better showcasing zaratsu polishing of the case, 40mm perfection, the screw down crown well domenshooned and sligjtly recessed, somply perfection ive got the same exact model, outstanding and iconic. Champagne dial all the way!
The champagne dials are stunning. I have a SBGE205, spring drive GMT. I had been in love with that watch for over a year and finally saw one in the flesh in an AD and had to pull the trigger. I have a 7.25" wrist. I agree, it's a chunky, but doesn't wear overly top heavy even on leather. My only gripe is the finishing is too perfect and it almost makes me sick anytime I notice a new scratch or blemish. Really, the ones on the brushed surfaces bother me more than on the Zaratsu. Granted i don't have any deep scratches or gouges, but the Zaratsu is so bright, small scratches really don't show much until you really look up close. This is after over a year of at least 3 days a week of wear and hardly ever under a cuff. For that, the bracelet really shows desk diving wear, again most notably on the brushed surfaces. I would recommend spring drive, especially if there is going to be a perfectly sweeping blued seconds hand (Which i wish mine had) against that beautiful champagne dial. I hear you and would love a 9f as well, but think the spring drive is a better first GS and I think more likely to stay in your collection. I do sometimes wish I had the 44GS case, just because it is so iconic GS. I think it is just a matter of what would resonate more with you, the SBGA201 or the SBGA373. Based on you intonation in the video, you seem to like the 44GS case! At the end of the day, remember who you are buying this for. You picked the dial color which is the hardest part. Now pick which movement and case you think you would rather long term. As long as you can handle the finish becoming imperfect, I think you'll finally have a GS to stay in your collection! Congrats on your progress to your goal. Love the content! Keep up the great work!
I own a hi-beat and have never thought to myself, "hmm...this watch is kind of thick." I love my Grand Seiko hi-beat and have sometimes thought of buying another. But, the choice is yours. I must admit that lately I've been looking long and hard at a Grand Seiko quartz model. Interesting what you say concerning the champagne dial. Your observation came as a surprise to me. You're right! It's a beautiful dial. Good luck on the weight loss, Bruce Williams. Losing weight is not easy. Best wishes.
At the risk of copping out...I think that you'd(or I would for that matter) be exceedingly pleased with any of these. And I wouldn't dismiss the other movements out of hand just yet.Is 13mm really that much of an intolerable thickness? Sorry for the indecisiveness.
I think the SBGA 373 (last one) is the nicest. (I think anyone would enjoy spring drive’s second hand sweep and prefer it over a quartz ‘jump’. If you’re worried about scratching the zaratsu polishing when it’s on the top of the lugs you could make the watch a ‘going out’ special occasion watch for visiting friends, restaurants etc rather than general everyday wear. Awesome work with the weight loss btw! 😀
Go with the Spring Drive, not the quartz. My first suggestion is the SBGA001 pre-owned. Yes, it still has the Seiko marquee instead of the pure GS, but it's the original Grand Seiko, the poster boy for the Spring Drive technology when it first came out in 2006. Way before the Snowflake, I remember streets in Tokyo with this model advertised everywhere. Of course, you can go with the SBGA201 if you want the pure GS logo, but keep in mind this watch was designed with the double logo in mind, and the double logo version is more balanced.
Oh and at 3:25 you mentioned “dress watch.” If you’re looking for a dress watch, then pick looks over function. You already have a GMT-Master-and some divers, I’m sure. Pick the watch that is the absolutely best looking to you regardless of function or accuracy. That is a dress watch, imho. It’s completely impractical, but man, it looks good. 😉
I've seen some 42mm champagne GS models that were indeed the most tempting I've seen. I can't find fresh food right now, as shoppers are going crazy, so my healthy diet is being compromised. Good luck with the weight-loss quest, and stay healthy.
My choice would be a spring drive, I just like the movement a lot and it holds interest longer, but I think the convenience of quartz makes a compelling choice.
I personally own an SBGA375, so essentially the last watch with a deep midnight blue dial. I can’t recommend this watch enough. It is to me, a perfect encapsulation of everything that GS offers and what’s makes them so unique.
The last one would be my pick.... 44GS, Springdrive.... the hallmarks of GS. As allways, it’s the most expensive. In the long run, the springdrive will give you more satisfaction i think, because it’s and i know it’s a cliche but true, it’s mesmorising to look at, and i speak from experience. And yeah, the accuracy for me is also verrrry important, because it’s what we pay for in the end, top notch watchmaking... About the weight thing: good call BUT don’t fixate on numbers man, and go slow on it. I would spend one year at least to get to that goal. Change your lifestyle, eat less and diffrent and take time to get used to that if you want to succeed. no rushing. As they say, old habits die hard, so take your time to switch to a new way of eating. Don’t be disappointed if the numbers don’t drop quick... just persevere in your new habits. Good luck and wish you loads of courage!
I recommend you the SBGA283 Spring Drive with the Champagne Dial,. I personally own the SBGA285 Spring Drive black dial. I see that you are looking at the champagne dial with blue seconds hand, don’t let the blue hand be a must. Just check out the SBGA283. Also I have a review of my SBGA285 you can see. Thank you
Bruce, congratulations on the weight-loss! Looking good my friend. I think this is actually an excellent idea, because watches that have emotional/personal meaning (whether that’s a family event, milestone birthday/anniversary, memorable vacation/trip....but I think especially accomplishing a tough personal goal) end up being ones we cherish and enjoy more. Not that there’s anything wrong with buying a watch simply because you have the money, and you think it’s a cool watch (I’ve done that way more) but those are ones that more quickly you get sick of, and then you’re onto the next thing (human nature). It also cuts the other way… The watch will be a constant reminder to you to stick to your new lifestyle. Put this watch on whichever wrist will be connected to the hand that might be reaching for the cool Ranch Doritos at 1am. I basically did this same thing but with alcohol ;) I like the GMT best. Again, congrats!
Hi Bruce, I just purchased the new SBGP001; new 9F85 jumping hour movement, super thin 44GS case with such a clean dial. The champagne dial goes from a warm grow to an almost off white silver tone. A future classic IMO.
I love the last one. it has the awesome springdrive, not too much going on, but still that little bit of personality in case shape and the blue secondhand,
I just bought the SBGV245. Wore a steel bracelet on a Citizen for 10 years and got tired of it. Would only consider a titanium bracelet now. Lighter and more scratch resistant. The hybrid textile/steel clasp on the 245 fits me better as an everyday watch and I think really makes the ivory dial stand out.
Good job, man. Losing the weight while you're young and keeping it off is going to pay huge dividends for your long term health. You'll be so glad you did it 10 years from now. My vote is for the GMT. I've been wanting one of those for a good while now.
Hi Bruce, I have the 9f quartz with the champagne dial from 2014. ( I believe the dial goes through 12 different processes before it is finished). I would pick the first one with the blued second hand as a dress watch. At present the watch is incredibly accurate ( approx 2 seconds per year) and just wait until the light hits the dial and hour markers as the dial colour changes from champagne to silver . Whichever watch you pick , I am sure you will enjoy it. Cheers Dave uk
Sbga275-- iconic 1965 4gs case, world best 9r65 spring drive, midnight blue dial that goes black in dark and darkish blue in sunlight, date wheel and power reserve in dial color makes it disappear and could only be seen when your mind wants tp see it making this a classic! Not easily available as the biege counterpart 273.
Dude, the last watch you mentioned is the way to go!!! It has everything you want and more! Spring drive, power reserve, beautiful case, and an awesome size.
Got my wife a sbga413 to celebrate her 30th bday, absolutely blown away by the dial. If gotta choose a champagne dial, maybe you can look at sbga415, I believe under certain light it has that champagne -ish color.
I have a couple of modern and vintage GS. First of all the new 9F quartz is incredible and it's really cool how you can independently change the hour and seconds/GMT hands. It is the first quartz GMT from Grand Seiko. But you have to be ok with quartz to buy such a watch obviously. So I would go with SBGN011, it's a steal for that price plus Grand Seiko's 3 link bracelet just feels and looks so good. Spring Drive is awesome but I believe there are better Spring Drive watches out there, and i prefer cleaner and more balanced dials like the SBGY003.
Did you buy one of these? I’m looking at the quartz GMT. I have a Speedmaster and a 58 blue. Want a metallic dial watch and something a little dressier.
I just purchased my first watch last week and it was a Grand Seiko Limited Edition Quartz Blue dial, reference SBGP007, and looks amazing. I like the overall of the brand as it looks very simple and clean to me.
Well a 9 f quartz happens to be my grail. The champagne dials look stunning. What would concern me with spring drive is if it starts playing up? Yep pure quartz for me.Enjoy whichever. Cheers.
Just done alot of research on GS too... Looking at everything. To sum up, SBGA373 all the way 👍 44gs, springdrive, 5 link, blue second and that amazing dial and hands. Looks crazy in the sunlight.
As an owner of a Snowflake I much prefer the Spring Drive model you listed, I think the case with the brushing on top of the lugs is much better than the 44GS case as it has too many shiny surfaces.
Totally agree about the champagne dials. I have tried them all on. The GMT I expected to like the most but the clear winner when on my wrist was the sbga373 - just so classy. Definitely go for spring drive. The snowflake felt too light and cheap and the titanium bracelet marks and looks dull/grey and a little lifeless. The case on the 373 is great and the dial in person is stunning.
I'm all about the GMT though the 44GS case is also really nice with either movement, I am a massive fan of the classic designs (fell down a '60s-70s Seiko hole and couldn't be happier).
Hey man, great video, this is exactly the journey I have just completed. I wanted a champagne GS quartz or SD. As it was gonna be a dressy option that wouldn't be worn all the time I went Quartz. You are right about the thickness but that isn't always the case, I went for a pre-owned sbgx263 (37x10mm). With any of the choices there is a sacrifice, for me it's the lack of a blued hand. My wrist is 17cm, I felt the heritage case sat better than the 44gs case. You are spot on about the polished nature or the 44gs, could be a scratch magnet. Good luck mate. Will look forward to seeing what u go for and good luck in your goal 👍
Hey Bruce, I was in an AD today in Sydney Australia and looked through their collections trying on various models. I narrowed my selection down to the SBGA373 and the SBGA293. The latter might be another one for you to look at. The “373” with the 44Gs case is great. The look from the side is nicer then the other cases. The spring drive second hand sweep is just beautiful. So if you afford it definitely go spring drive over the quartz.
SBGA 373 wins against comparable spring Drives because: - mirror polished hands without brushed parts that look amazing (major difference to the sbga 375 which has indeed brushed tops on the hands) - 44 GS case - amazing dial, albeit not one with a crazy texture inspired by the ballsack of a tanuki in the japanese mountain range. just plain, clean and amazing. That's why I own one
Hi Bruce. I find myself in a similar situation and am looking for a champagne dial Grand Seiko. Did you ever pick one? How did you choose to compare the SBGP001 over the SBGP009 as one of your finalists? Thank you for your time
I have the first watch you covered (44GS Quartz model but before seiko logo was removed). The 44GS does show scratches easily, like you mentioned; it's not something that bothers me personally but I can imagine it could be a bother to some. The reduced thickness on the quartz model was one of the biggest factors for me and it wears like a dream at about 10-11mm in height. All very nice picks and I think you can't really go wrong here.
Hey Bruce. I just picked up a GMT (SBGEOO5). Champagne dial, 20 mm lugs for plenty of strap options and Spring Drive. Could be perfect for you. Good Luck
My GS is the SBGE245, love the spring drive and sapphire bezel with red dial. Didn't take too long for me to pull the trigger. Glad i did cause now the price has gone up since it's a limited edition
Good for you, man. Getting healthy is important, for you and your family. As for the watch, I would definitely pick one of the spring drives. It's such an amazing piece of engineering. I would be reminded of that every time I'd look. And that sweep... oh boy. And since you're already a fan of the case and the blued hand, it has to be the SBGA. Good luck whatever you choose.
My $.02 Bruce...the 44GS Spring drive. Now, of course your tastes may have changed, but thinking back to your earlier videos it seemed you appreciated a little bling... something with some good wrist presence. In my mind a GS with zaratsu polishing would fit the bill nicely there. As far as scratches... well, i mean, se la vie ya know. What can we do but buy what we love and wear it out man, and by that i mean wear it and be proud of those wear marks of love. My other thought is if one is considering a GS then, while they are well known for their fantastic quartz, what is even more iconic than a Spring drive movement, y'know? Either way, no bad options. Enjoy the process Bruce and congrats on the progress so far. Jason
Bruce do not buy a grand seiko without seeing it in person, you would be amazed how different light play on each pieces , for me you have to fall in love with the watch by having that connection you will love it forever. In January i went to my AD to look at a snowflake i got out of there with a godzilla i know it was double the price but i will love this watch forever the heart speaks louder than the mind . good luck
I am buying a GS quartz with champagne dial next week. Only have to decide whether to get a GMT or not. Why quartz? I do not wear a watch on a daily basis.
Congrats!! I've instituted a similar 6 month plan for my next watch. Dependent on how much weight I lose.... >60 lbs -> Rolex GMT 40-59 lbs -> Rolex AirKing 20-39 lbs -> Grand Seiko SBGN001 or Tudor BB (ETA)
You should also consider the SBGE205G, a champagne dial, spring-drive, GMT watch. Personally, as a lover of automatic watches, I would choose the spring drive over the quartz, even though they cost $1500-$2000 more.
I don't have any experience with any of these watches, but my vote is for the SBGA373. I like the size, spring drive...plus I think the display case back would be symbolic for your success in your weight loss journey which would be a reminder to you for the rest of your life.
Can't help you otherwise but giving my own opinion on the case. Take the most expensive one, if you can afford it. It's a classic look and the Spring Drive adds the value. Plus i love the blued seconds hand😍
I picked up a sbga083 Spring Drive with the champagne dial a while back. I like it, but it regularly loses out to my silver dial Oyster Perpetual 116000. I was surprised.
Go for the sbga373. I own its brother, the 375. It is amazing. The case, the polish, the movement, everything. And it wears great on my 7 1/4 inch wrist. It is not thick, it has presense, much alike a milgauss.
No personal experience, but I love the look of the spring drive movement. Pretty awesome! Also, I love the watch reward for a weight loss goal! I've done that in the past, but haven't been successful yet.
Be careful in dropping your calories too low. Being in a calorie deficit can reduce your immune system. That might be something to think about right now.
SBGE205. Spring Drive, GMT, champagne dial, open caseback. Stop sweating a millimeter when you can have one of the most important technologies in watches since the quartz crisis.
Hi Bruce and congratulations on your weight loss programme. I've had an SBGA373 for 6 months and to be honest it doesn't get as much wear as some of my other watches. The case finishing and that dial are amazing but with the angled edges and the polished highlights on the bracelet it can look a bit 'blingy' as an everyday wear. You are right about it being a scratch magnet though- I had it about a month before I put a scratch on the top of a lug. I'm really careful normally and don't remember doing it but boy does it bug me! I've got the GS dark blue croc strap which does tone the look down and makes it a pure dress watch. The blued second hand sweep is really cool and the finishing on the Spring Drive movement is very good. I know it is divisive but I like the power reserve as it breaks up the dial and adds interest. The accuracy for me has been about 2 seconds a month. The bracelet doesn't have any fine adjustment - I got it to fit my 7.25 OK and the 40mm size is just about perfect. I think I actually prefer the GMT given the choice (I may flip!). Hope this helps and good luck with your search and stay safe!
IMHO GS makes the absolute best value-for-money GMTs with their 9F HAQ movement. I have the SBGN005 and really appreciate and enjoy it. That would be my vote. Thanks Bruce. 👍⌚
Congratulations for your weight loss!!! You're awesome and I just love all your reviews. I'd go for the SBGA 373, I'm positive that it'll fit you great!!!!!!
Hi Bruce, I get your point on autos being a bit tall. However, I've found (and now own) my favorite . The 9S61, 3 hand auto, no date, black dial, looks killer on a brown leather strap. And the hight is more than ok since the piece is a 42mm, so its well balanced. I also love the plain SEIKO logo, which makes it even more inconspicuous. I have a pretty large 21 cm wrist, its a perfect fit. The movement also looks to kill for. And over 70 hours power reserve! (do love the champagne dials too, tough choice :-)
I’m in the same boat now. I love the 44gs case but it is a scratch magnet. GMT has a nice presence but don’t need the gmt. The 201 has the worst case design imho. Straight edge sides are boring. 373 is basically my grail since it has the reserve etched in there and is champagne but that gs44 is so blingy and won’t stay like that. It will be my daily driver since I’m the guy that has a favorite anything and wears the fuck out of it 😅 Japan pricing for the spring drive isn’t that bad these days so I extended my search outside the quartz and the main thing I like about the quartz is they are slim. Curious what you got eventually
You really should look at the quartz. They are amazing and pretty thin. The SBGN011 should be your choice. I have the SBGN005, so same movement. The bracelet is trash, but only because it does not really taper, and so it is less comfortable. The movement is just rediculously great. The spring drives are just too thick. especially with the display back.
Hey Bruce, I bought a SBGA299 preowed which has a silver sunburst dial and I love it. I'm usually into sports watches but this one is beautiful. Lumed indicie extremetries and hands, beautiful engraved cashback, Oyster style bracelet, 9R65 and blue'd seconds hand. Also got it for a steal in near new condition. Good luck! EDIT- Some people may consider the dial to be a white sunburst dial. Cheers
SBGA373. Spring Drive IS Grand Seiko, definitely the most pricey, but after achieving your goal, which is awesome! Congratulations on that as the real victory
No personal experience with any of these models, but I do have experience with the 44gs case on my SBGJ003. It truly is a beautiful case and one that is iconic of the brand. The 5 link bracelet feels great on the wrist too, I've not had any issues with the lack of micro adjustment due to have comfortable it has been, half links help with this.Loving the champagne dial, I think you'll be happy with any of the choices. Good work on the weight loss also!
I Like GS, I bought 2 of them: GMT quartz and GMT Spring drive SBGE211. I like both of them, but on SBGE211 GMT hand paint job is not perfect, plus on an hour hand on the mirror side - it has super tiny scratch. So if you buy a GS watch - pay extra attention to these kind of things. Seiko QA control is terrible
Congratulations on your achievement, and enjoy whatever you choose. My two cents: I love GS, and I think the Spring Drive is an amazing innovation, and executed so well. They're all good; you can't go wrong, but I'd pick a Spring Drive if this is your first GS. It's what sets GS apart from the pack.
The last one would be my vote. If I was buying a GS, it has to be a spring drive.
SBGA373 for the win! Spring Drive and 44GS case. It doesn’t get any more Grand Seiko than that...
I am on the same journey! Can't wait to see what you get.
44gs is beautiful and so is the clean sweep of spring drive, but the pr indicator kills the symmetry. Hard choice to make
I personally love the SBGY003. 39mm, Manually wound spring drive, thinner case, and the dial is gorgeous!
How much you got the 285 for??
SBGA283 looks beautiful… definitely my first luxury watch👍🏼
Easy SBGA373 - 44 GS case, see through case back, spring drive movement, blue seconds hand, winner no doubt about it.
My wrist is only 6.5, so I can't wear snowflake, and now waiting for a smaller one in 38-39 mm.(
I have the sbgn011 with the Champaign dial . It certainly draws way more attention than I anticipated.
If we talk about grand seiko, absolutely a spring drive!
That is an excellent idea for a goal ! You never fail to disappoint.
Without a doubt, my vote is for the GMT.
Spring Drive !!! definitely, you won't regret it.
Congratulations Bruce!
Went through that decision but what disappoinnts with Grand Seiko is the clasp and the bracelet.
The third or the fourth i think are the most attractive. Stunning
Hi Bruce doing some research on GS champagne watches and ran into this video. Which one did you end up buying and why did you sell? Love your channel!
Hi Bruce,
I have the 9f quartz with the champagne dial from 2014.
Cheers
Dave uk
Sbga275-- iconic 1965 4gs case, world best 9r65 spring drive, midnight blue dial that goes black in dark and darkish blue in sunlight, date wheel and power reserve in dial color makes it disappear and could only be seen when your mind wants tp see it making this a classic! Not easily available as the biege counterpart 273.
Dude, the last watch you mentioned is the way to go!!! It has everything you want and more! Spring drive, power reserve, beautiful case, and an awesome size.
Def the katana case with the jumping hour hand. So simple but iconic. Got snowflake and standard beat GMT, this is.the one I’d go for next.
The last one. Spring drive. Classic case. Love the champagne color!
So how much weight did you loose now after 9 months now? And which GS did you buy in the end?
Did you buy one of these? I’m looking at the quartz GMT. I have a Speedmaster and a 58 blue. Want a metallic dial watch and something a little dressier.
44GS case either way :D You smile when you talk about it.... Spring drive if you want one in your collection ;)
I just purchased my first watch last week and it was a Grand Seiko Limited Edition Quartz Blue dial, reference SBGP007, and looks amazing. I like the overall of the brand as it looks very simple and clean to me.
I have the SBGA282 Spring Drive Champagne dial. It is THEE most complicated dial they make. Not one of the most complicated, THEE MOST.
I have the SBGA 203 Spring Drive. I love it! Very accurate! 44 GS just because of the blue second hand!
Hey man that’s exactly the watch I bought
The champagne quartz. Awesome watch
@@lynnlewis1162 excellent pick up!! Enjoy 👍🏽👍🏽🙂
I think either get the Quartz GMT or the 44GS Spring Drive. Probably the spring drive though, such a cool and unique technology
I tried the SBGA437 and loved it.
For me, Grand Seiko is synonymous with Spring Drive. That's what I would get if I could afford one!
Congrats!! I've instituted a similar 6 month plan for my next watch. Dependent on how much weight I lose....
>60 lbs -> Rolex GMT
40-59 lbs -> Rolex AirKing
20-39 lbs -> Grand Seiko SBGN001 or Tudor BB (ETA)
Good job on the weight thing....keep it going. As for the watch....gotta go Spring Drive.
The champagne dials are very special, I’m currently deciding which one to go for.
Dude, I totally get the weight thing. My Piaget was my reward only if I lost the weight. And it worked. It shows how addicted we are to watches, haha
It will be my daily driver since I’m the guy that has a favorite anything and wears the fuck out of it 😅
Japan pricing for the spring drive isn’t that bad these days so I extended my search outside the quartz and the main thing I like about the quartz is they are slim.
