    "The hammer is (ahem), *aftermarket...*" That got a good chuckle out of me.
    Despite never having played Palworld, I really enjoyed your dive through the weapons on this game: Both how they chalk up against their real-world counterparts with history and design details included, and how they function in game.
    If you plan to make this a series going forward covering other franchises, I'm all for it and I wish you luck!

    Honestly, you can't really blame 'em for mistaking the spencer for a sharps. To the untrained eye, the guns look EXTREMELY similar, with only small minor differences.

    24:57 I heard somewhere that spin-up before firing mechanic in games is unrealistic since most rotary machine guns need less than half a second to reach max speed of rotation, but idk if it is true so I just wanted to add it as a suggestion

    • @professormemsclass
      @professormemsclass  9 месяцев назад +2

      Ah, thanks for that input. I'm sure that many games punch it up, but a short spin-up is still a spin-up. I just found it jarring that the minigun started and stopped on a dime.

      Month old comment but fuggit. There is no “spin up”, it’ll fire virtually immediately and the amount of time it takes to get to full RPMs isn’t noticeable. All rotary guns work virtually identically, it’s basically X guns in a circle with a feed mechanism and a way to turn it all. As soon as it starts spinning, you put the whole system into motion. With 6 barrels, you’ll start firing within however many milliseconds it takes for the high torque electric motor to rotate the thing less than 60 degrees. They will keep firing after you release the trigger until everything stops spinning too.

    Another possible irl counterpart for the Handgun could be the LAR Grizzly, which was basically a sized-up 1911 capable of shooting many of the same calibers as the Automag, and even the 50AE. The Grizzly looks very similar to the pistol in the game (minus the jagged shaped parts), especially the chunky grip and slide. It also came in nickel and black. Ive only ever seen the Lar grizzly in one mobile zombie game so idk how widely known it is

    • @professormemsclass
      @professormemsclass  5 месяцев назад +1

      I at least have heard of the LAR grizzly before, and it has been covered by the likes of Forgotten Weapons, so it has some notoriety, and it is most definitely a gun that would fit in the category of what I hypothesized the Pistol to be. However, being that the Grizzly is heavily M1911 based, it has many of the same discrepancies as the Safari Arms Matchmaster, in fact the Grizzly is somewhat of a center point between the AMT Automat and the Matchmaster, but not even one of these guns is a perfect match for the details on the Pistol, it seems to be a truly unique design that has a basis in the 1911 while branching off in the shape of it’s parts to be more angular, which I liken to the Automag.
      Also, I regret not mentioning this in the video, but the grip is very Desert Eagle, which is something now of these match either. It’s pretty hard to put this Pistol in a box, but the LAR Grizzly is a good comparison.

    The assault rifle might be based on the K2? Or perhaps another one of the Daewoo rifles in that family? They share the same similarity to the AR-15 in the lower receiver’s design and the K2 has a folding stock.

      @professormemsclass  8 месяцев назад +1

      It’s possible there’s some influence from there. Since posting this video the most concrete new revelation I’ve come across is that the folding charging handle-looking element seen on both sides of the gun looks very similar to a kind that can be found on versions of the DRD Tactical Paratus and Aptus rifles.

    31:20 to note that text, wasn't there a battle rifle variant of the HK416 in the HK417? Come to think of it that gun's chunkier appearance and magazines seem more fitting

    • @professormemsclass
      @professormemsclass  5 месяцев назад

      To me the in game magazine at least seems to be pretty clearly based on 30 round intermediate cartridge STANAG magazines, and while the HK417 is generally chunkier and tends to be seen more often accessorized, the handguard furniture itself is not all that different.

    Most miniguns or rotary guns dont spin up because they have electric motors

    • @thatgamingprotogen7043
      @thatgamingprotogen7043 7 месяцев назад

      Many rotary cannons don’t need to spin up but some do spin up and stay spun up before firing for less strain on the internals as the larger caliber(20-30mm) have many different ways to operate, I’m referring to the Vulcan ciws or the AK 630-II as a few

    I wouldn't be suprised if all of the guns were assets that they acquired from hopefully the unity store. The devs undoubteldy did very little actual l original work on this game.
