Big fan of you guys using some used parts. It shows others that they can still be working great and it’s OK to go that route depending on financial circumstances.

Thanks for the comments Luis, it just didn't make sense to spend $600 on a new fuel pump. We like to use OEM parts whenever it makes sense, this way we get to use OEM and save some cash.
      Thanks for hanging out, Cheers!

To my understanding, 2009 on up doing the key switch to the on position does not turn on the in tank fuel pump. Either use software or manually prime the pump with 12 volt battery directly to the pump. But as far as the video goes well done. 👍

Thanks for the comments Denny, all of the "NMS" B7 Passat's sold in North America & China should prime the in-tank fuel pump with a key cycle. We have several 2012-2015 TDI's and they all work with a key cycle.
The ROW B7 Passat does not seem to have this feature and will require a scan tool in order to activate the fuel pump.
      Cheers!

Is a 2015 Passat TDI different?

Thanks for the question, it looks like the 2015 uses the same fuel pump. We thought it was different since it has a different motor than the 12-14 but the lift pump is actually the same. So the process will be identical for the 2015 TDI's.
Good luck on you VW project, let us know how it goes.
      Cheers!

@@BradleysGarageThank you for the info. Its really strange because on FCP Euro a 2014 TDI fuel pump is $600 where as a 2015 TDI is $200. Not sure why there is a massive difference in price, they look identical. I ordered one and will be installing it tomorrow, hope it all works well
