They listened to their fans. And it's worth it. Just look at the sales for S7 Edge guys. It's impressive and even beating iPhone 6S sales! I cannot wait for the next Galaxy S8 and Galaxy Note 8! It's definitely gonna be a tremendous phone. What a year for Samsung! Well done.
HTC was consistently winning "Phone of the Year" and "Best Design" awards over Apple for years but never made a dent in iPhone sales - HTCs still generally run better ( 0 lag, less bloat) than Samsungs but get overlooked. It's all about brand... people want what OTHER people have whether it's the best or not. That's why Apple was caught deliberately understocking it's new phone launches to increase launchday queues. Probably also why Jaime has been caught out several times telling HTC off for copying Apple's 6s design... which Apple stole from HTC.

Both Samsung Galaxy S Phones and iPhones are great. No need to debate between the two. It really depends on what kind of phone suits you and your needs and what you're accustomed too.
If you like specs, great software and hardware like OLED screens and no need for iTunes and a lot of customization then it's Android for you. If you are a hipster, an isheep and don't mind paying a lot for less then the iPhone is your perfect phone. Really is personal Preference. Even though I will never get iPhone user.
Software wise apple is better. Hardware wise android always had better ( $ to $) vs apple. Ease of use (transfer of files to computer etc) , android wins a whole lot, just plug to a pc and select and edit files you want like windows, apple needs itunes. Resale value , iphone wins.

I have both, I am an avid fan of technology. I collect both cheap and expensive phones except windows phone, i have a windows tab tho. The problem with android phones is the software, if you stick with android - make sure the software is good (certain versions of cynanogen mod is better). IOS has better software but is more restrained- and the interface is kinda wired to apple stuff.

It's been 16 hours with 2 hours of sleep .. this phone is out of the world and the future. From iris scan to the gif select. Man this phone has everything.. oh wait the battery like is stunning 13 hours of videos to playing with apps and the battery is at 32% . Which means it can easily survive 15 hours. Also did multitasking too. The phone doesn't hang. I am giving this phone 2 years of commitment.. never commented on RUclips ever so this is a lot coming from a silent reader

Remember, that was the first battery drain, and it may take a couple charges until it settles to its full potential. Believe me, batteries do that kind of stuff.
Looks absolutely beautiful. Stunning, gorgeous, it's all true. The only problem is that I felt the same way about my Note 2. And also my Note 4. I loved those phones but neither lasted 2 years. My Note 2 just completely stopped working, one month shy of 2 years old. I took it to Samsung repair and they wanted $300 to change out the motherboard. So I used an old Blackberry for about a month until the Note 4 came out. The Note 4 was awesome - until it wasn't. Kept rebooting, until at about a year and a half, it was doing it about 30 times a day. Did a factory reset several times with no improvement. Samsung wanted $85 just to simply diagnose the problem. Currently using a VERY old iPhone 4S (works perfectly - albeit as slow as you'd expect from a 5 year old phone) - waiting for the iPhone 7. I love ya Android, but twice bitten...

And the Note 4 is sufficiently advanced that there's No Technical advantage that a newer phone gives you, which outweighs the value of a fresh battery that you can Pop in anytime.

The excitement of the note series is just not there.. I want my note phone to be a PHABLET not a s7 edge.. They should have made the screen size between 5.9 to 6.3 in..with dual stereo speakers.. That's how a note phone needs to be in 2016 not this garbage beefed up s7 edge nonsense.. When I hold a note phone I want people to stop and stare and say " dam that's a big ass phone"

Oh my god.... I plan to get this beast in late October when my plan ends, but I can't decide on which color i want to get. Black is so sexy, sleek, and brilliant in its simplicity. However the Blue is so flashy, gorgeous, and unique compared to every other phone. ITS TOO MUCH!

+Alphonso Cabrera I have seen a lot of reviews that show the so Edge as pretty average if you are using it as a phone rather than watching RUclips videos all day. The 7 series is optimised for the youth market so it gets great media SOT, but for Internet, downloading, intensive stuffand making calls, it is not so impressive for such a big battery. But for all but power users 4-5 hours gets you through a day mostly.
My phone always reports like nine-ten hours and I rarely get more than three hours of SOT
Dont make to much from a 24 hour "review". Read more descent benchmarking. Of course it's the first discharge and i always experience a disappointing SOT from the first one. Besides that: he doesn't say much about the circumstances like brightness and what he was doing.

There is no scientific reasoning behind a battery discharging faster on its first discharge. Check the battery note 7 used, its different than s7edge etc, it will have the same discharge now as it will in 30 days

As for scientifics.. Batteries are made of two types for phones, s7 edge uses one kind and note 7 uses another. The property of note 7s poly doesnt need time to adjust like others phones. As someone who has had apple phones since the 4, the note 7's camera in low light is incredible. I'm thinking of switching back over now.
How is the headphone jack audio output? The S7 US models were very lackluster, any improvement?

Google Now Launcher also restores homescreen's folders and since (I might be wrong here) 5.0 that Android automatically restores applications directly from your account/device (yes , you can choose if you have several devices).

When on Verizon, could you be on a call while using the data with the note 7? I'm currently on ATT but may consider switching if they could buy out my current plan. I do like the option of using data and voice the same time, it saved me a few times.
Got mine yesterday. The Smart Switch was super handy. Very elegant design. This replaced my Note 5. The Note 5 is wider but feels more bulky.
