I'm an ASMR journaling channel (very niche). I've already implemented the combining my videos into 1 hour long episodes, and those do work well! I get more watch time with those. I struggle with finding the time to sit down and film just a longer video. My typical video usually only lasts about 7 to 8 minutes long. But I'm going to start trying to make 20+ long videos and see how they go. I'm on the struggle bus for the watch time hours. Thanks for this insight!
What do you suggest for doing a live for my Nail Channel? I don't have 2 separate cameras to film my nail art and my face at the same time. And is that even Possible to do both cameras on a live? I'd love to go live but I don't know what to go live ABOUT, if that makes sense. Maybe I could have a talking intro while people roll into the live...then move the camera to my nail desk?
Another fantastic video Channel Makers with great tips to increase the watch time of our videos so we can achieve the 4,000 hours requirement for montenisation. Love 🥰 the video and love ❤all the Channel Makers Team.
Thank you so much for sharing your experiences and creating such great content! I'm looking forward to more and wishing your channel the best growth in 2025 and beyond!
I hope you guys unlisted instead of deleting all those nate videos, according to trusted sources if you delete the videos, it deletes the watch time history of the viewer, essentially deleting your returning viewers
We definitely put a lot of thought into what to do with that old content. I believe the only ones that were deleted were videos where Nate had intentionally misled/confused viewers or lied explicitly. After we realized everything he was doing, we reviewed all the worst content and got rid of it. The rest has been privated as part of our channel pivot. It's been a crazy process, but we're seeing great progress in our analytics! - Nathan
@@ChannelMakerswell that comment of yours leaves a very nasty taste in the mouth. So much for amicable split. Nate fronted this channel for ages - doing it very well - and I very much doubt any sophisticated RUclipsr thought he was the one and only person doing every single thing (all successful channels have other people involved - it’s too much work otherwise) or was confused by what he was saying.
@@NekonataVirino I'm sorry it leaves a nasty taste in your mouth, that was not my intention. The unfortunate truth is that the split was anything but amicable even though we tried to make it amicable. Upon leaving this channel, Nate took very calculated and intentional steps to discredit us and our team while pretending he wanted the best for us. Also, yes, he did front the channel and did grow in popularity, but once we took the wheel we were shocked to see some of the things he had done and said. It really is unfortunate. I, personally was friends with Nate, my family went to his house for dinner, him and I considered starting side projects together. I trusted him. I was completely blindsided by what he did and how he treated me once he left. @@ChannelMakers Thanks for asking! First, I love getting "permission" to make longer videos and not feel guilty about it. 😄 But I'm really excited to try linking shorter videos together into a cohesive longer vid.
I dont know if thats true... I try do everything what everyone recommended and nothing really works. My channel just crawling so so slow... To slow. And views and likes or comments are coming like randomly. I think to give up and leave youtube if this dosnt work 🥺😕
My watch hours are incorrect. I have a 3-minute video and shows over 5,000 views I should have at least 40 watch hours. I only have seven. I don't know if I trust youtube studio at all with this
RUclips is becoming hell ... I just can't understand the logic of long form content especially really long videos...people have shorter attention spans. Why serve them endless videos? Also, it is totally undemocratic. Instead of encouraging viewers to discover shorter videos made by different creators RUclips encourages viewers to watch endless videos from just a few creators...it just doesn't make sense !
I don’t think it’s so much that RUclipsrs like doing it. People click on expressive thumbnails and it’s hard to be as expressive with your mouth totally closed.
So... the dude who cannot reach 50k views per video since Nate Black left Channel Makers, is gonna teach me how to monetise my channel 🤔 Mmmm. Contradictory AF.
This Channel wasn't getting 50k views when Nate was here, but ok. Yes, our baseline views are lower, but they are growing, not to mention we've started and monetized multiple channels in the past year AND consulted with multiple creators and businesses helping them 10x their revenue and views. But I guess we aren't worth listening to..... :) All Nate did was pretend to grow a channel from the ground up and capitalize on other people's success. It's what he does best. RUclips is not what he does best. Sure, he gets decent views right now, but there's a lot more to RUclips than views! Rock on! 🤘🤘 Nathan

Was a good video. The "give them less decisions to make" is a GREAT concept to keep in mind, thank you
Thanks! Sometimes we want to give our viewers every option, when in reality we need to help them make a choice by giving them fewer options. :)

Is it permissible to republish existing content, even stitched together (and tightly edited)? A best-of or highlights video if you will?

RUclips needs to lessen watch time hours because it seems impossible to get it
Where are you on your watch hour journey?
@@ChannelMakers 748 outta 4,000
@@ChannelMakers 794 hours
@@ChrisTigerHarris I agree! 4000 is so much for an unknown channel. Especially when your videos aren't getting the viewer numbers they need either.
Hi, is the 4000 watch hours from the Analylics or 4000 Public watch hours from the "Earn"? Both watch hours shows up very differently.
From the earn, 1,000 subs and 4,000 WH
I always use summarization tools for videos longer than 30mins, unless I am going for a walk and have something really interesting to listen to.
Good idea
Wow it's a big help for the beginner
I actually put together three of my videos and that particular video got me the highest views

@@jenniferevelynhayes ooo I love that! You'll have to let us know how it goes!
I have a channel about funny short stories. Are you saying I should take those short form videos, combine them into an hour long video?
You can do that it should get more watch hours
Netflix launched its streaming service in 2007, RUclips was launched in 2005.
True. RUclips wasn’t launched as a streaming service for movies. It was launched as a social media site for sharing video content.
I mean, since when Netflix is "traditional media"? Traditional media encompasses various forms of communication that existed before the digital age.
What to do when they wipe out hundreds of watch hours in one clean sweep and give a hoot? Still the best?
It is hard to see this happen. RUclips has set the bar high, but the strategy in this video is what's been the most successful for us!
Great feedback
Thank you!

Depends on the subject and where you share
Can I just put all my shorts together into one long video too?
Give it a try! I can definitely see ways to do that depending on what your shorts content is like.
U can have a show every week
Nice info

Depends how long on average they watched and are they in videos or shorts because shorts are longer than 60seconds now, so shorts wouldn’t count.
Well as I mentioned it's a 3-minute video so it's not a short! And view time average was 1 minute 22
Good video
Glad you enjoyed!
4000 hours is so hard. Getting 1000 subs was easy using shorts but it klled me from getting watch hours.
Yeah, watch time can be difficult. You've got this!
What happens when you reach 4,000 hour?
You can get monetized in the RUclips Partner program.
