Nostalgia is the word. Was driving up the coast with my wife and kids and for some reason, I asked her to reach over for that J.Masic and the Fog disk that was burnt for me years ago I’ve never listened to and have been in a J, Dinosaur binge ever since. 48 years old now and some of these songs have been the closest thing to a time machine there is.
I’m not found of his voice personally but I just realized what an amazing guitarist he is. And the Dinosaur Jr trio is probably the best "grunge" band (I don’t put Sonic Youth in this lot). I believe Kurt Cobain once told a journalist Dinosaur Jr was his favorite band. I love Nirvana’s music and think Kurt had a far better voice than J.Mascis, but he clearly never reached Mascis’s guitar play level imo (I don’t say it was a goal for him).
this actually may be keeping me alive rite now...hope you got through things w/your spirit in tact...Im somehow twisted up in what i can only describe as my own custom designed personalized version of hell that couldnt be more surreal in its attention to details... I try to word it in jest to squash the element of self pity a bit...and then theres the fact that im spiling it to random good people just to be spilling it...thats probably a really odd thing to be doing..but this music seems to help shove it all back for the moment! maybe im just coming unglued..

Concert looks amazing, wish I could have been there! The cinematography is sick too, the transition to sunset from the window, the trees swaying, just awesome

where was this show somewhere in New York , looks like an amazing venue, love J.Mascis acoustic stuff, saw him solo at the Roxy in the late 90's, he played way too loud like my ears were rattling had to go outside, Peace !
Love this set......the building and weather outside are perfect. But I get the feeling that the P Town elite in attendance don't really know who the fuck J Mascis is and are confused by his greatness.
I am a huge fan. And being a huge fan, I totally feel Like J wanted to get the fuck out of there as fast as he could. I feel like he totally wrote it in on this performance. Anyone else get that vibe? The venue is amazing, but I just totally felt like he was rushing to get the fuck outa' there.He either didn't like the crowd....or he had to poop.. EDIT: He seems to be more "himself" around the 30:00 mark....
its just how he is i think. i saw him live a few years back and after his set he just walked off and up the stairs to sit with his friends lol. the crowd was awesome too. i gave him a pat on the back as he walked past me :D
