- Hold on to your hats, there's a Hurricane coming! The Hurricane is a delicious tropical treat originally created in New Orleans that has seen many variations over the years. Enjoy our version of the popular Hurricane, sure to make your taste buds happy.

Ingredients:
2 oz. light rum
2 oz. dark rum
2 oz. pineapple juice
1 oz. orange juice
1/2 oz. lime juice
1/2 oz. passion fruit puree
1/2 oz. grenadine
1/4 oz. simple syrup
Instructions: Combine light rum, dark rum, pineapple juice, orange juice, lime juice, passion fruit puree, grenadine and simple syrup in shaker with ice. Shake until cold. Pour into Hurricane glass with crushed ice and garnish with an orange slice and cherry.

I know the feeling, Vino! We booked a vacation to the east coast / South Carolina for the summer and it's all we can think about now being that it's so cold and miserable out. This cocktail will help take some of that sadness away though! :-)
Batten Down the Hatches, Indeed! That's cool, last time I had to run to the grocery store pharmacy for my older dogs ' insulin late last weekend in a neighboring town, I paid myself by getting a few bottles. And then remembered - if you buy 6 bottles you get an add'l 10% off. So, I thought of a few more, and Meyers Rum completed my 6. My wife was upset over liquor shopping as my 14 yr. old Pap-Imo, (Papillon / Eskimo) would NOT stop moaning, very loudly.
Gotta have some Meyers, it's a staple! :-)
Meyers is always our go to dark rum, not sure why but its always on hand! now all we need is some humidity

Hey! Yeah, we like it cause it's all pretty common ingredients and we can make in a pinch. The 4 oz. of rum helps a little too :-D
