Most informational how to do it, I changed my audi A6 1.8T Quattro fuel pumb and did everyhing exactly how you did it and worked perfectly. That wrench idea brilliant!!! worked like a charm. Thank you for this tutorial!!!!
Sorry for the misunderstanding, I just said electrical tape as one type of tape you could use but ideally you can use whatever tape you wish. However the main point is only to protect the rubber hoses from tearing or getting damaged against the hard metal surface of the pliers. It's not for any other electrical related issue. As long as the hum sounds like an normal electric motor then it's normal. However, if it sounds abnormally loud even if the seat installed then it could be a faulty pump.
I had about a quarter tank of fuel in my car and I wish I had less in it. Wear some nitrile gloves to keep your hands dry. Any more gas and you'll be splashing it all over the place.
