This was my dream, to put 335d or 330d engine inside my 06 Le Mans Blue M tech 120d. But my country has a shitty law forbidding putting a bigger engines into the same chassis, so i planned to buy 116d in Poland and they do the work (one company these swaps) and provide me clean papers for importing it. But life happens, i am father now and i am driving c class WAGON. But i am not giving up, once i have a budget i'll do it.
Looks like there’s more space in the engine bay than my 130i had with an N52. The 436M’s look good on the E8x. Shame they’re boat anchors because I quite like the design.
So funny you say about boat anchors, as I mentioned a very similar thing to harrison about them as well! But defo suit the car & the engine looks like it should be there from factory 💪
@@wds_originals they’re a good looking wheel but so god damn heavy. I thought they suited my M140i well but I seemed to be in the minority because most other owners hated them. The channel that collects dirt did my head in though. 😂

Hy, do you have wiring diagram? I swap e81 118d n47d20c 2010 with bmw 325d m57tu2 2008. the engine runs, however, not from the injection, I think there is something wrong with the cables, also because the control unit doesn't indicate the accelerator.

How did you handle the wiring? Were the looms plug and play and how about the ECU pins? This is a project I'm very interested in as I've got a mechanically spot on 1 series and a rotted out 330d
Luke, as with anything it’s doable, but time effort & perseverance is required, honestly wiring wasn’t too bad to get it running and driving, but if you want full abs functionality and certain other bits it would require more wiring & studying. All depends on donor car, and what age of 1 series you have, as there’s various different ecu/wiring options along the years. Hence why I didn’t show wiring in this video as I don’t want others to copy it and it be incorrect for there car! 👍

Question. Are you having negative camber issues at the left front wheel of the car? At 1:39 I could see the strut tower is slightly damaged/bent (If you look at the nuts holding the top mount the studs are not equal to each other). Im asking because I have this same exact issue and am trying to really narrow it down to this actually being the cause of the negative camber problem.

This car was built on a budget, easily doable for £0 if you buy a donor car & sell the bits of donor car, or if you buy engine on pallet £1000 - £1500 if you do all the labour yourself. 👍

How long did you build on this car? I thought, it would be a lot harder to swap from four cylinder to a six cylinder engine. And how long was the preparing phase?
Blown up and built all in the same month, actual build time less than a week labour, parts and delays with building another car at the same time (Alpina D3 M57) accounted for the total build time. Very easy swap buddy 👍
Thanks, I have an e82 with the N47 engine. It's a shame they didn't make a 3L engine in the 1 series. I plan to swap my engine next year, I would take the N57 from the 330d or 530d. I just have my doubts about what all I need to swap. Engine unit, ABS, dashboard, etc?
@@fabianmangold664 get yourself in the m57 swap pages on Facebook, these engines are very simple & have been swapped into multiple chassis including Ford transits, Land Rover defenders, pajero’s and all sorts, anything’s doable with the correct research my friend 💪

Swapping it to a 120d is alot more work, you need to have a 123d because whole driveline and gearbox etc is the same as 330d

@@wds_originals they do look good….my favourite wheel on the E81/7 though is the 216 but I am biased having had a 130 LE.
I like the original 208M's. They look good if they are refurbed Shadow Chrome like the E39 M3 Color.

Yes, coding needs to be done to write the m57 ecu with the 1 series modules etc too 👍

Heathrow prop shaft services made a custom prop, 330d front half 320d rear half with length change.

All depends on supporting mods etc, they have been know to push 600hp plus, but that’s with some work 👍

No, the 120d diff ratio was very similar to the m57 diff so had a custom prop made and job done 👍
