    I should've made mine like this . I cut mine in 2 halves and the bastard springs open in a slight twist had to get them to join up later when putting on hinges

    Fantastic, novice question. If you added a thinker piece of steal in side at the bottom souls it act as a heat sync?

    • @HobartWelders
      @HobartWelders  3 года назад +1

      Hi there, thanks for reaching out. To answer your question, yes, if you had a thick piece of steel in the bottom with the charcoal on top, once heated up it will retain heat longer than just the keg itself. We hope this helps!

    Not sure why you didn’t include a chimney.
    You have air in holes but no air out with the door closed?

    How is it you are welding stainless? I have a Hobart 210 which I love and would love to be able to weld stainless.

      Thank you for your question. The Handler 210MVP can weld .023-.035 in. (0.6-0.9 mm) mild steel or stainless steel. For more information, we recommend checking out the spec sheet: www.hobartwelders.com/-/media/hobart-imported-mam-assets/spec-sheets/b/4/d/handler-210mvp-250822.pdf. how does the thermostat go on is it a simple magnetic peice you buy or do you have to make any holes for it?

    • @stephenchristena8551
      @stephenchristena8551 5 лет назад +2

      Hello Feral,
      Solid question. You will have to drill a hole. Depending on the thermostat you buy, just make sure you have about a 1/32" to 1/16" of slop for the hole to receive the thermostat. The fasteners should do the rest. Let me know if you have any issue.

    So no oxygen hole on the bottom?.. sorry I must of missed that part of what

    • @HobartWelders

      It sits on the side that technically functions as the top of the keg.

    Hi. Good channel, THANKS
    new subscriber here.
    I'd like to build a cool grill too. I found an old 300cf acetylene tank. I'm pretty sure it's empty.
    Q: to cut in the door can I use a grinder or do you recommend plasma cutting?
    Thanks in advance))

    • @HobartWelders
      @HobartWelders  3 года назад

      Hi there, thanks for reaching out. We do not recommend cutting into an acetylene tank as it could be very dangerous.

    Are you able to do the same but with stick welding?

    • @stephenchristena8551
      @stephenchristena8551 5 лет назад

      If you are proficient enough with stick you should be able.

    • @luke_lewis1630

      If you stick weld it then make sure you are using the right rod. Stainless steel to stainless steel use a 308 rod. Stainless to carbon steel use a 309. And since it's thin metal use a 3/32 rod. A 1lb box is about $25

    What mix of gas did you use for the welds and you use stainless wire?

    • @HobartWelders
      @HobartWelders  6 лет назад +2

      Thank you for reaching out! The mix of gas used in the videos is standard C25, ER70S6. We didn't use anything in particular for the stainless. Please let us know if you have any other questions.

    Here is how to depressurize and remove the valve from a keg.
    ruclips.net/video/-H-hGNRo-f4/видео.html
    I know it didn't hurt anything but I was a little concerned to see you strike an arc on a sealed pressure vessel.
    I tend to be overly cautious about cutting and welding on or near sealed pressure vessels.
    Great video!

    Your poor back. You should build a table or at least extend that one so it’s closer to you. As someone who is 6’2, the least amount of bending over the better
