I've binge watched most of your videos (after the BF reloads one was recommended to me by the algorithm) and I gotta say, you singlehandedly made me pick up BFV again, this time on PC. I had already put like 600 hours into it back on Xbox and now I'm on my way to do it again!
I've always found it just a little bit too inconsistent. It's really nice in semi auto, the recoil stats assume you're using burst so, individual shots basically don't move the sight picture at all
These videos got me playing BFV again, I've gone from using very specific guns and nothing else, to setting myself a challenge of getting to max level on all the guns in the game. Tempted to make my own tierlist video because man oh man do I disagree on like, half of these. But that's fine! Because to each their own. IRL the sturmgewehr 1-5 was a semi-automatic rifle exclusively, and no automatic version was ever made, I guess they just added it because the gun looks like it either is fully automatic or at-least has a fully automatic version, the rifle was cheap as shit to produce, and was armed pretty much only to the Vulksturm(basically a militia/national guard)and it jammed…often, but it was easily replaced so meh
*Volkssturm. And yes, hence the real name being "Volkssturmgewehr". It is the rifle of the Volkssturm, it is not an assault rifle. Also, there is a debate on whether it was called 1-5 or the original documentation just listed one through five in one entry.
You can reload a garand mid clip. You pull the charging handle back, press the clip eject button and the clip will pop out. Not being able to reload at any time was a video game exclusive. And the garand thumb is largely a myth stemming from the kids of soldiers playing with guns they don't understand. Edit: It seems we both managed to be wrong, and able to correct each other. The professor is correct, if you don't pull the charging handle back first you will jam the mechanism. I previously had the order swapped.
I heard you pull the charging handle back and then press the follower release, otherwise your clip could get stuck. I admit my line was misleading in this video, it was over a year ago when I didn't know any better.
Just recently started with the Breda and I've been slaying. The key for me is to change it to single shot, it feels like a Garand or jungle carbine, a bit less damage yes but, when your killing with the Garand or jungle you get in 1 scrap and your sweating running out of ammo, with the Breda on semi, you can kill more without having to reload or worry about running out of ammo.
I actually totally agree with you and think I was wrong about the Breda at the time. Semi auto Breda is now one of my go-to assault primaries. High capacity and fast reloads with low recoil and a high minimum damage.
(Don't mind me going through the back catalog of Professor Mem ranking videos) I personally loved the AG M/42 just because its so strange with the way the bolt is opened when you don't use detachable mags and with the recoil benefits you get with that side of the tree (which I used because I loved the stripper clip reloads on this gun) made this my go to assault weapon
15:30 God the M2 gives me flashbacks to when they reduced the TTK for some reason and for like 3 months that was the only viable assault primary On my personal list it’s at the bottom, not because it’s a bad weapon stats wise or visually but just through association It’s the only weapon I’ve maxed out and completed all assignments for against my will
To be honest, i use the Strumgewehr 1-5 as both a semi-auto and full auto Rifle. The Semi-auto auto function is pretty much the Gewehr 1-5 but with much better recoil control over the Gewehr 1-5 in rapid Semi-auto, But using it in single fire for long range firing is satisfying to me, and full auto for everything else makes it a multi-tool for my assault class. But i still switch things up for variety.
G43, StG44 and ag/m 42 are like E or D tier in reality despite being most overrated weapons in the assault class. 100 meter range of G43 isn't that important when you are going to lose to all the other weapons in shorter ranges and to snipers in longer ranges you also won't have lightened stock due to not wanting to deal with slow clip reloads which is extremely important, Karabin is even worse because reloads are even slower than G43's clip reloads, just use recoil buffer on G43 instead if you want Karabin you will have a better time, such a shame for such a good looking weapon though. StG is only good for people who hasn't mastered the recoil of VSG 1-5 and aren't accurate enough to use Ribeyrolles. It's a jack of all trades, master of none weapon, you won't have the fast TTK of 1-5 or M2 Carbine but you also won't have accuracy of Ribeyrolles. Ag/m 42's fire rate and non existent recoil isn't that important when you need at least 4 shots do down an enemy, you can down max 2 mostly 1 before reloads, it's like a worse version of M1A1, you will have a better time with any other semi auto except Johnson. Also how is Johnson ''really good'', it has G43 damage model, slower fire rate AND higher recoil, Selbstlader 1916 is a direct upgrade because at least it can have fast reloads with a 26 round mag which makes it a spray and pray weapon with surprisingly good results, which is a treat in SAR class, Johnson is an F tier weapon with no redeeming qualities. Real A or S tier weapons of assault are Turner, Garand(grenade launcher path, not bayonet which makes it another G43), M2 Carbine, both 1-5s and maybe 1907 if you can master the recoil and control your bursts, everything else is in between the weapons I mentioned.
I believe in Turner SMLE, M1A1, and G1-5 supremacy. Every time I have bad time landing my shots with anything else I just go those and start winning fights. All 10/10s for me. Boy did they do the Selbstlader dirty, I wish it was better to use

the smle turner 20 bullet mag was a game changer for me... i often found my self lacking ammo after first killed enemy and then got killed by his teammate next to him... the 20 mag.... boy now 3+ are not a problem... it deserves 9 in my book... as for AG m42... overrated shit... true it shoot fast and on longer ranges but you will find that faster shooting often are missed shots on moving targets, died so much cause of lack of bullets...

But as a general game statistic whore (yes I am a stat whore) the list is actually pretty nice. Except the M2. Stats alone makes it S, the players using it makes it F But anyway, even though I’m late I say good job. I love BFV like nothing other, tryhard to get everything gold, and then just pick weapons that are horrible and then godly to prove a point that guns are based off of PREFERENCE, so thanks for mentioning that as well

I've kind of fallen in love with the Breda, landing full bursts on several enemies in a row just feels so nice.

I have a m1 and the round the cones out after the grenade spits out is real. It's just an air compressed round.
