How were these two not in the top 5? They were some of the best singers in the entire season. She is definitely the best female singer for season 7.

I think Carly is fantastic! Micheal was better live on the tour than on TV though, he has "star power".

Michael Johns was one of my favorites from Idol. I loved this duet with him and Carly! Couldn't get enough of it back then! I had the pleasure of meeting Michael at a meet-and-greet in 2009. Even got my pic taken with him, which I will forever treasure. He was extremely nice and down to earth. I took it so hard when he passed away, and I feel so terrible for his wife. I'm still in shock 2 years later. :(
Season 7 was also my favorite. SO much talent in that group!! I think most of us were shocked when he was eliminated. He should have been in the running to win!
I know! Him and Carly were the shocking eliminations even though I was thrilled when David Cook won, all so talented. Loved them. Only Idol tour I have seen in concert. RIP Michael.

This would've been the best top 5: Brooke White (Top 5), Michael Johns (Top 4), Carly Smithson (Top 3), David Archuleta (Runner-up), David Cook (Winner). And how the heck did non-popular and boring Syesha Mercardo make top 3?? I think Jason Castro was worse but made the top 4, because as Simon put it, his "[eyes were] charming".

Dèja vu. I watched Haley Reinhart Season 10 being slaughtered by Randy and, in later stages, JLo despite being far and away the best singer. I now see the same thing happening to Carly in Season 7 with Simon Cowell and again Randy picking on a brilliant contestant.
