If I'm being honest with you, your pricing is way too expensive. a lot of us don't have enough income to even pay what you're asking. Some of us don't have any income at all. If you could offer sliding scale payment options or even full ride scholarships to a few people a year who really can't afford it, that would be amazing.

You know what I think is critical? Other children in school, and parents often have too negative expectation and so it doesn't work. It needs to be people who you can "look good" for. When it's people that don't expect much from us or who give us negative vibes (steal Dopamine) it just doesn't work. And this is why in class in school I couldn't do anything and mothers want to dominate and we want to avoid domination and ourselves, well we are to easy or dismissive of our own view of ourself. This is what I wanted and didn't know existed like this!

The Limitless Pill moment is 100% accurate.
I spent 5 years at uni struggling through the first 3 years of law with SHIT grades - pre diagnosis. My favourite tutor said im not a bad student, she recognized my adhd behaviour bc her son has it and told me I should see a specialist.
Then within 1 year of getting diagnosed, i finished 2 years worth of study with great grades, completed 2 placements, got my first good job, a huge promotion and first job as a lawyer. My relationships are better, I feel more like myself, I've started actually working on my hobbies and I'm even better looking too, because I don't get stuck inside playing games all week long now.
The difference is unbelievably huge. My life went from a 6 to a 10/10 almost instantly. Life is easy, its fun and you can just do everything you want to now.
If you think you might have adhd please get dianogised, you won't understand how much better everything is afterwards.
Vyvanse is a huge part of how I deal with it, but I've seen others have an experience using it that's similar to the author's.

I was diagnosed with ADHD (combined)this year. I am 52, the only benefit I can see about my ADHD is my lack of caring about the future. I have had the following jobs, policeman, private security contractor, bodyguard, night club bouncer, salesman and chef. With a brief stint as a bus driver.
One thing I have had an ephihany about. You can never be anyone but yourself. I have an extremely strong attraction to jobs or activities that are potentially lethal. I have no fear of death, it doesn't even factor into my decision making process.
My entire life I have been masking trying to fit in and please others. When all I want to do is be in the most chaotic places facing danger because that is the only time I feel normal and be myself.
    I refuse to medicate myself.

I study at a target university and was recently diagnosed with ADHD. I initiated the process because of my first ever panic attack caused by the enormous workload I had to tackle. Since then I changed my life around: I exclusively work in co-working spaces and choose my friends very selectively. In addition I purposefully tap into my natural curiosity for almost everything. Topics that seem uninteresting at first glance can be intricate and beautiful on close inspection. All in all this helped me achieve great things. But I still feel down a lot as everyone does and especially we do. But in these pits I try to picture my dreams and compare myself to people that inspire me - this gets me going like it's a matter of life and death. I do not let ADHD dictate my life. Telling yourself over and over again that you are great in what you do and that you can achieve what you want to achieve, even if it seems absurd from an outside perspective or you're not there yet, but who tf is gonna believe in yourself if you don't even believe in yourself. ffs as someone with ADHD you have to be a bit over-self-confident. Because we tend to be the opposite. My Why in this world is not your Why, but when you finally find yours, you'll go to the moon.

Thank you so much for all the work you have done for so many. I've just been diagnosed, and I am going to start on medication. From what I have learned ADHD'ers typically stop using drugs after 1-2 years. I asked my psychiatrist about this, and he said it often was because of depression, that was linked to not regulating the doses along the way. I will give it a try. But I am no dreamer (anymore), and I love my ADHD-traits of creativity, multi-ideamaking, being present and funny, even if nobody else does. Well. I watch your videos with gratitude and interest. You have already taught me a lot. Keep on being real to yourself. Respect.

Personally I’ve found (& also my adhd friends would agree) that Ritalin, Concerta and mediknet cause emotional flatness to the point of being a zombie, whereas Dexampetamine and elvanse (the slow acting version of it) give you a lift (not a high) and it eliminated my depression immediately.
Seeing as I’d been wrongly diagnosed with major depressive disorder for over 30 years, to have it instantly obliterated in one tablet and to just feel ‘normal’ was a true miracle.
The reason they prescribe the first lot first is down to cost only.
      (At least in the U.K.)
So don’t be afraid to try them all if need be!
Never had adderall so can’t comment on that.
Elvanse keeps your brain awake and ‘on’ but you should eat a protein meal before taking it, it takes up to 2 hours to kick in and you may find you go off food and can’t sleep on it.
For me Dexampetamine was much better as when it wore off I realised I was hungry and could eat, and I could also sleep fine!
Elvanse is just Dexampetamine with l-lysine (an amino acid) that slows it down - however you need l-lysine to stop cold sores and if you’re prone to them I found it can make them come back. Not seen that info anywhere else though!
      Good luck! 😊

    • @yan_lia
      @yan_lia 10 дней назад +5

ADHD can be basically broken down into your inability to focus on things that do not give you enough dopamine/happyness. Thats already the explanation for your issue, I believe, but the important thing to note here is that the person you are trying to vibe with doesnt really matter as much in this regard. If you, at that moment, are not immediately impressed or drawn into by that person, then its hard for you to vibe with them, because your brain is already trying to convince you to look elsewhere or listen to that weird sound or was there a cat? Etc.
Best trick that worked for me was paying attention to whoever I'm talking to. I'll try to find something interesting, either in their looks or in what they talk to me about and focus on that in the conversation. Smalltalk is just really painful for people like us, so try to skip it whenever possible and talk about something that interests you. If there is currently nothing interesting to talk about, but you still want to like this person, maybe their reactions are cute enough whenever you trigger them. I like to do that sometimes.
Very important to let THEM do the interesting talking though. If you just talk about whatever interests you, it can be quite bothersome for the other person and if anything you're more vibing with yourself at that point. But if they are able to talk about something thats new and exciting for you, thats a great way to enter a new relationship. Because you have it technically easier to hyperfocus on something that interests them as well, its very easy to make new friends thanks to ADHD (sounds weird but its true), especially if they are driven by something that you can empathically latch onto.
tl;dr: Find people who are interesting or have hobbies/dreams/ideas that you would enjoy learning more about. Its simultaneously educational, sociable and works great with your ADHD hyperfocus special ability.

It’s been long known now that ADHD is just a different pattern of thinking from the neurotypical. It also means you probably have a calling that requires the traits that come from ADHD. Even if that’s not the case, God has a will for our lives. If mines to deal with this neurodivergent brain then alright. Just let God have it and never, ever think he isn’t listening. Yeah as someone who has tried the study buddy method, I’d suggest whatever app you use to simulate this you have notifications turned ON for that person (your accountability partner) specifically AND make sure there is an innate trait that you really like about them. The high regard you have for them will cause you to want to put your best foot forward for them.
If you interact with the person beyond studying (like, talking about life and whatnot) it shouldn’t get boring.
Chances are, for him, there may have been a sense of financial guilt if he didn’t check in because of how expensive it was, so that may have helped him as well. The financial guilt probably went away when he split the price but at that point he had a whole community counting on him so the personal accountability was tenfold.
Also, honestly sometimes I don’t get bored of something as easily. I used to have a planner that was undated and it had a unique layout. I kept using it until it started falling apart (only a couple months in 😔). So usually the boredom kicks in and sometimes it doesn’t which is why I give everything a try. Because you may have found that one thing that will never bore you.
If it’s something you’re really worried abt, I’d suggest alternating between study methods. Usually after 3 weeks, the previous “boring” method may have gained some novelty or “nostalgia” to it.

4:27 reminds me that, I often say that I am a Mac in a Windows world. Windows doesn't understand Mac files and Mac doesn’t understand Windows files without converting, and it's almost always the Mac that has to convert its files because Windows rarely bothers to try to understand the Mac.
It's funny that, even though we make up only a small percentage of the population, it's often those of us with ADHD or other neurodiverse brains who are behind the most innovative solutions, especially in technology. Many of us have probably experienced that feeling of being able to 'sync' our thoughts with a stranger, only to find out they also have ADHD. I consider those situations very rare among neurotypical to neurotypical.
We struggle with structure and planning - things that are quite necessary to bring good ideas to life. Often, others end up taking credit for our ideas or shooting them down because we can't completely 'convert' them to their way of thinking. Even if we get 90% of the way in understanding their system, we still feel like it's our fault if we don't make it the last 10%.
With ADHD, you often have unique perspectives, especially when combined with high intelligence, but creating structure, planning, and consistently bringing an idea to life can be a significant challenge for us with ADHD. Society generally looks down on these difficulties - you can easily be perceived as lazy, for example. Ironically, it’s often the same people who criticize us who could greatly benefit from our perspectives. Their strength lies in acting on a good idea, but they are rarely the ones who come up with them.
Imagine an invention created by an inventor who has spent years developing a brilliant prototype. The inventor has a unique vision and talent but struggles to find the right resources or team to take the idea the final step to market. Another person - let’s call them the “producer” - sees the potential in the invention and takes it under their wing. Because the producer has the necessary contacts, resources, and the ability to structure a business plan, they end up receiving all the credit, money, and recognition for the invention. But the invention would never have come to be without the inventor’s unique vision and creative effort.
Even though the producer might not have been able to come up with the idea themselves, they still get the credit because they can navigate the system, follow processes, and take the lead. What is often forgotten is that it was the inventor who created the original concept - and without them, there would be nothing to realize.
Or in a group setting, whether at school or work:
The “ADHD (Mac)” person presented an idea that the “Windows people” once agreed to dismiss, but it may resurface later, once their subconscious has processed it long enough, and suddenly they feel like the great inventors of something groundbreaking. Forget about getting the credit you deserve - it’s one of those situations where ignorance and lack of understanding get rewarded. Ironically, these stories almost always end with only one loser: the person with the creative mind.
When the idea reappears, and they present it as something brilliant, the person with ADHD might say, “That’s exactly what I suggested two weeks ago.” But that comment is usually met with indifference, and if the person insists on receiving even a small amount of recognition, they are often seen as petty or childish. This makes it harder for them to be acknowledged in the future within the group, as the social hierarchy takes over and downplays the significance of what the person with ADHD has to say.
It’s an incredible injustice to experience. When you’ve been criticized your whole life for your difficulties, and when you finally bring something valuable to the table, you are still denied the credit. In many cases, the only thing left is the stigmatized image of the person, and that is something that intelligent individuals with ADHD, after experiencing this countless times, grow extremely tired of. What do you suggest, Nick @ADHDVision ? How do you protect your ideas so you don’t end up just helping others with all sorts of problems without getting any credit for it?

No joke. At 40 I went to my doc in a major depressive state. I already had an adhd diagnosis and was on medication so we started antianxiety meds. We tried so many different meds. Nothing worked. Then one day she suggested we go on adderall. I had been on all these other meds but no one had ever suggested adderall even though I had the adhd diagnosis. After taking those meds my whole life changed. I couldn’t be without my meds. It was such a switch up for me. I purposefully take breaks from the meds. Let them over prescribe them for me so I always have them when I need them and I used the burst it gives me to change other habits in my life that make everything better. But if I took the amount they say I need then I would never sleep again and I’d be an aggressive jittery mess.

Sometimes just thinking about people watching me gives me a boost of dopamine and sometimes go live illustrating and the audience effect happens,. You want to perform at your best and impress others that are watching you. If im in the room with someone doing work its not the same, but if someone is actively watching me do something I get a sense of performing like when I would dj in front of an audience. Unfortunately I do my work alone in my office and have fell of social media where I would do art releases so my sense of social community is also gone and I have been struggling with executive paralysis because of this.

I love this kid. He knows his sh*t and I believe that he genuinely wants to do good and build an ADHD community. It’s spooky how relatable his anecdotes are and his ADHD hacks rule.
However, I’m getting major Trudeau, Mega-Memory vibes? (you know you all have a memory palace) And it was way too long, read the room young man.

I don't even know if i have adhd or not.. I just really know the cycle, of trying everyday, telling yourself that everyday is a new day, using every grain of your willpower, and even succeeding.. until you realise that to achieve that so called "perfect day".. a day without mistakes, in which everything is done on time exactly how it should be... It was taking an insane amount of effort, so much so that i couldn't sustain, and i ended up in severe burnout.. Now I am scared of putting more effort than is necessary.. I find it difficult to organize myself and am anxious everyday

I'm trying to start my own RUclips channel or Podcast soon and I think it would be absolutely great to perhaps, just maybe have you in one of them? I know it's a far leap from a random viewer. Nonetheless, I will continue to watch your videos :) Saviour for sure.

I believe that adhd is something that develops in a child's developing brain. To high negative reinforcement and to low positive reinforcement locks the child's brain in a defensive state. When a child become to focused on not doing things wrong instead of doing things things correct. One might think does two things are the same but they are not. There are endless ways of doing things wrong and usually only a few correct answers/ways to things.

i have ADHD too, and want so desperately to better myself, especially after how much of an impact the first video had on me. And while i do understand that it's hard to sit and focus for 52 minutes straight (Trust me I will struggle a lot too), it's an insane amount of ungrateful people in here complaining about the length & holding the uploader accountable as if he's done something wrong? He's literally made an in depth tutorial on how to drastically improve lives and all i can i see so many negative comments pertaining to the length? Like at least take a minute to appreciate the level of effort; i'm sure that MAKING a 52 minute video wasn't easy on someone with an ADHD brain either.
thank you for your efforts, i'm gonna watch this video in shorter, more digestible chunks to make it easier for myself :)

German here as well, and same, everybody always told me I was lazy, that I didn't want to do things I had no interest in. yet my grades were okay even tho I rarely bothered to do my homework and rarely learned for tests. now I'm in therapy (at nearly 40yo), let's see what we find out. but these videos are already super helpful to feel better and to learn some tricks for learning and doing that paperwork I never understood (I also got help from a social worker with that), etc. so I'm defo not lazy, or I wouldn't be where I am now. so for those who got that kinda feedback: look at your lives, and assess, with honesty and kindness toward yourselves, what you already achieved. including the small stuff; sometimes life is super hard and even the smallest accomplishment is a huge victory in context.

Ah, I know this feeling too well. you sit down to procrastinate, and suddenly you find the exact thing youve been needing for weeks.
