This is absolutely haunting…. It gave me the same feelings that Disturbed Sound of Silence and Johnny Cash Hurt did. These covers really allowed the lyrics to tell their heartbreaking stories how they truly wanted to be heard.
@@elizabethparsons1071 Oh definitely. It is incredible what David Draiman/Disturbed did with such a classic song. Loved the original, love the cover as much or more.
The only thing that I could debate is what we call this. Disturbed most definitely covered Sound Of Silence in my mind, as the melody, harmony, and everything else related to it is essentially the same. I can't speak to Johnny Cash's Hurt; it's not something I have had the chance to hear, nor is the original. I think Falling In Reverse labeled it correctly when they said it was a reimagining of the song and NOT actually a cover. While the lyrics are the same, the melody only has a passing resemblance to the Papa Roach song, enough to pay homage to it, but (in my mind, and opinion) not enough to be considered a direct cover of the song. Of course, this is probably splitting hairs, and both versions are incredible for what they are and what they have given us.
I remember as a kid just jamming to this song and not paying true attention to the lyrics until I became an adult. Ronnie's version highlights the true depressing nature of this song so well. It hits so different.
I'm not really a fan of Papa Roach a lot of the songs got that Limp Bizkit/Kid Rock type sound which isn't my thing so I never knew what this song was about till the cover came out and just ripped my heart out and crushed it, such an amazing cover I've had it on repeat non stop.
This rendition gives me new respect for Jacoby and what he must have been going through when this song was written. The original is such a banger you don’t get the impact of the lyrics. Ronnie woke this song up and opened up gave new meaning to it. Love both but this just got me. Depression is real. Great reaction. Give the wife some headphones. 😂
I can't remember any song that hit me square in the chest with such emotion and actually brought me to tears like this did. Well done once again, Ronnie.
The added visual symbolism really adds to this - not only the crumbing buildings - but the fact that at the end - they _reform and rebuild themselves._ Really fitting, as the band is called _FALLING IN REVERSE._ It's uplifting. It's overcoming what has dragged you down.
Just as you have the ability to tear the world down around you, you can will it back together. The buildings didn't reform and rebuild themselves, he rebuilt his world.
Honestly Alex, I never really heard the lyrics as a younger man listening to Papa Roach, but this version had a way of really reaching in and tearing out your darkest feelings and putting them on a plate in front of you to feast on.
I would LOVVVVVVE a whole album of reimagined covers by him... he's so amazingly talented and RIDICULOUSLY underrated as a vocalist but also as a musician...
He's definitely not underrated lol, everyone knows how insane he is, considering Everytime he comes out with a new song, it ends up a masterpiece, it breaks the fxckin internet and people go insane over it XD
@optimusprime7243 you are entitled to your opinion the same as I am entitled to mine. I feel as though he is underrated because a lot of people don't see how he is not just in a singer in a band but a talented musician as well. He KILLS the piano and sings beautifully. Not just rock, but heart-felt ballads like this. He is a musical genius in the way he does his "reimagined" songs.
Dude every time I hear this it legit chills me to my soul! He breathes this song into a new level of existence!! I’ve never felt this way with any other song!
Nice reaction to a great song , as per usual . Also much love to your wife , her spontaneous bits and comments are the extra bit of spice i never knew your videos needed . As far as suggestions go , i think you'd love the group “Caskets“ .. they had some really great songs like “Guiding Lights“
I'm glad I'm not the only one that does this. I have like 10-15 reactors that I watch on the regular and when a new track comes out that really blows me away I will watch them all. Back to back if possible. I feel I have a great grasp on music and meanings in songs but I feel like I have become so much wiser because I listen to all the other views and I learn something new from every single one of them!! You could almost say some of these reactors are in my top 5 people in my life, at least an aspect, and that's made me a better appreciation and understander of music.
I do the same! Currently on Tour of Reactors for Last Resort. LOL. Watching someone new experience FIR is one of my favorite past times. ha! But I also love their take and digging into comments for good nuggets of information. I have learned a lot in doing that.
This song was a cover that I didn't know I needed and wanted but here we are, and I'm absolutely in love with it! I saw it the day it came out and it gave me goosebumps! Much love from Arizona 💜💜
Ronnie’s vocals sound so haunting and it really makes the lyrics shine in a different way than the original. So freaking good. Eiley by too close to touch would be a great song to react to if you haven’t already!! It’s also very emotional and chilling
One of your reaction colleagues said: "Ronnie´s voice is the purest form of mortal struggle" - that is..probably the biggest compliment, and on point ways to describe a master. Thank you Alex. You hand out some master reactions too, and always have other nuances to your evaluations. Thank you for doing this.
Love the reaction. But not enough people are talking about the end of the video and how a cover ties into an ordinal they did “Watch the world burn”. Really sick stuff.
The song is beautifully complex . The use of the string quartet is on point and I never could have imagined it delivered like this without seeing it for myself . The song has a unique cinematic feel to it!!! I love Hearing your take on songs
I'm surprised how many people didn't realize how deep the song really is I love Ronnie music video yes your world can fall apart around you but it's never too late to put it back together that's something the original doesn't have Ronnie's like a fine wine he gets better with age
I was waiting for your reaction! You never disappoint. This song is so beautiful and haunting 😢❤️🔥. My take on the end is the world after WTWB is repairing itself, but he’s still not fine. 😔
Love it too .. its like hes bringing back what we as teens used to listen to and rage in anger and defiance of our parents.. Now hes doing it like hes been threw some shit and singing to our adult selfs.. loved it
Okay WTF Ronnie! First he does this with his own songs, now he's covering other bands songs and doing the same thing? What can Ronnie NOT do someone please tell me, what can Ronnie Radke NOT make sound beyond words incredible? OMG! I LOVE this song and this makes me LOVE Ronnie and Falling in Reverse even MORE! Anyway this song HIT/SMACKED me HARD, the lyrics are so hauntingly beautiful and relatable I've been really struggling with depression for the last few weeks now. The last couple of days have been the worst, I've NEVER thought about taking my own life or cut myself and I NEVER would. BUT this song is depression/anxiety in a nutshell, the raw emotion in Ronnie's voice is insane. You can feel it in your soul literally OMG! I'd LOVE to see Falling in Reverse live, I'd lose my voice screaming the lyrics to all the songs they played. Popular Monster would make me have zero voice cause I'd scream the lyrics to that song so loud, I'd bawl my eyes out too, and if they played this song I'd cry harder.
This band never disappoints. They are always on top. Every music or other they create is a pure and huge masterpiece. Thank you for your reaction Alex, I was looking forward to it 🙏
Went in looking forward to rap hip hop metal and maybe a touch of drama... Found my heart on floor. It bled out all my emotions. My life changed two years ago, rather not focus on it, and the lyrics are more relatable than ever. Goddamn.Ronnie, it's not fair giving us some of the dopest metal out there then make us feel again with a powerfully emotional performance.
Alex, my man, YOU ARE SLEEPING ON SOAD, its been 3 YEARS since u checked a new song by them(2020 the last time u reacted to a SOAD song) here: SYSTEM OF A DOWN MIND and War? (Audios, not music videos) also u are sleeping on Slipknot underrated hidden songs: Three Nil, The Blister Exists (also audios, and The Blister Exists isnt that hidden or that underrated but still dope 🔥)
Absolutely one of my all-time favorite bands and singers. Ronnie could sing the phone book w/ elegance and grace. I just hope he sings this when we see them in 2 weeks ❤❤❤
Ive posted this on a few other reaction vids.. but personal story for me... Goosebumps...... just.... goosebumps...... And quite a few tears.... 😭 The original song, came out at a godsend moment for me. I was dealing with a relapse (for lack of a better term to use) of a medical issue in my late teens that had my lungs randomly collapsing. Was in a really dark place due to the constant collapses + scars from surgeries..... the Original is what kept me from staying down and gave me the strength to claw my way back out of that pit. THIS is how i felt when i heard the original.. THIS is what i was hearing when i heard that original song... its what gave me the courage to not back down and give up. Yes i was 'head-banging' to the original (i even do the same to this version, just at a more sedated pace), but the feelings THIS song give.. are what i was dealing with at that moment... 5:16 = that moment when i was at my lowest during those days, literally teetering on a knife-edge ...... 5:21 + is what this song, in its original form, did for me.
I want to say, like the most unexpected thing about this was, that there was no huge rock breakdown at the end. And I think for this song, i loved the decision to keep it visceral and emotional til the end. And that it brought the flames back to heal the world, rather than the end of watch the world burn. its a cool duality, or maybe its just an easter egg connecting the two.
This cover song is an entire vibe! It's so beautifully and masterfully done. Absolute masterpiece! Ronnie is truly at the top of his game right now and changing the game completely with dtuff like this. Very impressive! There's a video of Jacoby reacting to it as well. It made me do happy to see the mutual respect for each others talents and see how far they have both come as artists since they started. Amazing!
I love both versions so much but for two totally different reasons. One for more of an angry, anxious depression, the other for the really low, deep melancholic depression.... like two stages of grief....If that makes sense... Hard to explain... I cant get enough of this one though 🖤
I just love Ronnie's ability to arrange and know exactly how to phrase words and what keys to sing it in and all with that fullness and dynamic range. He just knows what to put where. Thanks Ronnie!
I was in a dark state of mind after finding out my gf had miscarriages and next day I got fired from my job; and this cover song described every emotion n thought I had n then I see this reaction and this.. THIS.. made my week so much better Ty Alex for reacting
Great reaction Alex!! I'm 46 and a HUGE fan of the original. When it first came out...EPIC! Ronnie's take is absolutely beautiful. ❤ The lyrics have never hit me this hard. Imo, both versions are PERFECT! Just saw FIR and INK on Thursday, and this song shook the entire venue 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Yeah as kids we were too busy rocking out to really pay attention to the lyrics. Ronnie's version leaves you with no option but to listen to the lyrics.
I've been waiting for you to react to this! I couldn't agree with you more. I cried the first time I heard it. Now, for Ronnie's reaction to your reaction lol. Much love and great reaction as always!!❤
I think what I found amazing about this is: the original is still the anger coming through, so depressed and done with it all that you're pissed as hell and wanting to still scream it to the world, let everyone know. This version? The screaming is done, the anger has all drained, and all you have left is the empty resignation that things will never get better, I'll never be fine..... THIS is my fate and I've got no fight left in me. I feel haunted because I've definitely been in THAT place before... resigned, completely out of fight... just resigned. *shiver* Yeah, don't ever want to be back there again.
I've always liked this song, but never really knew the lyrics that well. Now listening to this, I get it. What a beautiful tribute to papa roach. Simply incredible.
I've obviously heard the original.. many times.. but I don't think I ever paid attention to the lyrics cause damn, wasn't expecting this!! I think the heaviness of the original is the reason, they just wouldn't seem to "fit" I guess. This is heartbreaking!
I seen a comment on another platform that said Papa Roach version is us as angry teens and the falling in reverse version is us as broken adults. Definitely a legit version no doubt.
The first one of course is amazing! Played the heck out of that version. This is the version we didn’t know we needed. I’ve had it on repeat as much as possible.
Been sleeping on Falling in Reverse but I couldn't ignore all the hype on this song so I had to listen to their other stuff as well and I am happy to report that their stuff slaps🔥
It gonna lie…. I wasn’t sure I’d like this because I’m such a huge fan of the original Papa Roach version (huge Papa Roach fan!!!) However, it’s a completely different song when FIR does it…. So incredibly beautiful ❤
The amount of emotional trauma this version unlocked for me is just unfair. I was an angry teenager when the OG came out, and resonated with me. This version feels like a grown up version of it since that rage and anger has turned into a painful understanding of my trauma.
Also some Currents would keep you busy their new album is great from start to finish. Found them 6 months ago and been my favorite since. Ik on your last vid I mentioned 2 songs, but honestly they are all great.
The paino ❤ and his vocals, the range ,this gave me chills 😢 it was like he let it all out his past , the doubters , him being incarcerated his past troubles. You can hear the screams in his voice 😢❤ so good ❤❤ It's because of this and all that I said makes this song more meaningful
his videos of him with his animals always makes me happy... and btw welcome to marriage 🤣 - its a mix of "what?" "huh" "why are you yelling at me through the door?"
Fight Fire With Gasoline - by Self Deceprion, Its a Swedish band that has played a while. Their first album was 2009 but the best song they have ever made whas on the newest album that came Febuary this year. Crazy great song and insane talent, if you have time to spare, CHECK IT OUT - Much love and GREAT videos!
Nah, Papa Roach’s version is so much better... why can’t this fella write his own music? It is irritating seeing some so called artists these days using already classic songs... that is just lazy 😡
"it's a little unsettling for the stupid idiots of the world" hahahahahahahaha also love how your wife talks shit lol. such a beautiful voice and song!!
For you all haters who say original is better, that’s not what Ronnie was shooting for . It’s all about the message and how it is being received. This song was never meant to be rocked out to, it’s a shut up and listen song.
I’m an Aussie, and have been waiting for you to do this, I checked yesterday. Its3.59am here and I can’t sleep so look at my iPad and here it is!! Never clicked so fast in my life! The original song was not well known here, so I had never heard it before. This is fricking beautiful!! I musically am in love with this man and his voice, and the piano always does it for me (classically trained pianist here until I discovered boys). I did go and listen to Papa Roach after hearing this, polar opposites of each other in the delivery. I love this song much!! And major kudos to @SeanRooneyMusic for the stunning piano arrangement again. just wow!!
Thank you so much for your response to this amazing composition. Without a doubt, it cannot leave anyone indifferent. Living in Ukraine, you acutely feel when your own life is torn to pieces under the impact of bombs, the deaths of your friends in the war, and the screams of mothers mourning their children. All that remains is to shout: "Losing my sight, losing my mind. Wish somebody would tell me I'm fine. Nothing's alright, nothing is fine."
When he says the line about losing his mother…that hit raw, especially knowing he grew up without his. Did you catch the end was the reverse of ‘watch the world burn” ending…??? He healed the world, not burn it.
This is absolutely haunting….
It gave me the same feelings that Disturbed Sound of Silence and Johnny Cash Hurt did. These covers really allowed the lyrics to tell their heartbreaking stories how they truly wanted to be heard.
Same. I love it when other artists do this. It makes the lyrics hit you 10x harder.
Yo man ! You described it so damn well!
Sound of silence covered by disturbed was an unbeatable masterpiece imo. It's a truly stunning work of art

💚🤜🤛🖤
Im young but both kinda relatable
So true! ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥 This song means so much!! His voice is amazing!!
100% agree!
Ronnie melted my soul with his vocals on this. Last resort got me through high school so this hits hard for me.
I used alot of music to get me through high school

Man's got actual operatic skills.
Same senior school was a rough ride.
Shit talkin thoughts door 😂😂😂😂
One of the best things I've seen lately is Ronnie being nervous to show Jacoby his version of Last Resort :')
Papa Roach brings the anger in this song. Ronnie bring the sadness. Both are absolutely epic.
Was waiting for your reaction!!!❤😊
Watch Ronnie playing the song for him and being like so nervous to hear is feedback. There's so much warmth in it.
I remember as a kid just jamming to this song and not paying true attention to the lyrics until I became an adult. Ronnie's version highlights the true depressing nature of this song so well. It hits so different.
Also, Sean Rooney plays the piano, but Ronnie does a great job making it look like he's doing it.
Lmao that's my life, girlfriends like are you talking to me? Haha
Masterpiece❤😊
I've noticed that most reactors don't pick up the fact that the end of the video is the opposite of Watch the World Burn.

I think what I found amazing about this is: the original is still the anger coming through, so depressed and done with it all that you're pissed as hell and wanting to still scream it to the world, let everyone know. THIS is my fate and I've got no fight left in me. I feel haunted because I've definitely been in THAT place before... resigned, completely out of fight... just resigned. *shiver*
Yeah, don't ever want to be back there again.
Ronnie is the most versatile artist ive ever seen 😮💨❤️🔥

I wasn’t sure I’d like this because I’m such a huge fan of the original Papa Roach version (huge Papa Roach fan!!!)
However, it’s a completely different song when FIR does it…. So incredibly beautiful ❤
The amount of emotional trauma this version unlocked for me is just unfair. I was an angry teenager when the OG came out, and resonated with me. This version feels like a grown up version of it since that rage and anger has turned into a painful understanding of my trauma.
The best part about this is JACOBY SAID HE LOVES IT!!! RONNIE PLAYED OT FOR HIM 1st before releasing it.
More reinvented than reimagined. It's a masterpiece & Ronnie is now my favourite vocalist on the back of this track, I cannot stop listening to it.
Also some Currents would keep you busy their new album is great from start to finish. Found them 6 months ago and been my favorite since. Ik on your last vid I mentioned 2 songs, but honestly they are all great.
I’ve loved Ronnie since I heard “Popular Monster “ he describes exactly what PTSD and depression feels like
Really brings out the meaning of the words. Love it. And yes, I love that his voice can be both operatic & clear but also raw & edgy.
The paino ❤ and his vocals, the range ,this gave me chills 😢 it was like he let it all out his past , the doubters , him being incarcerated his past troubles. You can hear the screams in his voice 😢❤ so good ❤❤
It's because of this and all that I said makes this song more meaningful
his videos of him with his animals always makes me happy...
and btw welcome to marriage 🤣 - its a mix of "what?" "huh" "why are you yelling at me through the door?"
Been waiting for your reaction. 😍
Don’t go by bring me the horizon.
I love this song it’s so powerful yet so beautiful. The video is amazing too!. These lyrics really hit hard to me and a lot of people I know of.
“Mi novia se me está poniendo vieja” by Ricardo Arjona and make sure you have the translation, I promise you will end up cryimg
Skillet psycho in my head!
Nah, Papa Roach’s version is so much better... why can’t this fella write his own music? It is irritating seeing some so called artists these days using already classic songs... that is just lazy 😡
Pungent can absolutely refer to flavors, my man. The flavors of garlic, onions, and black pepper all fall in the pungent category.
#1. As a chef, pungent smells give pungent flavor. #2. I love your wife. #3. This song is unbelievable.
Best part about being his is…JACOBY SAID HE LOVED IT!!!
I feel like he did for this song what Johnny Cash did for “Hurt”. Amazing!
"it's a little unsettling for the stupid idiots of the world" hahahahahahahaha also love how your wife talks shit lol.
such a beautiful voice and song!!
When You Are One Of The Best In The World 🌎🌍 Fuck The Rest. Legit 💯.
For you all haters who say original is better, that’s not what Ronnie was shooting for . It’s all about the message and how it is being received. This song was never meant to be rocked out to, it’s a shut up and listen song.
FINALLY!!!!!! I have been waiting for your reaction. I loved how awe-struck you were at the beginning.
This was the sequel to watch the world burn and it was fitting this was a masterpiece!!! Dam onions 🧅 😢
And major kudos to @SeanRooneyMusic for the stunning piano arrangement again. just wow!!
Interesting video 😮you should do a your wife is funny you should do some more I prevail comeback kid
Thank you so much for your response to this amazing composition.
Without a doubt, it cannot leave anyone indifferent.
Living in Ukraine, you acutely feel when your own life is torn to pieces under the impact of bombs,
the deaths of your friends in the war, and the screams of mothers mourning their children.
All that remains is to shout:
"Losing my sight, losing my mind.
