Basically if midface is long we're screwed. I have quite a unique case, which makes me look deformed. I have close set eyes, a long midface (nose), but NO gummy smile. Actually, when my mouth rests open, you can't even see my teeth. My philtrum is already short. So I guess I'm screwed, because not even surgery can save me. It's unbelievable though, because before puberty my face used to be in proportion, and during puberty my midface grew downwards. Now I can't barely breathe through the nose. GG

you should try mewing, chances are it got that way because of poor tongue posture and mouth breathing

@@cherrzi3931 search it up for more depth instructions ill try to sum it up. basically keep your tongue on the roof of your mouth and focus on good neck and overall posture. also people seal their lips and stuff at night so they dont mouth breathe. look into it
If you have a long face you need width so widening the maxilla which adds zygomatic width and then you also need to widen the mandible for proper bite. If you don't achieve the full aesthetic look you can use maxillary implants and mandibular implants but you will already reap the health benefits of the expansion in the form of improved nasal airway and oral volume .
In addition there needs to be shortening of the lower third through MMA counter clockwise advancement surgery. Jaws should never be moved back but forward for airway, health, and aesthetics.

i have a gummy smile and i don't have much of a jawline and my jaw goes into my neck so basically quite recessed, would you say that's the reason as to why i have a long face ? whenever i smile my top lip sort of protrudes a lot and even when my lips are closed. i also struggle to keep my lips closed and have noticed i breathe through my mouth. would the procedure you have explained benefit me ?

So basically we should seek a consultation with a doctor to see what else they can alter to give our face more balance and symmetry. I really hope mine can be fixed 😭 luckily I don’t think it’s too bad, just want some slight changes
Is there a way to make the upper eyelids fuller toward the nose? My eyelids are more hollow in the inner corner and I would love to have them look fuller and also have no visible eyelid crease.

My lower face stretched because of orthodontics, my molars came down and face looks longer. What would you recommend for this? Some have said that a chin reduction would fix it.

Is it possible to reduce philtrum length and make facial width to height ratio (fWHR) a bit higher? I think that is what most patients want when they want to shorten their midface, so their upper lip could be moved a bit closer to their nose .

What can you do about close-set eyes?
Nothing can be done about close set eyes, if you're ES ratio is below 42% and everything else about your face isn't perfect to compensate for that, it's impossible to become a hyper attractive person, it's impossible to be hyper attractive with horribly spaced eyes, now if you're ES ratio is between 42-45% there's some tricks you can do to make an illusion of wider set eyes but your actual spacing can't be fixed because of the positioning of your eye orbits, another problem of close set eyes is they also tend to make your midface longer which if the midface ratio is too low, will give your face a narrower and horsier appearance

I asked my friends and family and they say that they never even once thought about my eyes as close set. They say I might have body dysmorphia because every single time they don’t see what I see, they say.
The reason I thought why they were close set is because the eye glands are close to the root of my nose but then again the root of my nose isn’t narrow, it has a nice width. Also, my eyes are big and long and with eyeliner even better. They almost reach the lines of my face, which could be why they don’t appear close to people. And since I straightened my brows I'm very happy now with how it all looks, for now.
The only thing left ist my lower cheeks. See, when I smile I get my desired face shape, because then the lower part of my face rise and become a little bit wider. The mid-face or whole face then appears much smaller and shorter. It looks good.
Can I achieve this through surgery? Without having me to smile *all the time*
I think for that I have to lift the corners of my lips and do a mid-face lift, shave my chin a little bit and fill my cheekbones a bit (the higher part of my cheeks, below my eyes) with maybe fat grafting?
What do you think?
@@hyunkittyy You would have to figure out your ES Ratio to determine your eye spacing, a great way to determine if you have a long midface i.e "horseface" is to use the rule of facial thirds, if the middle third is longest, that means you have a long nose and can't be fixed because your nasal sil itself is long

Hello, we can shorten the jaw and reduce the cheekbones but not the whole face. But depending on the length of your upper jaw and the nerve lining in the lower jaw, reduction can be limited :)
