@@TheFirstCurse1 yeah the shit they choose to cut is so questionable!? Like cutting Kalé's quest in Elden Ring!? Like why is the best shit left on the cutting room floor guys? I truly don't get it.
Wait up... The elephant in the room is that Master Willem and Micolash are one and the same... Am I late on that discovery or something? Not only do they have the same VA, but if you take the liver description literally, then the Micolash in the dream is just a younger version of his husk left behind. Not to mention from those "new" dialogues, they both repeatedly ask for eyes and Micolash talks about Rom, the creature Willem is "guarding"... MAJESTIC!!
I don't think there are one in the same, they are similar in that Micolash hasn't deviated too far from the teachings of byrgenwerth as Laurence did. Master Willem wears a more ceremonial robe befitting that of a headmaster, while Micolash wears a graduated scholars uniform which may imply that Micolash studied under Master Willem and later went on to create the School of Mensis. While The School of Mensis did help create the Healing Church it seems to hold its ideals closer to that of byrgenwerth, being that they seek eyes to expand their rudimentary human knowledge. Micolash himself knows of both Kos and Rom meaning he had sway and influence, but because of Willem's distaste for using the blood I don't believe he could also be Micolash. Also after killing Micolash he complains about waking up and forgetting everything, as a separate character it would make more sense as his body is now a lifeless husk, the body we touch after the One Reborn, and by waking up he's dying, but if he were just a younger Master Willem he'd just reenter his old decrepit body back at byrgenwerth.
@@midnightmadness6344 I agree with you that Micolash's corpse in Yahar-Gul suggests he is a different person. But if we take the "Husk" part more literally, it could suggest that Willem himself sort of split (mirroring the Byrgenwerth Schism) with his scholarly left brain remaining as a husk endlessly searching for eyes, and his youthful and eccentric right brain emerging and acting on it's own. We often see that old hunters summoned through a Beckoning Bell appear in their youthful prime, so maybe Willem achieved this through some form of metamorphosis. I should acknowledge that there's not really a precedent for people splitting or de-aging anywhere else in the game, but maybe that's why this info/dialogue was removed.
Remember that this was cut for a reason. They might have had this idea before, but I think it was left behind. The game makes it clear that Micolash and Willem are different people with no real connection.
I feel stupid for not making that connection before but then again I don't look at VA names most of the time XD that definitely makes sense, although I'm not sure where Willem would've gotten the name Micolash from... unless his full name is Willem Micolash (or Micolash Willem, not sure if Willem is his first or last name).
I bet he's speaking some bastardized language of the Great Ones that still has some power, like he's trying to vocalize the runes the player can memorize.
It sounds like the same language spoken when you use a Madman's Knowledge. So you're probably right there, since Willem is almost certainly using these words to conjure arcane spells.

As always, believe what ever you want...
Whoa, after almost 5 since release there is still so much to uncover. Thanks Lance! Watching your videos is like playing Bloodborne for the first time!
Always so excited when you post a new BB video! It's one of my favorite games I've ever played, and I love how many things are buried beneath the surface. It's so fun to see what could've been, and to try and piece together the concepts.
I greatly appreciate everything you do, and you really answer a lot of questions I’ve had in my many bloodborne playthroughs such as the great bridge door and the byrgenwerth trapdoor. These videos scratch a weird itch I’ve had with cut content in games I’ve played over the years. Keep up the good work. I’ll always be back for more :)
I dont see why they cut this. I mean this could have been an optional bossfight/quest to go and find those eyeballs for him. I would have loved to see this fight completed. Also, I just got reminded how bad I want a Bloodborne 2 and what a masterpiece this game is. Truly the best game Ive ever played. Thank you so much for your work.
Dude, this is awesome. Thank you so much for going through all the time and effort to find this stuff and then get it all to work. It uncovers more and more about a game I love, and you make that love even greater. It also highlights just how much changes in a game even in later stages when models, sound effects and other things are made, but then cast away.
Willem's bits are probably Blacksky Eyes that would have shot meteors at you, as the description for that tool says that it was discovered at Byrgenwerth. RIP Willem, the one who came closest to realizing he was living in a blood painting inside a rotten scrap of a painting that is on fire in an Age of Dark.
This was so awesome and interesting. It really fleshes out Willem's personality for me, namely that he wasn't so virtuous by the time the player arrives in Yharnam...he wasn't a fiend for blood, but he was just as much of a fiend for eyes, seemingly not just growing eyes spontaneously, but also harvesting the human eyeballs out of the heads of other living people (and children?!) and using them for himself, perhaps grafting them onto his skull. (Could that explain why some statues and enemies have surgery scars on their heads? Perhaps eye-grafting head surgeries were practiced at Byrgenwerth?) I wonder if the Witch of Hemwick may have had a lore connection to Willem, especially considering her pre-Alpha liver title was Eye Collector, the vast quantity of eyes on her model, and the standard witch enemies' eye-extracting grab attack animations. Perhaps those witches were Willem's servants, sent out by Willem with the same dialogue you showed in this video to steal people's eyes, which they would have done with the same wooden spoon they use to try to steal the player's in Yahar'gul. This video also may help answer a question I've had about the geography of the game world- specifically, where the lecture building would have been situated before it was pulled into the nightmare. Sounds like it may have been underneath that trap door, in the Byrgenwerth manor's basement. Which helps answer a second question- was the lecture building part of the School of Mensis, or Byrgenwerth, before it was pulled into the nightmare? This implies Byrgenwerth. It also gives a small hint as to when and by whom the lecture building may have been pulled in- if it was located underneath Byrgenwerth manor, it may have been pulled in during the formation of Rom, or the formation of Rom's illusion that hides the eldritch truth, since Rom's manifestation in the physical world is accessed a mere dozen meters horizontally from where the Lecture Hall would have been situated.
Brilliant work as always man, fascinates me how much goes unused. I'd rather wait and let the devs make it work than have that "crunch" and lose so much content
These videos are always a blast, but it does leave a bittersweet feeling tho. So many cool unused things we get to see but its a shame to see the scope of what they planned was even bigger than the base game.
Really great video. I don't play Bloodborne much these days because there aren't big discoveries left to make, but you somehow still do it with these weird hacks, so I always watch these videos as soon as they go up
man everyone complains about the dks2 lighting downgrade (for obvious reasons) but the bloodborne alpha looks like it has much better lighting than the final game also.
Thanks so much. One of the best games ever and I'm so happy that you find new stuff like this hidden in the data. Uncovering all the unseen glory of this gothic masterpiece. How cool.. new dialogue from Master Willem, new animations, and uncovering that he was going to be a boss.. And very cool with the trap door discovery.
That was terrific. I was always intrigued what they planned to do with Master Willem from the animation showcase you gave us long ago. That you restored his AI and his moves through designing your *own* Debug mode is absolutely insane.I thought that there was little else to find in Bloodborne but you continue to prove me wrong, amazing work and terrific concept. But the eyes were meant to drop something called "Professor's Key?" Hmm? This is the first I'm hearing of this cut item. I don't think you mentioned it in your synopsis of unused items, but I could be remembering wrong.
I have a suspicion that Willem was supposed to be a covenant, seeing as how Yurie could be an anecdote for such a claim. Maybe you get Eyes every time you engage in PvP
These findings always make me speechless. Good fucking job, I can't even imagine how much time it takes to find things like these.
You can also find bloodshot eyes everywhere in hemwick
I really don't know how you manage to time these video releases with perfect accuracy to my hangovers, but they are an excellent remedy.
Brilliant work as always man, fascinates me how much goes unused. I'd rather wait and let the devs make it work than have that "crunch" and lose so much content
I just love how you keep finding hidden bloodborne content, it's really making my day 😊
I want that "charging staff attack while laughing" as my notification sound.
@warpchair Can you extract those audio files from the game?
People like you are the ones that this community needs, thanks for working so hard to show us this interesting information!
Don't mind me just leaving a friendly comment.
Good video! Keep on keeping on!
Thank you for opening our eyes
These videos are always a blast, but it does leave a bittersweet feeling tho. So many cool unused things we get to see but its a shame to see the scope of what they planned was even bigger than the base game.
Still finding amazing things Lance! Your insight is really apreciated
Maybe those eyeballs were also somehow tied to the Brain of Mensis.
Thank You for these amazing finds Lance~
Really great video. I don't play Bloodborne much these days because there aren't big discoveries left to make, but you somehow still do it with these weird hacks, so I always watch these videos as soon as they go up
I was expecting him to get off his chair like Gehrman does
hey this is legitimately super interesting content, thanks for taking on the task of patching all of this back into the game!
7:17 kinda reminds me of the mumbling the one reborn does
deepest lore
I didn't know Katya was cut content in Bloodborne. Stay winning Queen!
As an npc he sounds just like Ludeleth of Courland, and as a boss he sounds like the Deacons.
this world needs more people like you. Awesome content as always!!
8:08 That sounds eerily just like me when i looked at too many memes.
I'm amazed that there's still so much content to be found in this gem. Amazing work
Not enough eyes to see. More eyes. Bring me more eyes. Ah, Maria, what stops thine ears? Please, more eyes, right away...
I always really appreciate all the hard work you put into these videos! It still amazes me how much content gets left behind in soulsborne games 😂
man everyone complains about the dks2 lighting downgrade (for obvious reasons) but the bloodborne alpha looks like it has much better lighting than the final game also.
This is true though
Thanks so much. One of the best games ever and I'm so happy that you find new stuff like this hidden in the data. Uncovering all the unseen glory of this gothic masterpiece. How cool.. new dialogue from Master Willem, new animations, and uncovering that he was going to be a boss.. And very cool with the trap door discovery.
I thought I heard University professor's bit$$ at first. lol
Thank you for continuing to provide the most intriguing new information on my all-time favorite game.
If Lance McDonald isn't an NPC in Elden Ring, i will freak.
Get ready to freak
Freak? Weak! Real men FRICK
Thank you for all the research you still do, it's still interesting and very much appreciated to see this content pop up!
With all these cut bosses, if they were in the game, they would probably surpass DSII's amount of bosses.
And it's unbelievable how much cut contents souls have, the games are already incredibly inspired but then you find all these unique and creative ideas that may never see a future use.
7:52 CHARGE ZA WHEZZZE
for real tho can't tell what was that
He was wheezing because he's laughing and old?
Thanks for the content, I always come back to watch your channel.4 years later and the online community is still strong in Bloodborne. This game is incredible.
I think "broken willem" is one of the best SoulsBorneTwiceDie enemies. Even better than headsmash primordial serpent. Well ok maybe not the best but definetily the most hilarious. :D Can't stop watching that chairsmash attack.
I love that this community (I’m not saying there is anything wrong with it) just keeps making the name of the series longer with each game. Soulsborne was short and sweet but I can’t wait to see it become Soulsbornekiroring.
@@vallisroyeaux4979 I don't think Sekiro qualifies as a soulsborne game. It's pretty different from the others, while Bloodborne and dark souls share many mechanics.
Giulia Bonifazi I’m not saying they are. But the name seems to extend/alter with every release from soft makes, regardless of being the same “series” of games.
It was indeed intended as a joke.
@@vallisroyeaux4979 it does and I think it needs to stop for 2 reason, number 1 it doesn't make any sense, and number 2 it's gonna become impossible to pronounce in a few years
Your videos are wonderful, thank you so much for making them! I never get tired of watching.
Jesus these comments. People talking about well known plot points and lore as though they have some deepest lore theory. It's too funny.
"Personally I think eyes on the inside has something to do with insight."
GENIUS! Someone call Vaati!
Man, you deserve a gold medal for finding this kind of stuff. To think the Souls games still have hidden data to be discovered. Amazing content!
The way you are finding so much content today is just amazing ! thanks to grant us knowledge ;)
I love you for continuing to make videos on this game. it's still one of if not my favorite game ever made~
I was just wondering if another video was on its way, nice timing.
Nice work as usual, Lance.
These videos are awesome! Crazy discoveries are being made after all these years
You're doing gods work. Thanks for the content. Bloodborne is my favorite game.
Man your dedication to the cut content is amazing, your content is always awesome and I’m always waiting for the next video thank you for all your hard work
Oh man, you are amazing. Thank you so much for all your hard work, it’s appreciated a lot. 💖
This shit is incredible. It's wild to me that I'm just now getting recommended these videos, considering how much Soulsborne content I watch.
Also it's a bummer they fully removed this encounter from the game. A bossfight against a human who has mastered the arcane could have been dope, but the closest we got was cageface running away from while rambling, and the rambling wasn't even in fucked up Cthulu-speak! This whole thing has serious Innsmouth Cult Leader/Tentacle Pope vibes and I'm seriously digging it.
Not often you see videos without dislikes. Love your work, you're a true hero!
WOOHOO FIRST DISLIKE !!!1111 after 1.4 k im the firs
It's been about a year since I stopped playing Bloodborne, but your content doesn't stop coming or being top notch.
