    I’ve always believed that in order to create high end photos you don’t need to own expensive gear. In this video, I am testing the Gold Abstract backdrop from Kate Backdrops. I’d like to find out if I can prove the above statement and create beautiful quality images with a backdrop that only costs around $100. This is considered cheap in the world of photography backdrops.
    I’m going to try and create 3 completely different looks to get the most out of the same backdrop.
    I’ll explain my light setups with 3D Lighting Diagrams and take you behind the scenes of my photo shoot with my gorgeous model, Hannah.
    You can see the images of each look we created as well and at the end of this video I’ll give you an honest review about the backdrop.

    hi! I was curious what you would recommend for lighting a backdrop video? I noticed the video vs. the photos looked quite different. (:
    thanks in advance for your help! Loved the video

    • @AndreaDomjanPhotography
      @AndreaDomjanPhotography  8 месяцев назад

      Hi Ashley, you’ll need continuous light sources for video. The reason why the photos look so different is because I’m using flashes that are more powerful than continuous lights and the camera only picks them up in that fraction of a second when they flash.
      I recommend the continuous lights from Godox, for instance like this one: amzn.to/3PXpEEE

      Thank you! The 3D light setups are made with a software called set.a.light by Elixxier.
      You can find it here: kit.co/andrea_domjan/online-course/set-a-light-3d

    This is a great video. Love the ideas. I’ve been wanting to do a shoot with plant shadows so when this was in the video I found it helpful. Just curious though, was the shot without fill or did you end up using fill? In the diagram there’s a strobe more angled and pointing through the plants but in the video you have a strobe with a reflector dish and barn door almost pointed directly at the model. Did that one end up getting placed there as fill? Thanks 😊

    • @AndreaDomjanPhotography
      @AndreaDomjanPhotography  Год назад +1

      Thank you for your question and good catch on the reflector with the barn door! I actually ended up using one light only on the left side as shown on the lighting diagram but I was testing if I should add another light pointed directly at the model’s face but did not like what that did for me. I hope this clarifies, I’m here if you have more questions!

    Not sure why youtubers think they need to include music in the background when they are talking. I find it distracting and annoying. If what you're saying is important, let us hear it.

      You see, there is usually many noises even with a top quality microphone if your room isn’t sound treated. And if you try to reduce noise too much during editing,voice become very unrealistic, and it takes a lot of time to adjust. So, the music hides small noises.
      Also just monologues without any music is usually very boring ,unless you are a very good storyteller.
      So…

    • @AndreaDomjanPhotography
      @AndreaDomjanPhotography  Год назад +1

      There were really only a few wrinkles and you can remove them with a steamer or by ironing them. I used a steamer as you can see at the beginning of the video.
