man of steel and the suicide squad sucks. doesn't surprise me you like this juvenile crap. shazam, wonder woman, zsjl, shazam fury of the gods, all better than that piece of shit. even bvs is better.
ComicBookCast2, BobaTalks, M Enterprises and that dude that ends in 31 (I forgot his full name) along with their army of subscribers and commentators at best called you a toxic Snyder fanatic who hasn't read the comics and hates Superman.
I'll never forget how amazing Man Of Steel was in the theater opening night. Absolutely loved it. It's a real shame how Warner and Zack messed the entire thing up (especially the way Warner treated Henry)
I genuinely believe that the idea for this version of the man of steel was to be a man born into a dark universe in which that darkness is the inherent state of the universe, and he as the man of steel is a mirror of hope in an otherwise dark and hopeless universe, so superman was meant to be hopeful while everything and everyone around him is dark and hopeless almost realistic. So superman was meant to be the man of steel because his hoepeful and incorruptible nature was unbreakable and solid (unwavering) like steel
"You will give the people an ideal to strive towards. They will race behind you, they will stumble, they will fall. But in time, they will join you in the sun. In time, you will help them accomplish wonders."
But the way he looked in Black Adam looked far more accurate to this description, Superman in MoS is dragged down with the depressed tone, he doesn't at all come across as contrasting against the depression.
My main issue with people making videos about this movie and saying this superman causes a lot of damage and civillian deaths is the fact that yall dont seem to pay attention to the fact that the military evacuates most of the town and there a several scenes of superman saving people by blocking things from hitting them or moving them away. He literally flew ZOD to a corn field away from everyone in one of the best scenes. And the ending is perfect, the city was also evacuated and people dont seem to get that if superman didn't kill Zod that he would have killed millions, and it affected Clark deeply to have to do this as evident by him screaming after he snapped his neck.
There is no way the they could evacuate that many people in the city in that amount of time. Plus there were still people that were killed during the first terraform wvaes
And that brief second of grief for snapping Zods neck was completely ruined by the military drone he destroyed in the very next scene. You don't get time to dwell on that grief
The hypocrisy is that the same people that have a problem with Superman Killing Zod will praise Superman II where in that movie he kills Zod and he then smiles about it. But in this movie he clearly didn't want to do it but he had no other choice and showed remorse for it.
BRO M.O.S is a MASTERPIECE the opening shot with Baby Kal EPIC....Snyder for all his shortcomings captured the absolute essence of Superman in on shot. Right before he tells Lois to stand back before taking off to blow up the World Engine She says "If that thing is making Earth more like Krypton...Won't you be weaker around it?" Maybe the most EPIC line of the movie SUPERMAN says "Maybe....BUT THAT WON'T STOP ME FROM TRYING."....CHEF'S KISS BRUH.
ComicBookCast2, BobaTalks, M Enterprises and that dude that ends in 31 (I forgot his full name) along with their army of subscribers and commentators at best called you a toxic Snyder fanatic who hasn't read the comics and hates Superman. What do you say?
Collateral damage makes sense. This is his first time fighting(not saving) where he can act on the problem and think out his plan on how is he saving people from a down oil rig, but here he has never been in a position where ehile hes trying to think he is also now reacting and now acting first. Hes being attacked and addressing the threat in front of him. Something hes never had to do when saving people because there has never been a threat to him specifically only thr people hes saving. Here the threat to the people hes saving is the threat that also is coming directly at him. I think it makes sense in the world this superman is living in.
Exactly. It makes complete logical sense in the context of the film. Clark is a noob fighting military commanders that are at same power level as he is. This is his first time dealing with an immediate threat like that and at that scale. Not only that but he has to take down the world engine that's terraforming the earth as well. I'm actually kind of surprised Superman was able to come out of all of those obstacles alive.
Its the accountability factor the first avengers film actually shows them trying to save as many civilians as possible captain america even told the cops how to evacuatethe civillians without using the streets and tried to keep the fighting in one area
…I will say it In hindsight, the final fight when Hamilton got blown up (this is my rewrite following…) should have led both Zod and Superman into the DCEU version of the phantom zone, they could have had to fight their way out, which would have ended with Zod being left behind.
@ yeah they could have been fighting around asteroid like structures and large rocks while Hamilton (he could have been injured from the explosion) tried to keep the door to the zone open. Zod and Supes could have had a battle of ideals as he tried to keep Zod from escaping and in the end he would win without killing him by leaving him there as Hamilton died. He would grab his body on the way out, and give him the burial I felt he was missing from the DCEU.
I agree with a lot of what you're saying here, but the whole "killing Zod is simply wrong" subject is, in itself, wrong. In Superman II, Superman kills Zod. A lot of people either forget or ignore this.
@@I_lovethicthighsthat defense is a b.s argument for defending the film because if the context isn't clear that it needs to be explained means it is the failure of the director to make the movie appeal to everyone. No people didn't like the movie because they genuinely didn't like it
@@I_lovethicthighs What exactly is there to understand about the movie. It's terribly written and it butchers Superman's character. They tried so hard to copy The Dark Knight Trilogy that they forgot to make a Superman movie. The Nolan formula doesn't work for Superman it only works for Batman. Also do I need to talk about the character assassination of Jonathan Kent? They butchered my boy more than Superman. I don't understand the appeal of Man of Steel it's a terrible Superman movie.
I saw this movie four times and that was just at the cinema and then itcame out on bluray and now this video makes me want to watch it again. As much as I loved the original as a child and still do as an adult, this superman was who I'd been waiting for. Hes a good, wholesome guy but FA and find out like Zod did with Martha. And the damage at the end was something we'd never really seen before and is reckless but hes never done something on a scale lile this before and probably thought hed never have to. We always think the scene where he learns to fly is where he learns to be superman. But the entire movie he was still learning how to be Superman just as much as he was still learning who Superman is. Just like MCU Spider-Man. We thiught honecoming was the origin story when it was actually the trilogy and we finally see who he is at the end of No Way Home. Thats when he went from spider-boy to spider-man.
MOS was my boy's first day on the job. Nobody knew how crazy this joint was finna get. Fuq dem civilians, humanty & da planet was saved, no? Zod's end wasn't based though, I'll give you that.
So no killing Zod, what then? No access to the Phantom Zone, no krytonite jails, what's he sposed to do with a guy who's bent on killing everyone & is as powerful as himself? Hmm.
whats to stop superman from killing everyone else whos as powerful as him and wants to kill humanity without any jails to stop them......i guess supes could use that excuse to keep killing then eh. Killing one sets a bad precedent...thats the whole point of a powerful vigilante having a no kill rule, because after one it becomes easier and easier. Superman's the one character that cannot afford to be that kind of hero and nor should be.
@@Cinemavigilante bro ppl that keep killing just means they have no self-control. That's crap. Police kill, yet they aren't corrupted by will supes be? He has no prison to put him in.
@@Cinemavigilante it's his literal first day as Superman and he's finding out that other Kryptonians survived , and in fact his just now learning about Krypton!

10:43 BULLSHIT It literally shows you ground level reactions of ppl fleeing for their lives as these gods clash! It literally dedicated a pretty lengthy scene to his coworkers being everyday heroes, helping each other and face imminent death. It literally is all about the CONSEQUENCES. And the follow-up made a whole film about it. The world's reactions, the cost of intervention, everyone and their mother being a critic nowadays. And the weight of the world, we all get butthurt over a couple mean comments online, Clark literally is center of the global stage with everything he does being scrutinized This is so cliche to claim but these films truly are to smart for you folks. Bc YOU CHOOSE for them to be. You want a power fantasy where it's all lollipops and kittens instead of genuine examination of what life would be like if comics came to life. Sure in comics and cartoons the city is destroyed every episode/issue but in REAL LIFE that shit said be catastrophic, we still talk about 911, we don't just bounce back and move on like nothing happened. We don't let bygones be bygones. The fact folks still shit on Snyder and his fans is the real world proof you're all living but too close to see. You folks literally want Clark to be like Reeve only caring about one human(Lois) instead of burdened by carrying EVERYONE Dude turns back time for one chick he has a bone for and literally knew less than a week and that's so amazing and emotional. But being a good dude trying your best and getting sad when you're told you're wrong every step of the way is too much!? WHAT
The thing that i never got about the hate on the last scene with zod is thet snyder wanted to make a film more gray than black and white which is something that the audience wanted almost exclusively during that time period. That means that even amazing people will sometimes do moraly questionable things for a good cause . I get if personally someone doesn't like that as much because they want superman to be 100% moraly good but i think its stupid to criticize that as a writing flaw in my opinion

@@pats3212 No, I just hate these jerks because they offended me by talking about movies that I like. And ComicBookCast2 is totally crazy, he called Birds of Prey a good movie.
@@faith4657 Yeah, he's a weird guy, all his videos are just regular clickbaits and rumors that last only 3-4 minutes and often they're just rumors. At the same time, he's very loyal to Disney projects, he reproached those who criticize the current Star Wars, in his opinion, everyone should not scold them but have fun grilling kebabs and have fun chatting with them, not paying attention to all the trash that's going on there. Damn, he tried to defend the creators of Acolyte and said that most of Rachel Zegler's cringe statements were misunderstood and taken out of context. The dude definitely woke up.
It makes sense for collateral damage. It's his first fight ever. He's never used his powers like this... Captain America was a soldier, in war, he was aware in avengers to coordinate his team to move the fight away from civilians, not Superman being his first fight. That's why he took doomsday up to space to fight him
If they introduced Kryptonite at some point in the movie, preferably after their battle, they could have avoided killing him off. Unless it's mcu, the bad guy always dies lol
Cavill was done dirty. Zach was too. Look I understand peoples problems. But I also understand this is a relatable realistic Superman as advertised lmao. Not at any point in any trailers is there anything of a comic worldy feel. This is a real world situation. This is a guy who was a hero for less than 24 hours. And he had to fight people with the same powers but MILITARY combat training ?? And then he had to pick between his own people his own blood and the planet he was raised on. I couldn’t imagine the mental gymnastics someone has to go through to be okay with that decision. And then he warned Zod to stop, Zod told Kal that he took the only purpose Zod had. So now his purpose was to destroy the world and then Superman. Supes told him “yoooo don’t laser them fine folks.” But Zod was quite persistent in his mission. So Superman did what’s relatable (mind you that’s been 1 of 2 major gripes about Supes. That he’s OP and not relatable. Well now he is and y’all mad lmao. And again I understand the issue peolle had with the Martha scene. I too thought it was dumb at first. But then I realized Clark was trying to talk to Bruce. Not Superman to Batman. He thought quickly and was like “oh shit our moms have the same name, and this dude happens to look like he’s fixated as fuck” says Martha and snaps Batman out of it. I do get how people think it’s dumb but out of all the things to think of last ditch effort would probably be our mom’s name if we had that in common. Anyways, I get why people hate some of these movies. I don’t. But I get why they do. I will say that wasn’t Lex Luthor. That was the Riddler.
Why do people keep saying Superman should've covered Zod's eyes? You even mention the gas station fight where Faora was covering his eyes, but then all of you ignore the fact that covering his eyes didn't work. They just shouldn't have written the scene like that. It's that simple. 20:05 They actually did address this. Superman specifically says he didn't kill that guy.
9:07 Hey man I feel you and agree on some things, but you gotta give him a break he barely knew how to use his abilities to fight other kryptonians. The last battle doesn't help my argument but the first go makes since for it to be sloppy. Well even at the end zodd was technically stronger or more capable fighter. So supes was getting clapped but let's be honest if someone stronger than supes and pushes him they a building and it breaks. What can he really do
I think they might have placated some of the ire regarding collateral damage if they had included some more scenes of Superman actually saving people (from falling debris etc), or at least shown Superman attempting to take the fight away from populated areas (a-la Goku/DBZ). It would have made the do I/don't I decision of killing Zod much more impactful and meaningful if we had seen examples of Superman's boy scout nature. I look at MoS the same way I do the '09 JJ Star Trek movie, just a fun action movie with characters and story elements that I am familiar with, if not love. It may sit on a shelf next to the original movies, but only due to the subject matter, not any sort of merit. We need studios to leash Snyder and his contemporaries (Abrams, Lindelof, Gunn, Bay etc) and stop giving them almost total control with virtual blank checks. They all know how to make epic movies, but they need supervision to make them good film.
Duperman tried to move the fight to another location during the faora and namek(the big buff kryptonian) fight, but namek kept bringing the fight back to the town. For context im talking about the town fight where superman smaked namek into a train but was tag teamed by two kryptonians. Zod is bred to be a warrior and was catching up to superman who learned how to control his powers on a farm.
Bro no studios don’t understand the characters either they actually made the Snyder verse way more worse than it could’ve turned out to be studios want MONEY not well rounded characters bro
Man of Steel is an okay movie but it's not a good Superman movie! Snack Znyder doesn't understand Superman, his mythology and his friends and foes. James Gunn lives and breathes and respects Superman and comic books in general, I have a feeling that his Superman will be the best Superman since the Christopher Reeve and Richard Donner version.
Not for me, I grew up on Snyder's Superman and I feel like they spat on me and my generation without finishing their story. Now you can't remember or be nostalgic without indignation. P.S.: James Gunn's Suicide Squad sucks.
@Frank-Einstein-Madman We already got that it's called SUPERMAN RETURNS!! And guess what, people hated it. It was called boring, cheesey, outdated, forgettable, gimmicky, etc. Hence, why we got Zack Snyder's Man of Steel.
Man of steel isn’t the perfect movie but I don’t get the hate it gets. DC burnt billions rushing things. When all they had to do was make a proper MoS sequel and throw in Easter eggs to build the universe. Have Bruce in a couple scenes. Thts literally it.
This movie has the best super hero fights ever. The only other good fighting scene that comes close to this is the movie the winter soilder fighting on the road with captain america, falcon and black widow. Iron Man vs Hulk in Age of Ultron was good too, Iron Man vs Captain America and Bucky in Civil war was really good too, Batman in the wharehouse in BVS was pretty good too.
I don't have a problem with superman killing bad guys in the movie. This is not the comics. The movie is more realistic. And there is nothing wrong with being depressed, he has human emotions. It is realistic.
I am a Superman fan. I 'm mostly a fan of him in movies and not the comic book stuff. Snyder gave people like me what I was finally wanting to see...Instead of Super-boy Snyder gave us Super-man ..and it was AWESOME!!! The only criticism I give Snyder is not giving Man of Steel a sequel . I was not a huge fan of Batman Vs Superman although I liked the movie.
Bro I was born in 2001 and I don't hate Zacks superman but that's not superman my favorite animated DC was justice league unlimited and that's my superman
DUDE! I can tell you clearly haven't watched Superman & Lois from the Arrowverse. It is THE best portrayal of Superman since Christopher Reeve. I'm not exaggerating. All the side characters are compelling and interesting. Best part is that it's selfcontained, you don't need to watch Arrow to understand this one.
To me Man of steel was an amazing superman movie it has its high points and I know alot of people hated the movie and the ending of Superman killing Zod. Since I grew up with Batman the animated series and then I watched the Superman series My dad and I saw it and to me he said it was a move nobody tried and he thought that maybe Superman killing Zod was his way of making the tough choices he chose to save humans by killing Zod becoming the last Kryptonian and this would make superman hold back in future movies while I can see that I think maybe instead of killing him maybe try to save him or have a similar situation For example Batman in Batman begins said to Ra's "I won't kill you but I don't have to save you" and in Man of Steel Superman and Zod could of had a beam struggle ending with them in a refinery and Clark noticed something and tries to save Zod only to fail with Zod killing himself ending the climatic battle then Johnathan talks to Clark and decides to give him some advice from his war days if he was drafted something like Captains talk to Wanda in Captain America Civil war "We tried to save as many people as we can sometimes that doesn't mean everybody but if we can't find a way to live with that Next time maybe nobody gets saved" giving clark hope and continue to be better. We could of had the parallel with one hero choosing not to save the villain and one trying and failing to save the Villain. Just a thought and despite how the film ends it was decent and while Batman V Superman was horrible it did do something right with the aftermath of Man of Steel and while I have my version of How the DCCU could have been done differently though we should have gotten more movies with Henry Canvil as Superman instead of what we got.
11:56 I think that we as a Fandom give slack to the Avengers is because we see Marvel as more grounded whereas we see DC (Specifically Superman) as more altruistic.
I love MOS! It is not perfect but I really enjoyed this interpretation. He is a bad ass and we got the epic action Supes deserves. Jor-El was great. Faora was great. I really like Pa Kent but admittedly wasn't as big of a fan of the hurricane "situation" at the time. But it didn't actually bother me that much. I just like the way the original Superman: the movie handled his death. The fight in Smallville was amazing. And the fight with him and Zod was like DBZ come to life. I am not part of the Snyder "cult" but I do really like most of his movies. Anyway, I really hope Gunn's Superman is great.
Did you notice Faora was kicking Superman's &&& in that IHOP fight scene,I mean REALLY kicking his &&& !!! LOL. Supes couldn't and didn't land one punch/blow on her. A GOOD DEATH IS IT"S OWN REWARD
2:04, 7:56, Action and spectacle was what this version of Superman delivered best, it just kinda neglects other aspects of what defines the character in his virtues with the focus on his power and his burdens as an alien. And while people may not appreciate this version for it, the style of the action and spectacle in this version was notably adopted by Tyler Hoechlin's version of Superman, it's just that version also uses the light and personable persona of Christopher Reeve's version, the melancholy resolve of Brandon Routh's and the relatability of Tom Welling's to balance the focus between his virtues, his power and his burdens of being different from everyone else. 8:58, Despite this version of Clark never getting to grow into the paragon of virtue he is in the comics overtime (15:14, which was why I was fine with the idea, just not the execution of Clark defensively killing an opponent he couldn't incapacitate in time to stop more loss of life, like how he is usually depicted killing Doomsday defensively for similar reasons), similar to how Andrew Garfield was robbed of his chance to truly give his Spiderman a fully formed arc of overcoming his worst aspects to become a better person and hero (also, the Avengers notably makes more of plot point of the failure of supers to defend civilians than the DCEU), the bigger triumph of this continuity was the fact that either version of the Snyder Cut ends with Clark amidst other supers, the Justice League not just protecting the world, but also being other outcasts finding each other.
It's not a Superman movie, though. It's the start of Kal-El's journey before he becomes the Superman we all know and love, and dealing with murder is part of that journey.
Hey my buddy Deathstroke! I see your video,i click;simple. 💪💯 I love your points and perspective as always. Many didnt have the patience for this would-be follow up of movies. Many didnt get, with respect, that this was an ORIGIN movie. He was going to vow to NEVER kill again after he saw first hand and felt the trauma of it; therefore building an amazing saga and character growth after, in following movies. Imagine the potential this could of had! Im not one of those dc movie haters,i actually love the dc universe. I just think this saga could of added so much to the dc lore and universe as a whole. Much respect man! 💪🥊
The problem with collateral damage is a annoying argument and then have it a big deal. But the thing is because it's Superman. Superman being there highlights the issue as his character wouldn't be as reckless. the problem of batman v superman bringing it up to the audience which something lot of people doesn't think of is now at the front of their minds on rewatch
It’s kind of sad that Zack Snyder peaked at Justice League and then went downhill with all his Netflix slop. If he had someone good to refine his films then he could actually have made something that actually would have been unironic masterpieces. Instead we got a worse modern Star Wars than actual modern Star Wars.
1)Man Of Steel was great. 2)Batman vs Superman Dawn Of The Justice was above average. 3) Joss Whedon's Justice League was trash. 4) Wonder Woman was great. 5) Zack Snyder's Justice League was just above average. 6) Aquaman was great 7) The Flash was actually pretty good. I enjoyed it. 8) James Gunn's The Suicide Squad was epic. It was the best movie of DC since The Dark Knight Rises. and 9) Wonder Woman 2 was just trash but Pedro Pascal was just great in that, he gave everything in his performance but still couldn't save the movie.
Zaffy so what you’re saying is that you want every super hero fight in movies to feel like an anime fight is that right? You want the final fight to be personal between two main characters with real intense emotional and character development behind their feud.
That wasn't the point of the neck snap. Zods goal was the destruction of humanity. That was his purpose now because Clark took away his meaning to his life of protecting his people. He was telling Superman he wouldn't stop. Superman could have threw that guy in the air, he could have took the fight somewhere else, but eventually someone will get tired, someone will lose and zod is fighting to the death, not Superman. Superman has no way to put this guy in prison, no way to keep zod isolated in if Superman won the fight. Nowhere to hold him, he'd have to fight another day and another day and another day and in all these fights Superman can have the outcome of losing and in that case Superman would be killed by zod, then all humanity will suffer because he wouldn't be there to save them. He had no other alternative but to eliminate the threat completely.
If you want Superman from the comics, why not read the comics??? WB already tried what you want. It's called SUPERMAN RETURNS!! And guess what, it flopped in the box office and people hated it.
i appreciated Man of Steels action, visuals, and score that seperates it from the other superman movies....but that doesnt take away from the fact that certain things in the 3rd act didnt need to be done
He was a noob fighting military commanders that were at his same power level. Not to mention how he had to deal with the world engine as well. Collateral damage was inevitable. Btw, Zack chose to kill off Zod for shock value. That's it. It wasn't some conspiracy to turn Superman into an "edge lord."
You even see Superman feeling bad at the end of it by giving off a big scream after he kills Zod. An "edge lord" would feel indifferent after commiting such an act.
@handsuporillshoot381 i appreciated that, man of steel shows henry cavills clark at his best emotional state, the rest of the movies ruin it and man of steels ending was the tipping point for zacs injustice fantasy
Said it when I saw it in cinemas.. This movie was 🔥!! Underrated and overhated just because of the ending. It was a perfect setup to begin turning him into the 'no killing' boyscout we know. The score *chefs kiss* especially Flight ost. Lois Lane is meh though. MoS 2 should've been an introduction to Bruce Wayne at a fundraising gala or something (but no batman yet), and even have Diana WW cameo where she can easily tell who Clark is. Brainiac could've been the next villain or ground the movie by having Lex create a Kryptonite suit like in Dark Apokolips.
I mean, it’s not Dragonball Z were they have the sense to fly away somewhere away from civilization. We have seen it in the Superman cartoons when we were younger, the fight was in the city not really caring about the collateral damage that fight might cause.
I do understand the collateral damage is a lot in Man of steel but you also have to understand that at this time I'm the story, Superman is not the most experienced super hero and it's fighting an opponent that is by far way better at fighting that him. If this happened in real life, I don't expect to have 0 casualties.
I mean clarke could run/fly save dad put couple miles away safe and return almost as fast as it would take people to think "hey wait wasnt there a guy just the..... well thats weird there ia a guy there, man i must be more stressed tgan i thought, couldve sworn he disappeared for a second there"
You WRAP Snyder whole ego & personality/mentality so EXACTLY! It's almost like Superman is mirroring HIM, & all the shite he was gping through. Yeah. Bang on! Good stuff...
Most of the people when i saw man of steel was shocked by him killing zod like what the hell. I was like superman wouldn't do that like come on. It added nothing
I actually say that Man of Steel is a fantastic film despite the warning signs of what was to come in its sequels. Yes, in the man of tomorrow's illustrious film career, Superman: The Movie is a better film and I think Gunn's Superman will be better, but Man of Steel is a well-written, perfectly concise, dark yet playful superhero film and one I don't mind revisiting every now and then.
Among all the complaints about destroying cites and killing Zod, people often overlook that Superman xenocides the Kryptonians, and doesn't seem upset about it either.
Zack Snyder doesn't care about respecting the comic characters, he loves them killing lots of people in a gruesome way, lime action heroes of the 80s. He has to make a Punisher film, or a Fist of the North Star, that's more suitable to his point of view. Not much else.
Where you said he has a helucination about his dad. Its not one. He can see people's souls. It's why he can talk to him and that conversation took really place. It was real.
He did he got sidelined and while on one hand i like bvs and Snydercut on the other they killed Superman in the second movie and ruined the DCEU by sidelining Henry in the second movie for fucking Ben Affleck. You serious? I wanted man of steel 2 not BvS. Not David S Goyer and Chris Terrio trash writers one did blade 3 the latter did rise of Skywalker. There ya go. Man of steel writing the overall movie was a thousand times better.
This movie was straight fuckin awesome, they finally respected the fact that when the a being like superman fights, there will be colossal collateral damage. My only regret was that not knowing what it would be like I did not go the theater to watch it. In my opinion this movie is the best superhero movie of the two last decades. 👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾💯💯💯
The knightmare scene is a bad timeline. And BvS his not like that at all. Superman's character was always about choice and choosing. Superman was stopping Stephenwolf a man trying to end the earth. Zack wanted to show that the dark timeline doesnt need to happen.
@@Cinemavigilante Happens to the best of us my friend (clearly you were thinking about him). I’m about 1/4 the way through and really enjoying this (and not just because we share similar views on the movie). You’ve earned yourself a sub
@@Cinemavigilante 9:01 There’s actually a small moment where Superman has a moment of realization and regret that he brought the fight to a civilian populated area. It amazes me how similar my sensibilities are to you when it comes to modern films and tv. You’re perceptive man. What you said about the world engine always got me, it’s already mass murdering people by the time Clark gets there. It’s awesome.
1:54 I quintessential Superman will always be Tom welling and second for me would probably be Christopher Reeves. I have a feeling I'm really going to like David cornsweatsn Superman but until that comes out my favorite rendition of Superman will be Tom welling from Smallville
Not fan of the snyder verse but I always thought what if it was an adaptation to the injustice universe instead of the main one like it was lead superman to became the dark dictator we fear until we know it was just a different universe and the real superman show up at the end now that would be better and the best twist in any comic book movie ever
I LOVED Man of Steel, thought it was a-GREAT-film and the best Superman movie ever made.Showed Supes alien origin ( he's an alien pretending to be human ) several times in this film he's called an-ALIEN. Krypton is shown as an expanding race, they had out-posts and these Kryptonians are soldiers first, then scientists.Zo-rel took out several other Kryptonian soldiers by himself, then put Zod on his knees in a single engagement.Zo-rel is a complete bad &&& in this film. I felt in this film if Supes didn't have a battle plan and team-up with the US military, the Kryptonians would've eventually killed Superman. The Kryptonian had the numbers advantage against Superman,Faora beat Supes's &&& by herself in their only one-on-one battle, then the Kryptonian ships had weapons that put Supes on his &&&.
its literally easy for Zack to solve the final battle problem. You know, before the fight ,just use his SUPER VISION to check the buildings, have a cgi shot of empty buildings, have the camera zooming all over the place, in the bedroom, living room, etc., use the THERMAL VISION, and what now? SHOW THE ROOMS ARE EMPTY. It's literally damn easy, bro, and the meaning of doing that? Superman is PUTTING the people FIRST before the fight, his humanity metaphorically, show that civilians are all gone; established that they are all gone, its so easy; theres a reason why people still defending the avengers because Cap actually organized the cops to save the civilians, you know LIKE A HERO, master stratergist for christsake, he knows whats he doing when he commanded Hulk to destroy things, he damn sure Hulk wont hurt anyone, theres a reason why he lead an entire army into battle in endgame.
@@Carter-um8cl Thanks just a shame how things turned out, i wonder what the New Superman film will be like, hopefully it will be good Reeves and Cavill.💯💯👍
I'll be honest, I grew up with the Batman, Superman and Justice League Unlimited animated series. I got spoiled with the fights, which were amazing when they happened. That being said, they were impactful because they were balanced with great story writing which is why I have to disagree with the hero vs. villain fight in close quarters because this series proves you can have an impactful and personal 1v1 throughout the entire city/country. I know you've seen them and know what I'm talking about and get where I'm coming from. I agree 100000000% on Superman killing Zod tho. That pissed me the fuck off, but not because he killed him. No, I'm pissed off because I'm tired of the idiotic trope of introducing a mayor villain that's just as important as the protagonist himself just to kill him off in the same movie. That's fucked up. I would rather not have had Zod in the first place. For real, he's almost on Darkseid's level. He's a kryptonian that's bred for battle. He can match Superman in strength, speed and durability but can outmatch him in combat and mental gymnastics. That is a literal Justice League level villain. So it felt incredibly wrong for him to lose/die the way he did. I'm tired of saying this, but it's the truth: the first villain should always be Lex Luthor. James Gunn is doing it (although I really hope the Brainiac rumors aren't true) and it feels right. It's logical. Have Luthor create an artificial threat (Bizarro, Amazo, Metallo, maybe even Titano) and after the wake of destruction, he sways the public to antagonize Superman by blaming the destruction and damage on him. Also, he would absolutelly loot the battlefield/aftermath for Superman's DNA from which he'll create Bizarro and later Superboy. The death of Jonathan was so fucking stupid also. That should've been Clark's first big save. And the fact he did it in front of people could be followed up by him having to run away, keeping in touch with Jonathan and Martha in secret to avoid bringing danger to them. OR, and bear with me here, you know the damn DOG that he killed himself to save basocally? Have that dog be Krypto. For fucking real. Have him be Krypto and be the one to save him or something. Don't just have him die as a moron. In fact, the whole scene would've worked if they showed him at least trying to run away. I mean, he just stands there. Now, I'm not a weather expert, but I am pretty sure that if you're that close to a fucking tornado, you would at LEAST be struggling physically to stand up or just remain in place. And I am giving him the benefit of the doubt because Jonathan is an old man and I am 99% certain that he would've been picked the fuck up and blown into oblivion from the power of the tornado's winds. Hell, that would've also worked. He gets picked up and Clark tries to save him, but the debree inside the tornado fucks Jonathan up badly and he ends up dying anyways, kinda like an Uncle Ben type of situation where the guilt of not acting quickly enough haunts Clark for the rest of his life. All that being said, Man of Steel is my favorite DC movie. It did most things right and that's a big deal. I hate Zack Snyder, but there are details in his vision for the DC universe that were spot on that no other director would've gotten right which is what I lament the most about the Snyderverse. He is in many ways like George Lucas. He has great ideas, but terrible ones too, which is why he needs a team of competent people to reel him in a bit and help him polish his vision and be outspoken about what doesn't work (like kill-happy Batman and casting Ezra and Gal Gadot as Flash and Wonder Woman). His Justice League wasn't awful. It was actually pretty damn good at times. The Gods vs Darkseid sequence was a cosmic orgasm for me. Steppenwolf was fucking amazing. Cyborg was perfectly cast and looked fucking amazing. The hiccups were more on story decisions. Like, instead of having Superman behave like a retard until Louise shows up, he could've been mindcontrolled by Steppenwolf with apocolypse tech or maybe somehow have Lex Luthor be the one that helps Steppenwolf mind control Superman. After all, it's hinted in the end of Batman vs. Superman that Lex knows either Steppenwolf or Darkseid is comming so he would be already anticipating and preparing for their arrival. I also think the Justice League movie should've been a two part movie like they did with Dune. Cyborg's origin story was butchered for the theatrical release and that's always bothered me. After seeing the 4 hour release, I am absolutelly adamant that this movie would've exploded the box office if it was released in two parts. Also, wether you like or hate Zack, you have to admit he got done really dirty. Justice League was his movie and he literally finished the damn thing when his daughter died and he obviously had to take some time to grieve. They took away his movie, choped it up, added the Avenger sauce and ruined the recipe (which is why I hate the Avengers and Disney MCU. It's literally fast food slop formula and now everyone is doing it. The worst part is that people were apologists for years and now they're tired of it, but it's too late.). The worst part is that they also blamed him afterwards. Like I said, I hate Zack, but I can't help feel for the guy. I'm sure his version of Apocolypse war and Flashpoint would've slapped hard. His Darkseid will absolutelly never be toped. Btw, I appreciate you a lot, Zaffy. You're the only one that gets it.
None of the Avengers, including Captain America have ever had a no kill ethos. Batman and Superman both do. And even then When the Avengers go down into NYC to battle the Chitauri they consciously cordon off the Area, mention that they want to limit casualties and destruction and want to end the fight quickly to reduce the damage. All of those small things make seeing all the destruction and collateral damage a little bit more palatable. And even after all that two or three movies later you see the Avengers being held accountable for their tactics and so you see the final battle in Endgame take place not in a city but in an isolated large property away from the cities and towns. I don't dispute that the Avengers movies are low IQ, it's why I enjoy them most of the time, but these small things like attempting to save lives and properties and then eventually be held accountable, these things make the destruction more fogiveable.
Man of steel didn't get the sequels it needed to complete Superman's arc, that's the real problem. The events of Man of Steel are the reason Superman imposes the no killing rule on himself
good point,BVS had some good follow up ideas like supes getting confronted on all the collateral damage caused as well, but it didnt live up to fulfilling clarks story at all
The depiction of the military wasn't good. They looked like they should have been in a straight to vhs release. It's really cool when Superman breaks the cuffs and reads the doctor's badge, but it would have been amazing if we had respected the military.

WB stopped zack from completing supermans arc. MOS 2 was to happen but WB wanted BvS.

@@sheriffhuntley6836 His suit doesnt matter its the action of the man.
I was looking for this comment. This seems to be the most common problems I see people have that isn’t even an issue if you were paying attention.
Also Zod was the one cause the most damage
Man of Steel is a masterpiece, it had the greatest villain in Zod, amazing worldbuilding and action and pathos.
And no chemistry amongst the characters
BRO M.O.S is a MASTERPIECE the opening shot with Baby Kal EPIC....Snyder for all his shortcomings captured the absolute essence of Superman in on shot. Right before he tells Lois to stand back before taking off to blow up the World Engine She says "If that thing is making Earth more like Krypton...Won't you be weaker around it?"
Maybe the most EPIC line of the movie SUPERMAN says "Maybe....BUT THAT WON'T STOP ME FROM TRYING."....CHEF'S KISS BRUH.

These guy's want it to be exactly like the cartoons, they don't want to grow up
…I will say it
In hindsight, the final fight when Hamilton got blown up (this is my rewrite following…) should have led both Zod and Superman into the DCEU version of the phantom zone, they could have had to fight their way out, which would have ended with Zod being left behind.
interesting idea, i like it
@ yeah they could have been fighting around asteroid like structures and large rocks while Hamilton (he could have been injured from the explosion) tried to keep the door to the zone open.
Zod and Supes could have had a battle of ideals as he tried to keep Zod from escaping and in the end he would win without killing him by leaving him there as Hamilton died.
He would grab his body on the way out, and give him the burial I felt he was missing from the DCEU.
I do agree, Henry got shafted in the sequels.
I agree with a lot of what you're saying here, but the whole "killing Zod is simply wrong" subject is, in itself, wrong. In Superman II, Superman kills Zod. A lot of people either forget or ignore this.

Zod needed to be killed. There is no prison that can hold him. Where tf would Kal El put him? He had to kill him. Its more realistic.

MoS is by far the best superman movie and cavill the best superman.

You want to put faith in studios? Regardless, studios have more say than you may think.
Duperman tried to move the fight to another location during the faora and namek(the big buff kryptonian) fight, but namek kept bringing the fight back to the town. For context im talking about the town fight where superman smaked namek into a train but was tag teamed by two kryptonians.

I love your channel, it's like doing a rail and reading a comic book. Fucking awesome energy. Kinetic.
The Raimi trilogy of Spider-Man films do 3rd acts to absolute perfection
6) Aquaman was great
7) The Flash was actually pretty good. I enjoyed it.
8) James Gunn's The Suicide Squad was epic. It was the best movie of DC since The Dark Knight Rises.
and
9) Wonder Woman 2 was just trash but Pedro Pascal was just great in that, he gave everything in his performance but still couldn't save the movie.
Finally someone with a brain
@handsuporillshoot381 the latter movies plus zacs own words would prove the edge lord conspiracy correct...and shock value doesnt = good
@handsuporillshoot381 i appreciated that, man of steel shows henry cavills clark at his best emotional state, the rest of the movies ruin it and man of steels ending was the tipping point for zacs injustice fantasy
They gave my man Henry the best roles just to take them away when he was reaching the PEAK…..
Bro you make great points with evidence yet people still glazing this film and universe. They Lex Luthor fans lol
I mean, it’s not Dragonball Z were they have the sense to fly away somewhere away from civilization. We have seen it in the Superman cartoons when we were younger, the fight was in the city not really caring about the collateral damage that fight might cause.
The collateral damage in Man of Steel is justified because Superman is getting his ass kicked by Zod.
U need a sign off a way to tell us good bye video just ends I get sad
“That’s not Clark’s character” meanwhile DCAMU superman trying to kills Batman before the 3rd act
17:10 what comic and artist is this picture from
I am so happy Henry Cavill is coming back as Superman. He is the perfect Superman.
In dragon Ball Goku would tell his enemies “let’s find a desolate place where we can fight” that’s all Superman has to say!
man of steel is a great dragon ball z movie tbh
I do understand the collateral damage is a lot in Man of steel but you also have to understand that at this time I'm the story, Superman is not the most experienced super hero and it's fighting an opponent that is by far way better at fighting that him. If this happened in real life, I don't expect to have 0 casualties.
I mean clarke could run/fly save dad put couple miles away safe and return almost as fast as it would take people to think "hey wait wasnt there a guy just the..... well thats weird there ia a guy there, man i must be more stressed tgan i thought, couldve sworn he disappeared for a second there"
It doesn't look like he has his speed like that yet.
I just love your critics on these movies and hlw detailed they are
Is the greatest Superman movie ever
Man Of Steel is still the best superhero movie because of Christopher Nolan, David S. Goyer and Junkie XL.
You WRAP Snyder whole ego & personality/mentality so EXACTLY!
It's almost like Superman is mirroring HIM, & all the shite he was gping through.
Yeah.
Bang on! Good stuff...
No he wasn't he was trying to build a character of CHOICE. But of course no one sees it.
They arent dead they got sent to the phantom zone.
@@faith4657 He destroyed the Genesis chamber when bringing down Zod's ship.
@RainBird88x The Genesis chamber is a chamber. It can only work of the DNA are placed. So those pods are just empty shells.
Zack Snyder doesn't care about respecting the comic characters, he loves them killing lots of people in a gruesome way, lime action heroes of the 80s.
He has to make a Punisher film, or a Fist of the North Star, that's more suitable to his point of view. Not much else.
Batfleck as ACTUALLY a murderer but I like him lol
MoS2 was going to happen but WBros messed it all up.
This movie was straight fuckin awesome, they finally respected the fact that when the a being like superman fights, there will be colossal collateral damage. My only regret was that not knowing what it would be like I did not go the theater to watch it. In my opinion this movie is the best superhero movie of the two last decades. 👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾💯💯💯
Bvs screwed over henry Cavill as Superman fr. Like man got no character or personality which sucks so much
The knightmare scene is a bad timeline. And BvS his not like that at all. Superman's character was always about choice and choosing. Superman was stopping Stephenwolf a man trying to end the earth. Zack wanted to show that the dark timeline doesnt need to happen.

Not fan of the snyder verse but I always thought what if it was an adaptation to the injustice universe instead of the main one like it was lead superman to became the dark dictator we fear until we know it was just a different universe and the real superman show up at the end now that would be better and the best twist in any comic book movie ever
Its not injustice
@faith4657 I know it's was just a theory
How would he do that when he has someone trying to punch his lights out.
SNYDER CUT! Should of made Snyder the Kevin Feige of the DCEU films.
Man of Steel is an amazing Film Henry Cavill made the Superman role his own never copied the late great Christopher Reeve.👍

Why couldn't Clarke save Jonathan using super speed? Nobody would have even seen it happen. 😂😂😂
Does he have that level of speed yet?
🤣🤣 making excuses as to why superman couldn't complete a level 1 rescue, just to justify a very badly written scene in the film.
@@M.S.Fitness Not an excuse it's just never claimed to gain super speed like that until adult hood. It's just common sense.
@faith4657 did u never hear the stories of Clark out running trains on his way home from high school?
@M.S.Fitness Which story? Where was it cause that sounds like something from the Christopher Reeves movie.
This is a great channel. More people need to support creators that do not rely on AI narration.
It has no heart. It feels like it was written by a 16 year old. Henry was good as Superman but it was really a mess.
I am pronouncing it Kavil I don't know why LOL
Also, for movies I think Henry does great...TV...Tyler is rocking Superman and Lois even if I am not a fan of the show depowering him.
The military is understandable cause they don't trust this guy.
