irl the chauchat was terrible each one was handmade and you couldnt really interchange parts and on that last note it was very prone to jamming also due to the weird mag type. also in ww2 john basilone fought with an m1917 handheld on peleliu island (hes the guy who they made GI joe after)

the martini henry is just a show off gun lol i find the reload too slow for close quarters unless you ambush one or two guys and pull out a mars or bodeo on them. but i def agree m1903, carcano, and g98 are best but martini henry will always have a special place

To me, the Firecrackers are S tier because I loathe Pilots and the Firecrackers are my best friend since they actually show up as a spotted icon on their POV (not on the Minimap) and they help a lot in distracting those selfish kill farming Pilots which allows me to shoot them down easily with Fliegerfausts

Cei rigotti and selbstlater 1906 (sorry for spelling I can’t be bothered to check right now) were always my favorites. Not cus they were objectively good but I always felt good using them. They felt like butter in my hands and the fact that they were a little more “make the shots count” always made me force myself to do much better. I’m not saying you’re wrong at all in fact you’re very right. Just wanted to give some love to 2 of my favorite guns in the game

Support is the best option in Bfv. You can pretty much both be supportive by supplying others, be aggressive with high firepower, and be effective against armor.

Every time I use a scope I get shot at as soon as I look down the scope because of the glint. I only use irons. It feels a lot better when you get those kills. I usually use the Lebel or the m.95. All the other are good and I can use when I want something different but those two are my favorites

1906 selbstlader and RSC1917 are top tier. Love handicapping myself, makes kills more satisfying

You hate the sweet spot because it messes with the class role. I hate the sweet spot because it’s straight-up _stupid._ If I were to shoot someone point-blank with a .303 in reality, that person would be dead. In BF1, I only get 80 hitpoints at best. That doesn’t make sense. Your damage falloff should increase with range, not decrease. The “sweet spot” is not how ballistics works. It makes Scout uniquely unplayable unless all you do is camp with a scoped rifle, which turns Medic into the rifleman class. World War I infantry fought almost entirely with standard-issue bolt action rifles, so their almost negligible presence in MP is infuriating because Dice made them virtually useless.

I wish they kept the 1200 rpm machinen pistol m1912 from the turning tides beta, I felt it would've been a competitive gun in close quarters compared to the smg 08 or automatico. It would've been almost like a bf1 equivalent of the type 2a but "balanced". Imo

I know it would never happen because of politics, but I think it would be really cool, especially from a map design perspective, to add the Chinese theater of the war to this game. Its a part of the war that Americans and Europeans tend to barely even know existed, and that Japanese people tend not to talk about, but it had huge, setpiece urban sieges, massive troop movements, and brutal last stands just like any other part of the war, and I don't think I've ever seen it represented in a shooting game. But imagine playing conquest in the Battle of Shanghai or Wuhan or Khalkin Gol--wait, you can do that in BF4, but...all the more reason to do a version where its 1938. Plus, more of an excuse to add the General Liu Rifle and C96 from BF1.

As someone who exclusively plays Support and is high up on several leaderboards... These rankings are kinda wack. Objectively wack. Top Support guns are the Parabellum, IMG 08/18, and the MG1917... My proof? Go look at the top kill weapons on the BF1 stat page. You putting the Parabellum in the C class just tells me that you're not good with it. It's for CQC-mid play. In CQC it shreds and at midrange you need to tap-fire. Why? Because the first shot is always pinpoint accurate. So you want to fire down lots of "first shots." I've got around 16,000 kills with this gun. The IMG 08/18 is basically an easier-to-control version with vertical recoil instead of horizontal, and a slower ROF, so it's not as good in CQC but it's a bit better at mid-range. So depending on if you're going to be mostly CQC or mostly mid should determine which of those two LMGs is better for you. MG1917 is solid too assuming you're not getting sniped as you try to use it. If you can avoid getting picked off, it's great at mid to long... If you're not getting counter snipped when deploying this then this gun can dominate. But any good medic or sniper will be able to get you pretty quick. BONUS TIP: take cover often. Pop up out of cover to fire but don't be out of cover long enough for a sniper to get a bead on you... So pop out of cover, engage, and pop back into cover. Always be thinking about nearby cover. And if you yourself are engaged, break off whatever you're doing and get into cover. Don't stay out in the open trying to counter a medic or sniper because by the time you get a fix on them, they'll have killed you (assuming they're decent). And the Benet-Mercie being S-tier? Nah.. That's insane. It's a laser beam but it's slow ROF and only has 30 rounds. Lots of Support guns are nearly as accurate but with other perks (i.e, faster ROF and more rounds)... I haven't looked but I'd bet if you went to the stat tracker website and looked at support weapon kills, the Benet-Mercie would be close to the bottom, right above the pilot/tanker guns... I very, very rarely get killed by it and when I do it's embarrassing. And it'll be because I'm already weakened. In a full health 1v1, I'll beat a Benet-Mercie player 99.99% of the time. PS - Here's my beast mode loadout: whatever guns you want, Ammo Crate, Frag Grenade Launcher, Gas Grenades... Constantly be resupplying yourself. Gas grenades are the best because it goes through walls (and via damage ticks can tell you if there are enemies there), they force the enemy to put on a gas mask and hip-fire, and you can resupply them super fast... The incendiary are better for short-duration hard crowd contol but for constant crowd control, gas is the best. I say constant because the gas grenades last precisely as long as it takes to resupply them, so you can constantly have gas deployed. I've got over 100 service stars with them. Easy kills 'and' good crowd control = 👌
