  • After building my first comp style SCX24, there were some things that I could improve on for my local competitions. So I decided to just dive into another new build! This time, there was even more that I wanted to build myself though!

    An inspiring underdog story. All you need is skill, hard work, some liquid tungsten and access to the Vanquish factory and you too can dominate the local mini-comp! Seriously though, as a 1/24 enjoyer it’s awesome to see you push the limits! Looking forward to more.

    great video, as always actually. great that you have finally found joy in the small cars. as always great work. I would be very interested in the files for the chassis. The links shouldn't be a problem as they can either be printed or built, as we already do this ourselves for the 1/10, it should also work in small. I have been looking for a really compact and well balanced 1/24 performance car for a long time. So if you put the files online or sell them, that would be a dream.

  • @VermontScaleCustoms
    @VermontScaleCustoms 7 месяцев назад

    Nice win! Couple of nice saves in there. Good driving all around. So, you have enough tooling to build cams for bending nice arced links for high clearance. Personally, I've been using a brake line bender. 2mm all-thread with 2 mm I.D. stainless tubing. I cut off enough at the ends with an Imp tubing cutter after the bends are done and thread on my ends. Slick AF. But, a guy like you with the resources you have, seems like maybe there's a sweet product line in the future that would have some higher end stuff for the 24 scale market. Maybe? Happy New Year to you and yours and thanks for all the laughs on Live Stream.

    • @HarleyDesignsInc
      @HarleyDesignsInc  7 месяцев назад

      I do prefer solid material links compared to sleeved links but the bending process isn’t much different. For such small diameter links, if I was looking for a radius to be bent to, I’d like just 3d print some dies to work. Or I’d use the BAC industries mighty rod bender which comes with many different radius options. I use it for cage fabrication as well when using solid material.

What I like about BLheli_32 is that I can use an android phone to change settings, but with the am32 the slow crowl it’s smoother but you need a computer for settings. The gate width is huge. Super 8s with wide wheels wouldn't clear our gates.

    • @HarleyDesignsInc
      @HarleyDesignsInc  7 месяцев назад +1

      Most definitely the case for us too at our local spot. My overall width with the Super 8’s and these OGRC axles are both about the same as a stock AX24 because of my custom wheels.

    Can you tell me more about those rod ends?

    • @HarleyDesignsInc
      @HarleyDesignsInc  7 месяцев назад

      They are from Amazon, I searched M2 rod end SCX24. They have bent and straight options. The pivot ball is only 4mm wide instead of 5mm though so it has slop in the pockets unless you shim them.

      Unless it was for a competition class, I don’t think so. I’m only into these for the competition 😁

    2nd comp looked like it had some ridiculous gates for 1/24. Did anybody make those hard gates?

    • @HarleyDesignsInc
      @HarleyDesignsInc  7 месяцев назад +2

      There were a few gates that almost everyone hit. On the second run I ran a clean course except the last gate. But there were a lot of people that pointed out (50 pts) before they finished.

    Would Josh compete in a box-stock class? What if it was the only comp class offered?

      I probably would, but definitely wouldn’t be as much fun for me. The design and engineering is my favorite part.

    Imo These trucks are definitely silly!! And the fact people spend so much money on them is also silly!😂 And imo it's helped ruin the market because now all the 1/10 have gone up because they realized they could charge x amount for 1/24 little guy meaning its reasonable to charge x amount for the 1/10. Maybe when I'm 95 and can't physically go somewhere to crawl, I would consider buying one, but not until then😂
