Thank you to World of Longplays for some of the Wattam Gameplay! (my laptop could only handle so much…)

Sorry y'all for the simpler vid this month, had a lot going on while moving so had to keep it short and easy. Hope that's ok!
Sometimes a little is all you neeed ;-)
Dont worry, its perfect!
Don't worry about it. Everything you give is a gift, so thank you for the video! 😊
dearie you have nothing to be sorry bout long or short simple or complicated your videos (as well as your friendship) is a blessing in my life :D
No worries! We are simple people 😊
haha the wackiness of this kinda reminds me of Chibi-Robo
I love the play between the phrase "say no more" and "say No! more." Thank you for introducing me to this fun game!
One of my favorite interactions was a co-worker handing me a letter and asking if I can take it to another co-worker. Sounded reasonable, so I agreed and didn't say No! Then he said it was the person literally 12 feet away. Hm. I've been tricked, I thought. But after I handed the other person the letter, it turned out to be a love letter between spouses. You subverted my expectations in a clever way, game. That was adorable.
Wa is the Japanese word for harmony...
I just knew Waluigi was the Enlightened One all this time
Oh my gosh...
I can't believe it took me until the end of the video to realize the game's title was a pun
I remember gifting a friend Wattam for his birthday. He streamed us his first playthrough and it was hilarious when we all realized it was like a game taken from a Baby TV show.
I've often liked music or stories that seemed dumb and fun but were built on intense emotions I missed at first. The deep emotions formed and supported the simple-seeming qualities I noticed right away.
I've never played these but they look great.
So nice to see a game tackle the theme of having boundaries. And love how you brought up other relationships as examples.
Katamari and Wattam are great games, thank you for showing them to a new audience and recommending "say no more" to the already iniciated like myself. I hope to get around playing it someday.
this video and my job dumping 20 extra hours on me this week radicalized me more than I already was
I loved Katamari when I was younger but I had never once thought about examining the relationship between the Prince and the King or thought about why the King was kind of a jerk, I'm going to spend the rest of the day wondering what else I may have missed in other games.
Thank you for making this video!
I’d love to see more short form cozy vids like this from you •
you are one of the very few people here on youtube who i think does their own thing, and that shows.
Woah Thank you for showing us wattam it’s so cute & fascinating !! Love their lil faces. And the whole video essay is very beautiful
I'd also reccomend the channel transparency for a really in depth video essay on the game!
truly theres more then meets the eye, great video as maria thank you so much say no more is extremely interesting glad you could show it to us
For me just cause 4 is stupid fun already 200+ hours in lol
If you haven't played it, I think you would really resonate with Smile For Me, it definitely plays the sinister hand harder than Katamari or Wattam does, but it's a similarly charming and weird game about the cycles of negativity.
A new eurothug video? Say no more… *babumchaaa drum sound*
Aye XD
You beat me to I XD
@@thewanderingartists double ayye baby.
I wish somebody had taught me this before entering university.
I'd never heard of Say No! More, but I adore that Mega Man Legends style of 3D models with pixel graphics textures with no filter on the texture scaling.
Fantastic as per usual. Always a pleasure to watch your videos.
Man, that brief clip of Ape Escape brings back some ancient memories. I wonder if there'd be a video essay buried somewhere within that series? I feel like it deserves more attention, especially now that Sony shut down its Japan studio and it's unlikely we'll see another installment in the series.
This comes as an extremely uplifting video for someone who’s essentially had to deal with a workplace and habits where I’ve been allotted very little liberty to care for myself, first, before that of the workplace or auxiliary concerns. Thank you for highlighting the very careful balance we must confront each day in the face of our mental health while still shedding light on previously overlooked narrative heft in otherwise zany titles. It helps that, although “Say No! More” carries with it a double meaning, so does your process of finding extra meaning in these games paired with the closing monologue from the game where we are told to seek better solutions and demand greater treatment in our own lives as well as society. Anyway, fantastic video as always Maria!
Just finished playing Just Say No. It kind of reminded me of FMV games, with its strange characters and being a collection of smaller, self contained stories.
Last January I quit my job and promised myself I will never work as an employee again. I'm 41, I've been working half my life, and even more if we count family business. I have never had a caring boss, although only one time, for two years, I had three bosses (my immediate boss, the coordinator of the area which was her boss as well as mine, and the director of the institution) who were good people and respected my work. It was in a government institution and I worked directly with young guys and gals (between 17 and 29). When a new government came, I was fired. Other that that, every job has been the same as you describe. It's frustrating. Even when you can say "no" on a regular basis (I learned to do it early on), the job doesn't improve. I want a version of this game but with Doom mechanics and a mod where all the monsters have my last boss' face.
Oh, wow! Now I understand why I've been playing Doom for 25 years. Thank you. I now know I made the right thing when I quit that 7-year old job that was destroying my soul.
I know this was a simpler/smaller project, but it might be my favourite video of yours so far? And that's not to understate the quality of your previous releases, I think this one just resonated with me on a more personal level. I often feel like I just can't say no to offers that I know are potentially harmful, either because I genuinely get too excited about them to turn them down or because I fear consequences like losing customers, getting bad reviews, not living up to expectations etc. These rare occasions lead to an endless spiral of overwork and burnout and I need to get rid of them in order to end this chaos.. and the worst thing about it is that I do realize what is happening, it's just that I am too powerless to say anything. Your video makes me feel seen which I don't get too often as I'm usually surrounded by people who want something from me, and don't really care about my feelings, especially now during the pandemic. Even though it's a negative experience of yours that I can relate to so well, I'm very glad you shared it because just by listening to your story, I feel like I'm one step closer to learning to say no to these people myself every now and then. So, thank you!
I was overjoyed to see you making a video on this!
I really liked this analysis, especially the first half of the video were you analyze keita takahashi games it is so good
Really nice video, glad you made it!
I always love your vids. The games you choose to showcase are always so calming to me.
A really nice video once again.
Goodness knows how many games I was a bit unsure about playing because they looked weird. Now I live for such art styles [especially if they're really surreal] while being combined with really good soundscapes and good storytelling. I've only played a bit of the Katamari games and this is the first I've heard of Say No More which I can play on my long journey of indie titles.
Came over here from Razbuten's recommendations and was delighted to find this gem of a channel. Amazing content and gonna binge through all your vids now a few times! :)
Damn, what a cool little game. Say No! More. I adore the clever word play and the premise is brilliant. Now, this is the kind of cool, artistic thing I like to see video games do: tackle complex societal issues in fun, interesting ways. Thanks for introducing me to this game and, as always, giving your own personal stories and experiences, which made everything all the more compelling. Excellent work. I gotta play this game.
I can relate to struggling to say no at work. I was perhaps a little more lazy than you and DID say no, but always felt an immense guilt afterwards cause I hated letting people down. Even so I've come to realize that you have to look out for yourself in situations like this and help where you can without it being a detriment to your health
How did I only just find this channel? Your videos are incredible!
It's weird, I've never thought about titles this way. Sometimes it's just a name or other times it just describes what you do in the game, I've never dug any deeper than that but I might start to after watching this.
I really love the aesthetics of these games, but especially so in Say No! More for some reason. It's also really hillarious how the game captures that feeling of actually saying no to something you don't want to do, at least that's the feeling I get from just watching these short clips. I might have to go buy the game and play it over the weekend!
Never heard of "Say 'No!' More" before. Thanks for changing that! I'm going to check it out.
I had NO IDEA that We Love Katamari had all that back story about the King! :(
(I only ever played the first game on PS2, and spent years listening to the first 2 game's soundtracks after that.)
Anyway, excellent video!
I had not heard of Say No! More before watching this but I already love everything about it.
Say no more, Eurothug. You've sold me on this game.
Also had no idea about the King's backstory.
Great video!
needed this, thank you 😌
i love your videos. always a cozy vibe
Really great video! Thanks for introducing me to Say No! More!! What a great game :D
Wonderful job on the new video. Thanks for adding Subtitles/Closed Captions.
That was fantastic, I love your videos!
Another great video from you! I can't believe I've never heard of Wattam before, I used to love Katamari.
Found out about your channel after Razbuten's video. So glad I found it. You have an unique take about game feeling and environment. It's great to get to know your perspective and being able to take things from a different point of view.
Great video! Ur examples were very interesting I think I’ll go buy a copy of say no more
Some videos come at the right moment.
This one was one of them.
Bless you, eurothug. Bless you.
This was real nice!!! Great way to start the weekend ^^
Wow, that game looks really interesting, thank you for another cool video essay!
This was a fun bite-sized video essay. I think the shorter amount of time allowed you to focus and reach a conclusion without it becoming bloated or convoluted. It's interesting, well put together, and most importantly, entertaining. Thanks!
Another fantastic video!
thank you!! these are some of my favorite games...
About halfway through I was thinking eurothug is putting waaaaay too much thought into this; and then i remembered oh yeah that's why I sub and watch theses vids :D
Excellent video! :D
Great video! Say No More is officially on my save for a day I'm in a terrible mood pile.
Say no! More: goofy ahh depression
Great video!
This sounds like such a amazing game! I would love to check it!
How'd you know I was playing katamari ? XD
I also thought "Say No More" was only a gag game about saying No. But your commentary definitely convinced me to play it.
Great video! Just wanted to say that the video captions cover the in-game captions at the end there, which means I had to disable them to read it. I don't know if it's just a timing issue, or because I'm watching on mobile though. Keep up the fantastic work!
Oop sorry! I’ll fix that! Thanks for letting me know :)
Fantastic video :)
Absolutely lovely
Great, now I gotta go back and watch everything this channel has done so I don't miss on these analysis, this is the problem with good content :(
Love this, great video! Since you talked about bad bosses, I just wanted to point out there can't really be 'good bosses', since they exist to exploit workers. In a better world we would live free of unjust hierarchies(anarchy) and workplaces would be controlled democratically by the workers(communism).
Alright guess I have to actually make my video on katamari now. I love the note on how it's like cleaning.
I love your videos so much
I’ve been meaning to play katamari and wattam for a while now, maybe now is the time to start
I had no idea he made another game thank you so much for letting me know this exists
I looked forward to Wattam, even got dnied buying a ps4 hard copy from best buy cause they accidently had the disc out too early for sale. I got it on PC and hooked up my Dualshock4. Its a fun game with fun first and foremost with moments of reflection, but it didnt have enough for me for the second to second gameplay loop. I found Death Stranding gameplay alone to be more involving. But Im glad Wattam exists.
I like how the name has a double meaning saying no more as in no more of this structure and literally saying the word no more commonly
another banger video
I always thought Katamari was a critique of materialism, so I guess this doesn't surprise me as much. Still, always nice to hear about smaller, wackier games.
Also Wattam reminds me of Adventure Time.
Feeling quite relax with these videos I love these kind of videos.
#SAYNOMORE
Great little video. Maybe I'll consider trying out the game
Edit: good timing. it's on sale in the shop a week later.
great video
Talk about good timing i just started playing Katamari damacy reroll this week
thank you so much
Here I am for the one video essay I comment on per year, lmao. I have never heard of “Say No! More,” but from what you shown, it has definitely convinced me to check it out.
I have been apart of the customer service industry since I was a young girl, more specifically, the food service industry. Though it isn’t an unpaid internship, most of the jobs in this sector are unfortunately miserable and most corporations teach you to just say “Yes” whenever a customer has an issue. It is all very fake and performative, and to top it off, the customers tend to be incredibly rude and will take advantage of you. This can also extend to your employer and management, making everything suck complete donkey ass.
The thing is, my parents were my boss for most of my life. My parents truly do not believe the phrase “The customer is always correct” exists; and they’re right. They would never cave to shit customer demands, especially when they clearly were trying to get free food for no real reason. However, my parents were really tough on the employees, and as you can imagine, they were really tough to me. We were expected to go above and beyond, despite none of us being paid particularly well. The only upside was that promotions were very common, so if you stuck out and did your job, you were given better pay. Eventually, they retired and I met the new boss when I turned 18. It became my full-time job even though I had also began college not long after. That damn place took over my life because I felt the pressure and need to do everything since no one else was (while also being the lowest paid manager there). Eventually, my college grades collapsed and I felt horrid. My boss kept being ass with requests he was asking and I decided that enough was enough after he thought that personally insulting me would put me in my place. Since then, I’ve learned to create boundaries with my workplaces and employers, aka, saying “No” more.
Great video Maria! Hope your move has been going (relatively) smoothly and that Mochi is doing well! We’re all excited to see your stuff in the future.
Damn, I'm sorry about the experience with your boss and all your workload, it's always rough to have someone being an ass when you're already super stressed. I hope things are getting better for you!
And thank you so much!! glad you enjoyed the vid! :)
Yeah, food service sucks ass. I mean, surely there are good restaurants with actual nice employers that aren't just very convincing actors.. Anyway the cafe I worked at for 2 months is known as the best, chillest place in my town and I regret ever applying for a job there cause I cannot just go back as a customer and just enjoy whatever they have to offer cause they absolutely demolished my self-confidence as an employee and talked to me in the most degrading ways.. For 2 months, I was stupid enough to blind out the bullying, racism and sexism because I really wanted to enjoy my time there and "become part of the team", but thank god I eventually got away from there cause it's one the most toxic places I've ever been to. Since then, I've grown to appreciate workers in the industry more because honestly, even if the people are cool, food service is very stressful and employees have to endure sooo much shit and most of them aren't in the priviliged situation to simply break away from these toxic workplaces because they need the job to feed their families.
New EUROTHUG video! I insta-clicked!
Ah katamari, i love that game and its music
Say No! More?
Well then say no more!
I've been looking forward to this game so much, and after watching this video, I think I need to buy it for my daughter! She often needs to be a little more assertive. ❤️
I need to play this game
Say No! More speaks to me so much :(
I come from Super Eyepatch Wolf's channel bearing a subscription. I hope you have a great day.

You should play Locoroco 2, the first one is good but the 2 is amazing and you do not need to play Locoroco 1 to understand Locoroco 2
You need to play Chulip for the PS2. Perfect example of a hilariously stupid game.
Yeah :)
