Thank you so much. I found you last night and tried this routine. It was very calming. Within 30-45 minutes I fell asleep and stayed asleep for the first time in years! This will now be part of my bed time practice. Again, many thanks.
Have been doing this for a month. When I do, either before bedtime or when I have woken during the night, it works. I do about 5 minutes sometimes more! just because it feels enjoyable. Also it seems to have brought an increased awareness of yong quan in the souls of my feet. Thanks ..
Thank You so much for this, Alex ! 💎 I started exploring Qigong again recently & had stored this video in my "better sleep" list. Today, it's 6:30 am, the birds are waking up & I'm still not sleeping, simply because I wasn't tired. Now I've just tried this for the first time & started to yawn right afterwards. Your explanations are crystal-clear & I appreciate your energy & your tone of voice. As a matter of fact, I've subscribed to your channel & I have the intention to explore it in the next days. Thank You for sharing ! ✨🤗✨🙏☺️🌟✨ I usually read the comments of valuable videos & I've noticed a few interesting questions other people have asked, that have been left unanswered. It would be great if You could answer their questions. Not only them could benefit, but also all the people like me who read the comments subsequently in order to deepen their understanding. 🌼 Bliss to You & ALL ! 🌼
@@sl4983 Zolpidem (aka Ambien) has lots of side effects, some of which include hallucinations and extreme sexual behavior (and having next to no memory of the romp afterwards) -- and sometimes, it has the exact opposite effect and instead of knocking you out, it keeps you awake. I was prescribed Ambien off and on for a few years so I'm speaking from first-hand experience. It's great when it works, but sometimes, randomly it just doesn't. And considering the potential for being habit-forming *and* abused by some people, I'd 100% argue that natural methods such as Qi manipulation through Qigong are a much more ideal solution to insomnia. Not to mention, Ambien is just treating a symptom rather than potentially curing the disease, which Qigong has the potential to do, if one can determine the culprit of the insomnia.
I tried this for the first time tonight, while doing this I noticed that my legs were feeling very stiff, the shift wasn't flowing easily. I am willing to do this most nights to get more benefits, thank you, i have been looking for something simple like this ❤️
I hv been dabbling in this 15 yrs went over seas to learn ,they didn't speak English , you explain and demonstrate much better so I hv rapidly jumped back into it , feeling great thank you brother 🙏 💙 😊 😀
Thank you. The exercise is thoughtfully broken down and clearly explained. I like it that you added the dimension of the transference of qi from right to left and vice versa. Can you explain how this particular exercise affect sleep? Swaying motion like rocking yourself to sleep?
I tried this for the first time tonight. I don't have much trouble sleeping anymore ever since I started taking a daily medication that slightly sedates me, but I figured I'd try this anyway. After I stopped doing the movement and got in bed, I started feeling a subtle wave of... *something*... wash over me. It's calming. It's quite comfortable and it's certainly making me sleepy. But this peaceful, subtle feeling is something new to me. If this is what Qi manipulation feels like then I'm already completely sold on Qigong!!! Definitely going to try a morning movement tomorrow after I wake up, to see how different it feels! Xiexie! 🙇🏻♀️
Thanks for the follow-along video. QUESTIONS: 1) How long to do this for? Reps? 2) Where does this exercise come from? Any particular lineage/teacher/system? 3) What makes this exercise particularly good for sleep? What are the mechanicisms, TCM or otherwise?
hi Alex, thank you. I will try this. There seems to be a slight delay from the heel being raised and the arm then being raised. Is this correct or should they both be raised at the same time.
Hi I am relatively new to Qigong, I am studying with Master Chunyi Lin and started my Qigong course about two weeks ago, doing the breathing exercises everyday, healing sword fingers, small universe opening channels but I am having terrible insomnia...i have had insomnia for a few years now but finding that this last few weeks it has been worse. I am doing the opening of the universe exercises,( breathing through all 12 points in the body in circular motion from Dantian down, up the back and down front back to Dantian, usually around 7 in the evening, do you think this is causing insomnia ? I will try these exercises you are presenting and see if it will help. Thanks best Rolf
In principle, qi gong exercises should not be done in the evening as they raise your energy level which would naturally make it difficult if not impossible to go to sleep.
For me is not to drink green tea or coffee or eat weird chinese herbs or I will most definitely get insomnia. Or have anyone gik say ngor in cantonese. LOLs.... I have not tried in conjunction of those things before happening.

Is this useful in insomnia
Thanks for Sharing. In Yoga we have the "Tanav Mukti Kriya". You fall asleep within minutes.

I have debilitating insomnia. I will try this tonight!!
Zolpidem helps when needed. Don't be debilitated by insomnia if you don't have to be.
