You are a breath of fresh air with your no-bullshit, factual, non-biased reviews. Top notch 👌
Thanks a lot.
Analogue dials, physical buttons and switches…hallelujah!
Legit was one of the reasons I went for it, compared to the Ranger
Criminally underrated content.Excellent review.
@@intrusivethought Thanks!
Not sponsored by Ford like carsales and car expert. Great review
@@richardtimms6645 car sales did the triton justice though , what I liked about car sales is that he reviewed the offroad modes in the new triton thoroughly.
He understood how it works and explained it properly unlike car expert.
Car expert made the new triton look incompetent , but it was his lack of understanding of the drive modes.
Test drove and ordered one. Waiting on the dealer to deliver... yet to see one on jamaican roads.. hoping to be one of the first few people see.😂
Nice review , the 0-100km time is good, under 10 seconds,
Also what i have seen with the new triton, when you are going on trails or light offroading, you should use the mud mode.
The mud mode only becomes available when you select 4hlc and 4llc , it tunes the traction to be more aggressive.
Like when wheels are not touching the ground and the other wheels have to compensate to get you out of a hole.
nice camera work and excellent review. You showcase stuff other reviewers do not. I ordered mine already. CHeers m8
legit, the gls looks better than the gsr
I feel the new design looks good, unlike most.
It's a great looking truck , what I would have done though is have the grill and dynamic shield black on all models.
I am not a fan of the body colored grill on the gsr , especially on the orange one. I have seen a gsr with a darker color and it looks much better than the orange one.
I have seen someone put some bf Goodrich tires on the new triton and it totally transformed the look of it. Looked amazing
Especially this silver grey version reviewed here
Both of them are 🤮 that motor sounds horrible
Embarrassing all round
@@warcrabcyber9908 I agree with the grill. I'm getting a GSR in a couple of days and would've gone with orange but thought it was a bit much in the front so went with graphite grey instead. I still might see if I can swap it out for black down the track but for now I don't mind.
this format for all your next videos. RELATABLE.
Some things to note for the new triton: 1. Brake traction control works on the front axle when the rear diff is locked.
2. Brake traction works with terrain select for better performance.
Excellent review, love your attention to relevant detail
@@mindofown Thanks
Excellent review, thanks for making it.
Best fuel usage I've got in mine was 6.5L\100km i was really impressed! That trip was with the missis so makes sense going slower
Just me in the truck 8.1- 9.5 higher number is when I'm hammering it
Hmm im getting 25L/100km best. 10 in a normal day to day travel with traffic why everyone else seems low?
@@CC-tk9xw Maybe ease up on the accelerator? That sounds very high.
@@CC-tk9xw 25!!!?? Are you flat to floor in the middle of the city lots of stop and starts? That would do it
Normal city driving you should expect 10 -12.5L
Jesus mate. I average around 7.7 in mixed highway and suburban daily driving, and by no means do I drive like a nanny, but also not guns blazing.
Excellent motor journalist video
Seems a bit noisy for a 2024 model, all these bloody driver monitoring things are required for ANCAP 5 start rating, I think the manufacturers have all bought the same module from the same supplier as none of them work, more annoying than safer driving, as long as this model is reliable like the old one it will sell.
@@-PORK-CHOP- the issue is the mitsubishi version is intrusive, and unsafe. Subaru nailed their safety systems and the ease of switching OFF. Kia did the same too. Mitsubishi is the first mainstream brand to have this stupid thing on the steering wheel, making noises at you for no reason. This is the primary reason I'm not buying thus triton. Prices be damned, the safety systems ARE the safety risk
Electric assisted power steering has been around since start of 2000, reliable and quiet. Big trucks had it from then as well. Beats hydraulic oil compressors and hoses and drive belts.
Agree this is a far better option then a Musso
This trim level looks elegant and sophisticated. The top spec looks like a shiny plasticky ebay special.
I got a brand new company car and returned it a week later.
Never have I been more distracted driving than in these new modern things with driver attention monitoring and constant beeping and random symbols and icons popping up every 23 seconds.
I nearly crashed last week because it suddenly starting blaring a buzzer and a giant message popped up saying ive been driving for an hour and consider having a break, just as i was entering a roundabout.
Are all these gizmos really making anything more safe?
@@nathansharma87 Totally agree. They actually reduce safety in my opinion, introducing yet more distraction.
Great review, i have a 2019 model and not totally convinced of this upgrade being worth it yet. Also noticed that when overtaking, its never any good if you are following a caravan. Your honest assessment is good to hear though. Cheers.
Solid sir, only gls beat other brand
Interesting that your review of off roading is what most owners will have to do, whereas other "Expert" review claim the Triton is awful off road, I guess it must be the "driver".
You can't go wrong with 4H (re: RWD bias AWD) when doing regional travelling on wet and dirt roads which is the huge selling point of Super Select 2, and to be fair same applies to Ranger/Amarok (both in v6 spec only) and some of the China brigade also have AWD ability.
My former employer got there new Triton's* delivered to them a few weeks ago and so far (from what I have seen) fuel consumption is sitting on 10L (still very very new and breaking them in) but I do know one was taken off road by one of the managers to there regional property and the review back was better than previous gen Triton and as good as Ranger.
*They are replacing the fleet of GM Colorado (which are now 5+ years old) with Triton as they got a good fleet pricing deal from Mitshibishi which are keen again to sell to fleets.
The issue is after long term ownership of the MR, people are saying their economy is now worse which begs to question how this new triton will be after a few years
I know which expert you are talking about , he literally botched his entire review, he didn't understand how the drive modes work and he won't accept responsibility, the drive modes are very important in the new triton depending on the terrain.
If you go to car sales . Au and look at his 2024 ute review , he breaks down how the drive modes work on the new Triton in real time.
He did what the expert did , then adjusted it on the correct mode to show you how the modes affect the Triton offroad performance in real time. After seeing it I laughed at the expert , because the expert was claiming the old triton is better offroad when in fact the new one is better.
Better yet you will see how the new triton fares against the new and improved dmax offroad. You will quicky see why the new triton is superior to the dmax and bt50 offroad
@@positivepete4265 - I don't own one , I am only going off what I saw on the "Fuel usage report" for the 3 Tritons the company now has as part of there fleet (which will soon be 10 as the Colorado's are getting relaced one by one by Triton).
Well the "new" engine" has way more get up and go and a lot less lag (a LOT LESS) and as such with more torque and top end power the engine will consume more, owners will have to figure that out for themselves. I can see why Mitshibishi stayed with the 6-speed auto over going for an 8-speed one (as per Pajero Sport), I don't think that is the issue for extra consumption, the new Triton is heavier than the previous gen, that is the main issue.
Just on the Colorado, they were pretty durable for the most part, the main reliability issue "electrics", once they got lots of water in the engine bay and did not dry out properly there would be issues with everything from electric power steering to MAF sensors and every year changing 12-volt batteries (which are not cheap), also rear differential leaks and suspension (dampers) blowing out as they can't really carry max cargo weight for long periods as they start to sag and blow out, never had that issue with Ranger or Navara (D40 versions). shame that GMSV are not bring the new updated spec here and getting Walkinshaw to convert them to RHD, then again there is no "turbo diesel" option out of the Mexican production facilities.
@@warcrabcyber9908 - spot on I agree, I guess "Paul" can stick to his Tesla. Bret driving on a muddy / wet grass traps is what most off roading is really like and he did it all in 4H with LC and used RDL to see if it made difference, the "expert" was never good at giving "advice" lol.
Dude...answer your sms's....380. !!!!!!!..good review also :)
why?
I am glad you pointed out value ,
Premium vehicles. Ranger , amarock
Value is the rest and it show in all of the value vehicles, most likely buyers cannot afford a premium vehicle so cheap and nasty ,is what is left
have they improved the reliability on there turbo,s
Good balanced review. We all know its not a Ranger but good tonsee a review that just doeant diamiss it as a capable vehicle
Thank God it's not a Ranger. They are shitboxes
I love my new MV GSR 😊
if they can figure out how to get around the stupid emission laws without having to use ad-blue ide trade my MR triton in a heartbeat
Way faster than the MV Triton you also tested before. That one took 12 seconds w/o brake hold. What was the difference with this one? Could outside temperature cause that big of a performance difference?
Maybe this one has had the engine broken in or something, because it's definitely faster than the gsr he tested before.
Two possible reasons for the different times;
1) The initial test was done on an early press vehicle with very low kms. The engine performance improves as engines fully wear in etc.
2) I only did 2-3 runs with that one as it was during the press launch event, and on a public road - I had limited time to test. With these tests on a private road I have more time to concentrate and make sure I try out all drive modes and so on.
And yep, colder temp definitely influences performance as well.
Hope that helps.
Edit: GSR kerb weight is 2170kg against GLS 2125kg. That might make a difference too.
Wonder if Mitsubishi field tested before release in Ukraine battle field, trident is the favourite vehicle of UAF brothers.
Capable ute with a great warranty..
Smaller screen in the GLS?
Typo in the title of the video mate, misspelled "Triton". Will make it easier for people to search for if you correct it. :)
Great review, and yes in the rush to buy cheap utes I think aometimes people miss out on the value of buying a quality ute from a serious manufacturer (not to mention it's better to send money to Japan and Thailand than to send money to China.
@@mahcooharper9577 Whoops. Thanks mate 👍
That's a nice truck. Thanks for the review.
Btw, when will the new gen HILUX come?
The updated HiLux is available now with 48V mild-hybrid tech (video coming soon). All-new generation isn't expected for another 2 years or so.
Maybe the old Mitsubishi diesel has a Renault turbo fitted now, they have a whistle going on in their turbo diesel cars and trucks.
What do u think of the annoying safety system, and compared to the MR, lack of paddle shifters?
The safety systems are annoying, especially the driver monitoring camera. I can't see what benefit it brings (in all cars not just the Triton); I turned it off every time I drove it.
The lack of paddle shifters doesn't bother me as I wouldn't typically use them in a vehicle like this. You can always use the gear shifter to knock it down gears down steep hills etc. But yes, I guess it might bother some previous-gen owners.
@@drivingenthusiastaustralia thnx. Yeh the safety systems make no sense. If anything, just make it a profile setting like you said. And all people have to do is press one button and it's off. Fine if it turns on by default. But pressing .multiple settings every single time will be the actual distraction.
Only just fast enough to be allowed on 2024 Australian roads, only just.
Given the price point, it makes sense to compare this with the new Cannon Alpha. They now play in the same sandpit.
@@bernardpeel7133 Review of that coming soon.
Whats your recommendation for someone who wants to become a car reviewer? How do you get the cars to review? @@drivingenthusiastaustralia
@@drivingenthusiastaustralia brilliant. That will be a popular one, I reckon.
What's the price on these things are they reasonable ? If Mitsubishi started selling these in North America holy crap I think they would sell like hotcakes.
very reasonable compared to the competition imo.
Rear seats still don't fold back. Why, Mitsubishi, why ??
Same with my Mitsubishi 380, you seldom see them at Bunnings.
Track race the GSR is perfect number One champion always become the winner defeated Nissan GTR, Honda NSX, Mazda RX-7, Volkswagen polo, Subaru WRX STI, BMW, Mercedes, Toyota supra, Ferrari 355,
I'm holding onto my aging 2013 Triton Dual cab until they can design something I'd be proud to drive. Both this current model and it's predecessor are two of the ugliest Dual cabs on the road.
Current Triton owner here but the new ones are well down the list of dual cabs I'd buy. Aside from performance and suspension issues, they are close to the ugliest new dual cab around.
Do
All these
Ancap bs safety gimmick make these more expensive ?
@@OZOZOZ968 Yep, they would add to the overall price for sure.
EPS = biggest weak
Too ugly tho…

looks are subjective, I've seen them in person and they are good for what they are.

Neither of them are lookers but I reckon this is way better looking than the previous shape.
