So to keep the Joker "mysterious" still, they ruin his characterization by having him be an imposter of some random guy. It really just doesn't hit mark, especially when most versions do a variation on the "one bad day" shlick.
@@pm.meowth4850I like to believe that Arthur Fleck is actually still alive but what happened was both him and this imposter Joker were fantasizing. The point of a joker card in a deck of cards is to replace damaged or lost cards. The joker the villain does that with lost and damaged people is the point of it.
Why has no one thought that this “new” joker at the end of this movie is Barry Keoghan's Joker in the batman? Surely connnecting this to Matt Reeves Batman universe makes more sense?
Nah that makes no sense timeline wise, it was stablished that Bruce's parents were killed in 2001 in The Batman, whereas the Wayne's are murdered in the 80s on Joker.
Why does everybody want to constantly connect dots and link films up? Arthur being joker in Robert’s Batman world makes 0 sense and also would be eaten alive by the state of the Gotham city
Well, to be fair, while Lee's actions in the end were infuriating, Arthur didn't actually betray his character development. True man! This movie has no connection to Heath Ledger's Joker at all. This movie is set in een alternate universe. Dont know why people are that stupid to "make up" a connection between these movies and the Nolan Batman movies. The timeline and events are totally different. The only explanation for the guy at the ending carving that smile could be that this is an alternate/different version of Heath Ledger's Joker in this universe or it is just a complete different character with just the same kind of carved up smile and the Joker is nothing more than a symbol for a movement against the system. I hate this ending because I wanted to see Arthur Fleck's story arc be expanded and exploring his character more into his Joker's persona and going into madness and become a more menacing Joker. How would Gotham City be like in 20 years where there is no Batman yet to rise and fight crime and where the Joker is free to murder and the police have a hard time apprehending the Joker? It’s a masterpiece! & I don’t think people are deep enough to truly appreciate it. Arthur fleck is Batman’s half brother & Batman’s dad ironically created the inevitable real joker( the man who kills Arthur fleck). Arthur never experienced love , not from his mom or anyone, that sadness that loneliness and utter despair is the entire point. Arthur is a good person a victim , someone we all had empathy for in part 1 and throughout. He bottled up his emotions and trauma tried to laugh it off as his mom would try and have him do calling “happy” , but those emotions never went away , it could go to suicide or outward aggression and in part 1 he chose outward aggression. Something he is eventually remorseful for in part 2 . The Folie a deux is French for two crazy people delusional together . He’s delusional believing harley truly loves him for who he is as Arthur Fleck, and she’s delusional for loving the joker side of him even tho that’s not really him because he’s a good guy deep down inside because his true self is not the “joker “ psychopath , and not even the real joker after all. The midget even said you were always good to me. It was Arthur’s redemption, to be honest and true self, but when he went searching for Harley the tragedy is she doesn’t love who he really is and Arthur ends up dying alone never experiencing love. Just when you feel good for him that he finally is being loved. Arthur doesn’t make the direct connection that maybe he could get fake love if he continues the fake self joker persona and is never presented that opportunity, maybe he would have kept being the joker just to please her if it meant he could be fake loved by Harley, maybe that would have caused him the anger he needed to turn into the real joker, we will never know. At the end of it that’s all Arthur ever wanted , love. When he sees Harley his make up is faded away as Arthur fleck this weak man who came out at closing statement emerges as his true vulnerable unattractive true self to Harley, that’s why she left him alone in the courtroom as she herself realizes in the end that it was all a fantasy & he isn’t the joker, she studied to be a psychiatrist and realizes what he really is and leaves him & turns him in to the cops. Arthur betrayed and symbolically shot by Harley in the stomach comes to fruition. In the end he is the origin story & inspiration of the real joker , the guy who kills him in the end and cuts smile on his face in the background, which is the perhaps the Keith ledger Joker character who battles Batman not Arthur fleck. We all are him angry at the film angry at Arthur not giving him love and stabbing him to death. Even some happy he dies for being this weak man nobody loves. The musical aspect of the film is fitting since no singing occurs until he falls in fake love with lady Gaga, he never sings in his delusions prior to this, and he even sings in his real life in fitting and funny moments to his cell inmates. Singing is his delusional state feeling the perceived notion of love that he truly never receives and I don’t mind the music since he’s crazy singing to himself most of the time. We are the audience that hates him for not being funny , the point of this film is not to like him for being weak and vulnerable, that’s why you don’t like it, Arthur fleck still not being loved. The film is deeper then we think and horrible if you come in to it with pre conceived notions of what you thought it should be. In due time I hope people appreciate the beauty of the film and don’t look at it through a superficial lens.

"real" joker kills fake joker (Phoenix) .. real real joker (young inmate ) will avenge Arthur. Kill "real" joker and eventually become The Actual JOKER (C)
People are angry that Arthur isn’t The Joker. It’s called “joker”; he’s A joker. If you removed the “Arkham” sign and any reference to Gotham, there’s nothing that makes this the DC Joker. He’s an abused kid grown up into a mentally ill man in a terrible city. Anything else is projecting our expectation of The Joker onto him. Lee’s reaction to him later in the film is the audiences’ misunderstanding of the movie and the character. The musical nature is because he met Lee in music therapy class and she sang to him. In his mind, that’s how he woos her. If she had been in art therapy,he’d probably be dancing through paintings in his delusions. He’s desperately looking for something to connect with someone… with the woman in Joker, it’s dark humor. With Lee it’s song.

You don't understand movies like this man. Have you ever had a female betray you and backstab you? Have you ever had everything go against you and you can't recover? Todd Phillips set it himself the system is corrupt and he had no chance to beat it that's why it ended the way it did. He never had a chance to make it a happy ending. That's why he gets punished by the guards, female lies and betrays him and The people that he turned into stab him to death at the end. It was a perfect chapter to close this character off. You just don't understand it.
By the way, he wasn't "The Clown Prince" He was Arther Fleck. The influential figure to the real Joker that shows up to kill him at the end. In his death, he is passing the baton to the guy who does it right. You all need to understand Todd and his direction with these films. People tend to have different expectation to who Arthur Fleck really is. Even Harley Quinn was fooled into thinking what he really is. She wanted a full fledged Clown Prince Of Crime only to be disappointed in him failing to be. Now Arthur Fleck is dead, it sets a path for her to find the real Joker to join and cause mayhem with. You may go on hating this film, but understand what Todd was doing and why. It may make you change direction about it all.
Everyone who felt empathy for Arthur in the first movie only seen the Joker makeup. Now the makeup is gone, you would step over him if he was bleeding out on the street. You are not the good Samaritans you think you are and only support if u have a vested interest. Proving Arthur's point about society. It's genius. The joke is on the audience.
What I enjoyed about this movie was the interpretations that can come of it. I had a different take on the movie but with similarities to yours. You should watch it, if you have the time.
🤔 that last one was a bit odd to me on that the internet skipped so fast to Keith he of course is the star joker every one loves and misses him but if you’ve read the comics they go over the jokers origins in the multiverse a lot in different ways one of them is that he’s a old demon/god forgot but they get the power from a pool under Gotham that the joker passes from person to person because it’s a infection the movie the amount of spread that chaos so fast in Gotham it’s a bit odd ain’t it, everyone’s just waiting? To act bananas? And the joker is showing how his psychotic breaks from reality slowly start to blend with reality but the human behind the mask didn’t want anymore part of it so the joker moved on to another. Check comics explained I remember there’s a episode on it explaining joker
LIKE IT or NOT! In the COMIC world , there are MULTIPLE The Jokers and Harley Quinn liking all The Joker. Arthur Fleck not the only The Joker so GET OVER IT
What I actually received is that Harley's baby by Arthur will be batman's villain, cuz it kinda fits when Bruce Wayne grows up &becomes Batman at that time Arthur's son will be grown up become the villain..We'll, that's what I was given to understand.. And I agree this movie, is trash🗑 , I'm a batman fan as also hos villains &Joker being my favorite1, I have many g.novels.. this opera movie including the prequel has nothing to do with the DC villain.. in the past they took Burton outta picture, to result in this present day's distraction of the character using directors to do whatever they fancy with characters as if they're their own BUT are already created by B.finger &B.Kane tho who cares their dead.. Only the detail putting a red nose on Joker destroyed my view of the whole concept, only this detail defied the movie as 🗑 , of course the plot &story are stupid as the image of the character.. Experimenting with great characters in such way is wrong &it's "painful" for old school fans..

Thanks for the review. Now, I definitely don't have to see this
The Joker verse to the Woker verse. They crucified him.
And who makes A musical to A drama. This is A fully doo doo.
"I just do things..."
Tim Dillon and Lady Gaga killed the Joker with gayness.
in contraception to what you sayed. i think there was gay but should have more hermaphrodites messing about the place to make it more obvious it had that gayness to it. gayness is pretty hard to porthole in movies because no one wants to be gayed or gayed up tuff time. yet still, the gayness was obscured by to many lesbians gone back to man tings
How was it gay tho?
"real" joker kills fake joker (Phoenix) .. real real joker (young inmate ) will avenge Arthur. Kill "real" joker and eventually become The Actual JOKER (C)
#ReleaseTheAyerCut
Deadpool and Wolverine ah ending 🤣
I want the riddler
Joker 2 is a love story that promotes unity in a chaotic society
Corny 🌽
I called it
Sentiments about the first joker movie is essentially how I feel about the Snyder films so despite what anyone says I do have a fondness for them despite their flaws I love the story Zack was telling with the characters really good review man !
@@terrancehowell7888 thanks man, i dont like alot of what snyder does esp when he implements his own writing to movies. I think hes at his best when hes adapting something from the page directly thats not his own story, his visionary genius shines through truely there. I loved Watchmen alot for this reason
The first Joker was not a musical. The writers going out of their way to create the second Joker and making it a musical was idiotic. Mean Girls the original movie is not a musical it's an adult comedy. Movie writers need to stop deceiving Their audience. The movie Wicked is a good movie simply because it's "supposed" to be a musical. 😒😑
Loool OK dude
The baby thing was her faking it to manipulate him more i thought it was obvious they switched roles Harley is now they lair and manipulater
What about La La Land?!
@@Hlbkomer good catch, La La Land is goated
Maybe watch the movie with a view that 'he is not the Joker!' perhaps it will make more sense. He is just Arthur and his fantasy's
Nah. It pretends to be deep but it's really the director saying fuck you to the audience that liked the first one
I didn't love it, but it really stuck with me. I think it was better than the first movie
What I enjoyed about this movie was the interpretations that can come of it. I had a different take on the movie but with similarities to yours. You should watch it, if you have the time.
Sounds like this sucked, glad i didn't see it
🤔 that last one was a bit odd to me on that the internet skipped so fast to Keith he of course is the star joker every one loves and misses him but if you’ve read the comics they go over the jokers origins in the multiverse a lot in different ways one of them is that he’s a old demon/god forgot but they get the power from a pool under Gotham that the joker passes from person to person because it’s a infection the movie the amount of spread that chaos so fast in Gotham it’s a bit odd ain’t it, everyone’s just waiting? To act bananas? And the joker is showing how his psychotic breaks from reality slowly start to blend with reality but the human behind the mask didn’t want anymore part of it so the joker moved on to another. Check comics explained I remember there’s a episode on it explaining joker
“What do you call it when joker goes hiking, walking Pheonix” - Joker 2
Legitimately the funniest joke that this franchise spawned
It’s not bad yall just crying
Personally, bro, I can’t stand Lady Gaga. 🥱
