Puddin, you are my favorite man on this earth. I am a 76 year young lady and I just love your videos. My Daddy was a jack of all trades and the best. He taught me mechanics ( plus I took a mechanics course in my 30’s). He also taught me carpentry and electrical. I do miss that man. I can’t do much now but I get my kicks out of watching you working on those cars. I had a 1948 Plymouth restored from the ground up. She would run with anything on the road and man did I ever run her. Keep up the good work as I sure do loving watching you and your humor.

My car is actually a satellite but am cloning it to be a RR. I go ahead and call it a RR since more people know of road runners more than satellite. It has been in my family since I was born and my grandad gave me the car when I turned 16 and it was my first car and since he passed last year it lit a fire under me to get it going again. Because sitting on your ass won’t finish your project!

I don't know if you saw it or not Puddin, but you got a shout out from Cory Wheat Customs a couple weeks ago. This 58 Apache is the little brother of the '59 Viking 60 he build for (and with) his wife. That truck is insane over the top, bagged, and goes to ground. Sick-ass machine. He's got an old IH like the old wheel hopper, he's got one the floor in progress that is a 4 door LoadStar. At any rate he was picking an old car for a project, saw a Luv truck and said something to the effect of "Hey here's one for old Puddin'" 🤣🤣🤣

That was cool, brought back some good memories. The 235 and the 250 were the engines in most of the trucks I own over the years. Keep up the maintenance on them and did light repairs. These engine would run basically forever ( actually very long time before a rebuild) if you did the maintenance at the right intervals. Another thing I thought that was really great is the way you modify the bolt so the rockers could get oil.

Just some friendly info, 235s don’t need an oil filter, they where an option and people say it only filters 30-35% of the oil anyway. You can just cap it off at the block, when you feel oil pressure is more important then filtering. Some 261s are not that way though and they look almost identical, so… the more you know.

Not only is she a sweet looking truck, she’s done up in Puddin Fab Shop blue, I swear Pott county was the only place you could get that blue, seeing as most of your vehicles have it LOL. Really enjoyed this episode, had the right amount of tinkering and part replacement, and you’re right she sounded real nice at the end, not sure who rebuilt the motor for Slick’s family, but they’re damn lucky you’re giving it the once over, because you’ve found a bunch of stuff that needed going over and fixing. And I can’t wait till you ship internationally so I can start my collection of Puddin’s Fab Shop merch, and represent where I live.

Good catch and fix on the oil problem! Reminds me of the time when I was a kid I helped rebuild the engine of our 57 Studebaker. I put one of the the rocker shafts in backwards (it was a v8). When we got the engine running, the first thing we did was drive to an auto shop where we knew a Studebaker expert, to check it over. He told us to take off the valve covers, and sure enough the valves on one side of the engine weren't getting oil. Lesson learned: when you rebuild an engine, check that the valves are getting oil.

In fact, the lowest sale auction for the truck is recorded at $6,380. Now if you happen to spot a Chevy Apache in pristine condition, you can expect to pay up to $140,000. That's quite a jump! And the average mint condition Apache can easily cross the six-figure mark.
