Being colonized by three different cultures has influenced the culture of Sri Lanka to the point that all three are still present in the country today to a certain extent. So sorry to hear about your father. I’m not religious at all but will say a little prayer for him today. I would be happy to donate to a go fund me if some finances are needed to help him in hospital. I’m sure some other subscribers could chip in as well. My heart goes out to you and your and family and wishing for a speedy recovery for your father. Now about the video. I must say this looked absolutely delicious! I do enjoy a nice curry and the flavours they produce. I haven’t tried Sri Lankan yet but there is a little Sri Lankan restaurant just near me in St kilda so I think I will have to try it for dinner this weekend haha. Your friend was very informative and explained the dishes well. I thought you were going to fill up on the calamari before trying everything else 😅. Great video as usual. Cheers!

This girl is Tamil, she is talking some nonsense as well, me being Sri lankan never heard of paalappm or whatever, not Sinhalese food though
I didn't hear any nonsense. I thought Michelle was quite knowledgeable. Just means milk hopper. Can she not be Tamil & Sri Lankan?
Paal appam is Milk hoppers. Mostly Tamils make it more than Sinhalese as I know. Well., aappa or appam came from Kerala anyway, so that’s south India. Just because it’s not familiar with SOME of the Sinhalese, and because it comes from the Tamil culture, why cannot it be Sri Lankan?.. Tamil community is as Sri Lankan as Sinhalese.

consider all of them as srilankan.and proud to do so .my moms a great cook and she makes all of them.
What nonsense are you talking about? She talked about the diversity of food. Our food culture is diversed and influenced by so many countries like Portugal, Dutch, India and even North Africa. Embrace the food whether it is cooked by Tamil, Sinhalese, Musims, or even Sri Lankan aborigins. Proud of our food culture.
I am Sinhalese and my grandma makes milk hoppers! If I want to learn one recipe from her that would be it. More Sinhalese people need to know about it!! Its so much more yummier than the plain appa because the middle isn't dry like in the normal ones.
