Great review. I agree with you on the BSA - Gamo naysayers. We’re in a global market these days and BSA might not be around if it weren’t for Gamo’s investment.

Yes you could be right BSA might go down like THEOBEN did THEOBEN was the best air guns made in the UK at the time, a lot of the air guns built today copied THEOBEN with the air bottle and the magazine.

    Hello My friend,
Thank you for a great review of this beautiful, capable air rifle. I have the same model. I had a little bit of an issue with it. Mine wasn't consistent, and when cronoed, it was shooting at 13ftlb. I returned it to my local shop, who returned it to BSA under warranty. Within a week, it was back me, shooting fine again. I love mine, I think it's great, and I think its a beautiful piece of kit to own and use.
Personally, as far as Gamo are concerned, I just think that generally people would like to see BSA, especially with their history, be under their own steam and not be controlled or influenced by anyone else. I'd like BSA to be BSA, doing what they think is right and how they choose to do thingsl. However, finance, Gamo controlling BSA, etc? Who knows, there may be more to it than that.
I have the Walnut stock option. With regard to the non chequering on yours, looking at the material, maybe it didn't work on the laminate? Is it plastic coated wood? I honestly couldn't say, though I think that could be a reason. Maybe the chequering was difficult to cut?
Although I've heard of people having problems with the magazines, mine has been fine. They're easy to load. They have a counter and a last pellet indicator. I don't think BSA can do much more than that. They're great to fill with air and I like the location of the pressure gauge . The safety catch is well away from the trigger.
Overall, I think it's a great air rifle. Used properly, respected, and looked after, I don't see a problem. I'm very pleased with mine and cost wise, I think it's better than some more expensive competitors. Upto now, touch wood, a great experience.
    Thank you.

Gamo rifles aren’t bad. I’m sure a lemon appears now and again, but both mine are great. Out of all my break barrels, including a Weihrauch HW97KT, a Diana 34EMS, and a Sig Sauer Asp20, a Gamo Swarm Maxxim, and an old Gamo Hunter 880, I shoot the Maxxim the most. Maybe I’m just really lucky, but mine shoots very well, and comes very close to the accuracy of the more expensive guns. And the ten shot magazine has worked flawlessly. To me BSA is Gamo’s luxury brand similar to how Lexus is to Toyota.

I bought one of these guns today from my local gun dealer. It wouldn't hold charge. I promptly returned the gun, and they gave me a replacement. It is holding the charge and i'm going to give it a go tomorrow, fingers crossed.

I love my R10 but hate the black pepper stock. Really wish I’d bought the black tactical stock as the laminate just doesn’t grip well in my saddle clamp on trigger sticks. I need to get a black tactical stock.
