Lexus is definitely on the right track. I owned 2 RX's, 1 GS, and 1 Audi A4. At the time I purchased those luxury vehicles... I test drove all the other brands... Mercedes as nice as they...they just don't appeal to me and too over price and depreciates quickly over the years. My A4 was bought brand new w/175 miles on it. Great for the first 5 years and all down hill after that... My wife's RX's and my GS performed absolutely and I sold my GS after 4 years for $22K and bought a 1794 Edition Tundra because I moved from Wash DC to the mountains of TN. I know everyone has their favorite brand in the luxury arena but Lexus vehicles just perform, re-sale is great and you get more for your money. I'm a Lexus guy...I work hard for my money and I'm not paying 15k - 30k more for a BMW, Mercedes to see them depreciate to lower cost in 3 to 4 years than a Lexus. You don't even want to talk about the maintenance cost and problems after 4 years with these vehicles. Lexus will eventually offer the ES in an AWD version but not in the introduction of a model change year...more power and AWD will probably come in couple of years. That ES is absolutely beautiful.
The ES does NOT compare to a 3 series, A4, etc. it compares to an A6, 5 series, etc. Idek why Lexus claims this but Lexus builds a car for that class (the IS)
The ES isn't supposed to be a sporty car. Its supposed to be a comfy car. Lowwer the cost for everyone and get rid of the Sport and Sport plus mode. Expecially for a front wheel drive vehicle. This only makes any sense if they axe the GS. Also, if you say the ES is a compact competitor, what is the IS?
To all the AWD comments... the ES sells so well because it's FWD! there're too many competitors in the AWD segment and to be honest, it doesn't need it, and this is from an ES owner living in Canada. AWD just uses more fuel, more maintenance, and more upfront cost. I also own a Subaru with full time AWD, so I know the perks of having AWD, but I wouldn't have my ES hybrid any other way.
No Nathan, Lexus couldn't have said the ES competes with those cars. The ES competes with the E Class, 5 series and A6..it's the IS that competes with the 3 series, A4 and C Class...And i will take the Lexus equivalent except for the Lexus IS which has that ugly looks like it's melting front.
It actually _SHARES_ the hood and fenders from the LS? That can't be true. Did you mean to say that the ES shares the _FACT_ that the hood and fenders are aluminum in both the LS and ES?
there are discussions of it. because Lexus is axing GS sedans (production already ended), so to fill that position, they needed a performance mid-size sedan. So they will add some higher up trims for the ES to bridge the gap between IS and LS sedans. Going forward its gonna be IS-ES-LS. There is no more GS.
warset, If Lexus is looking for a performance oriented mid size sedan they are going to have to do better than the ES. Nothing about this car says performance including an F Sport trim. Lexus will be doing a disservice to themselves and fans if they 86 the GS F Sport with it's 5L V8, because that engine will never work in the ES platform.
so agree with your comment, as if all isn't built around something else and making it better......same shit occurs with airbus vs boeing jets.....when they all build upon each other.....that's known as progress......
Car marketeers have actually ruined the car manufacturing criterias. Every single manufacturer aims for sporty edgy, sharp and actually in daily life useless cars. Meanwhile Lexus goes for soft touch materials, sound deadning, physical buttons, matt finishes instead of scratchy gloss black interiors. Supple ride, comfort first and nice touches such as windows slowing down just before hitting the edge when closing and opening. Things like that are LUXURY not the damn harsh ride, 20 inch flat wheels on runflats, M-sport badges with a massive spoiler and exhaust note. Luxury is something that makes you lift your thoughts from things that you have to do and make you be able to think about the next step on your journey already and that is what Lexus has done with this one. Well done Lexus, cant wait to have these in our Luxury chauffeur car fleet instead of audi A6 and other german cars.
Nice looking car! 0:59 Lexus is not only introducing a new sedan in a market craving for crossovers, it's also the only brand that sells two mid-sized sedans (ES & GS).
I'd be interested to see how the interior options stack up against the new Avalon. Right now Lexus hasn't given away any real information regarding features and options. For instance, the Avalon comes with a 14 speaker 1200 watt surround sound option, and I'm wondering if the ES will somehow best that.
He's wrong about one thing. He says the F - Sport comes with the sport knob and the ES doesn't. Well, yes it does! What is amazing to me is when you are turning at low speeds there is a side light that comes on. It is to the left or right of your head lights. Really casts a wide beam of light.
I always wanted a Lexus. This is my second ES350. The ride is awesome! Fuel economy is great. Reliability is off the charts. I will always buy Lexus.I had Toyota before but Lexus is a step way above.
Such an elegant and sophisticated vehicle. Honda/Acura fanboys blood boils when the best of Luxury shines. Plus they tend to troll Toyota/Lexus videos 😂😂🤣🤣 I guess they think Lexus will become devalued like Honda/Acuras lineup lol
Definitely will consider scooping me one of these when my lease is up... once it's been used and price goes down. Hope they put AWD in sometime soon but that probs wont happen
Those 3.5l V6s with roughly 300hp have been in production for past 10 years.....it's a nice and super reliable engine but Lexus needs something with at least 350-380 to compete with others. Also 6+ second 0-60 is considered slow today when family sedans are capable of accelerating under 3 seconds!
most people are not in a race...in fact, most people are in traffic so that 180,000 AMG is going the same speed as a Hyundia...in your brain its a competition, to the rest of the world its a rat race with no clear winner
stickloaf It's about driving dynamics and I never sit in any traffic. My current car does 0-60 in about 4.5 second or less and I use it's horse power and torque every single day. Driving a Hyundai, you wouldn't understand anything about performance cars.
guy proulx No one cares about 0-60, it's just a performance measurement that gives you the idea of horsepower to weigh ratio and car dynamic capability. That's why many cars are V8s, V10s, V12s, supercharged or turbocharged. If no one cared, we would all be driving shitty NA 4 cylinders
guy proulx You obviously have no clue what a performance car is and why people buy them. My car has close to 400hp and I have zero speeding tickets and I use all 400hp every single day. For next car planning to get high performance V8 with over 400
Even my wife who has zero tickets in her entire life can't drive underpowered cars. She has Lexus with 3.5l engine and around 5 second 0-60 acceleration, even she thinks its barely enough for daily driving. And on top of it, performance cars are not only about engine but also about handling
your missing one thing that this generation lexus es is the replacement of the lexus gs. lexus gs has been discontinued because the gs has less selling unit than before because of the es has great amount of selling unit and another reason is because of SUVs and Crossovers! RIP Lexus GS 😔
.......that they need to do a new chassis not refresh it! I've got the es300h which is nice cruiser but a little lacking in the mpg a little bit if you ask me. Combine 40mpg in my 2014 is ok then and not so great now.
It can't be 6.6 secs to 100, i guess he meant 5.6 secs, that's the old time he's quoting for the 5th gen and 6th gen es. This new Es is faster by some margin. You guys should also remind us whenever you do Audi reviews of how the A4 and A6 share similar platform and parts with the Jetta and Passat respectively.
ssr1680 My XSE V6 is a 5.8 second car. That's a shame this ES F Sport isn't faster. IMO it should have more power to back the sporty style. I love this car and it does resemble my 2018 Camry . 👍🏻
It will not compete with Audi A4, Mercedes C-Claas and BMW 3 Series. It will compete with A6, 5-Series and E-Claas. The reason is, that they delite the GS. The ES replaces it and the old ES. So there is the IS (midsize), ES (upper midsize), LS (fullsize / Luxury-Claas).
For about another 5 years car should all have CD players, lots of people still have cd players and want to play them in their cars because they haven't switched over.
0-60 in 6.6 with 300hp and its lighter than the GS? slow. FWD? no. sporty agressive styling but handles like grandmas Buick? rice. nice car for people who don't care about cars, but the new Avalon and Camry are just as nice inside for less money. You're literally paying for the badge, which is douchey. I don't understand this car or Lexus. Compared to their respective competition, half of their lineup(ES,NX, RX,GX) is absolute crap for the money, and the other half (GS,LS,LX,LC) is very nice for the money, if not best in class. RC and IS are just middle of the road good enough.
Jonathan Washington 6.6 is quick , but some 4 cylinders can do 0-60 in 6.7- 7 seconds , that means they will be able to keep up with this car with no sweat .
tinhinnh Those cars are much smaller than the IS. It competes with the 3 series, A4, C-class, and Genesis G70, and etc. Those cars aren't much bigger or even shorter than the IS.
I can't even...First off😂, EVERY car uses plastic. Second off, the exhaust is still going into the tip. It's not like VW/Audi where they put fake exhaust tips and then the exhaust is beneath the opening. Third off, that's too much horsepower for this car. It would be heavy because of a bigger engine/turbo you would add this car. They added enough horsepower. After all, it's still an ES. They wanted it to be a little more sporty for the younger buyers and still get the luxury they desire without too much horsepower.
guy proulx Id pick good build quality and reliability....but it would be nice if the ES won't be so much of a tarted up Avalon and offer AWD and 365 HORSEPOWER.
i was planning to buy ES sport badly but since i know that its rear signal rear lights arent dynamic which i want badly im just lost now :( i believe it will be fixed 2020 version i would kill myself if i bought 2019 and 2020 came with it lol RIP
Um, you talk about the _inside_ of the trunk and the size yet you don't even show us the inside of the trunk! Instead we get a shot of the underside of the trunk lid. WTF. It would have been great to actually see the inside of the trunk and even how it is with the rear seats folded. Maybe that will be in the full review.
Thank you - for some reason I like Nathan, and Roman compared to Sarah. N and R just bring more maturity to the video. On a side note I had a dream that I sold my s8 and bought a ls500 lol
Stop using the word EMBARGO. Embargo pertains to restriction or ban of goods/trades/commodities with a particular country. The same restriction that the US put on Cuban goods.
Please give us a new GS this car does nothing for me inside or out, give us something that competes with the A6, E Class and 5 Series, this ES does not come close to competing with those German Products.
I don't know what the argument is about horsepower and 0 to 60 times. This car with what it has will eventually make the others, some with more power, eventually become extinct. If the regular Joe got to decide what they want in a car, we would all be driving an lifted F450 on 45's with three rows of seating, panoramic sunroof......and everything else that will drive it to extinction. You have to look and see that Toyota and Lexus have to plans to stop selling the conventional sedans...because this and theirs are winners in their classes.
vistastructions there will be the new supra coming soon! but now they have the supra concept. it is also called toyota ft 1 concept which is the new supra. look it up 😊
There is no way in hell that someone shopping for a German sport sedan is going to cross shop the Lexus ES. Also don't you think the BMW equivalent to the MB C Class is actually the 4 Series and the Lexus IS and BMW 3 Series are closer to the MB CLA? Lexus is grasping at something that isn't there.
Lexus is doing something right. These cars are GORGEOUS. Wish I had my own
Lexus is definitely on the right track. I owned 2 RX's, 1 GS, and 1 Audi A4. At the time I purchased those luxury vehicles... I test drove all the other brands... GavinASMR exactly. Just got one like this yesterday. I’m in love
Gavin, I was thinking the same thing. Got mine last week! Beautiful car and a dream to drive. Very excited
The ES isn't supposed to be a sporty car. Its supposed to be a comfy car. Lowwer the cost for everyone and get rid of the Sport and Sport plus mode. Expecially for a front wheel drive vehicle. They have axed the GS in Europe. The ES is replacing it.

Lexus did a great job on the new ES.
It actually _SHARES_ the hood and fenders from the LS? That can't be true. Did you mean to say that the ES shares the _FACT_ that the hood and fenders are aluminum in both the LS and ES?
No it does not. Like the LS the good and fenders are aluminum in both cars.
By that logic
All cars share with each
They have rubber tyres
but not ALL cars have Aluminum hood and fenders, so its definetly worth saying it!
One base for camry / avalon / es.. one engine one gear..
Okay toyota
They call the new ES the baby LS.
This should have come with AWD.
There is going to be an AWD option
warset, That's the first I have heard of that news.
its called RX :D
there are discussions of it. because Lexus is axing GS sedans (production already ended), so to fill that position, they needed a performance mid-size sedan. Definite YES re: cars with CD players
I wonder whether all those who bash this car for being based on Avalon know that Audi’s are based on VWs , and RRs are based on BMWs.
The Toyota Avalon starts higher than the Tesla Model 3, Mercedes A-class/CLA/GLA, and BMW 328i...
so agree with your comment, as if all isn't built around something else and making it better......same shit occurs with airbus vs boeing jets.....when they all build upon each other.....that's known as progress......

Looks Muscular! Sportier!. I'd love to own one over any entry level premium brand family car segment.
Roman You’re the best person to review my favorite Lexus car
Nice looking car! 0:59 Lexus is not only introducing a new sedan in a market craving for crossovers, it's also the only brand that sells two mid-sized sedans (ES & GS).
4:11 There are even younger people who still prefer the sound quality of a CD, instead of an MP3 track.
Woah, the quality of this video is very good guys. Very cinematic. Great job guys
I have a 2007 Lexues es and I love it. I bought it as my first car. I think I’ll get this one next.
you'll love it, if you can get the fsport es 350 all black.......
I'd be interested to see how the interior options stack up against the new Avalon. Right now Lexus hasn't given away any real information regarding features and options. This is a fab video, thanks for sharing!

Please test out its new lane tracing assist(LTS) and see how it is vs propilot, autopilot, supercruise, etc.
it works.....lol......
Fantastic car looks absolutely amazing
An ES350 & Toyota Avalon comparison would be helpful and appreciated (for a future video).
Save your money and buy the Avalon.
Exactly the same size, same engine and same adaptive suspension, the only addition I'm aware of is the CD player.
I always wanted a Lexus. This is my second ES350. The ride is awesome! Fuel economy is great. Reliability is off the charts. I will always buy Lexus.I had Toyota before but Lexus is a step way above.

I don't play CDs often but I miss having one in my car because I'd liked to get books on CD at the library and play them on my commute.
I'm 53 and have Zeppelin greatest hits in my CD player
Doesnts compair how it's rivals but it sure would outlast it's rivals tho!
My wife likes car that last long since I don’t. That’s why we’re getting this ES.
If it doesn't try to kill you like my 2014 ES300H tried to do a few years ago! Lol
It’s beautiful
there should be a 400 horsepower AWD or RWD car between the ES and LS.
Its not on the same frame as the Camry, its stretched, so there is more legroom and the wheelbase is longer
Great Review Roman. I am curious as to why they did offer AWD on this vehicle to truly justify the cost over the platform mate Avalon
Definitely will consider scooping me one of these when my lease is up... once it's been used and price goes down. Hope they put AWD in sometime soon but that probs wont happen

ES beautiful 👍🇯🇵❤️
I love it👍👍👍👍👍
Beautiful car! :-)
There will be an ES 350 F-Sport AWD in a few months, plus new engine options further down the road.
your missing one thing that this generation lexus es is the replacement of the lexus gs. lexus gs has been discontinued because the gs has less selling unit than before because of the es has great amount of selling unit and another reason is because of SUVs and Crossovers! RIP Lexus GS 😔
i had a gs 350 and loved it, however it looks dated, and when you have this new es, then that is the way to go.......i still loved my gs.....
Doesn't the eco/sport option exist in the non-sport trim model as well? Are the suspensions actually any different? Please let me know.
excellent presentation
.......that they need to do a new chassis not refresh it! I've got the es300h which is nice cruiser but a little lacking in the mpg a little bit if you ask me. Combine 40mpg in my 2014 is ok then and not so great now.
Is it me or does the back looks similar to the Mazda 6.........
R II its just you lol this car is on another level more elegant mazda6 is nice though for the price that is 👍🏻.
I'm a Lexus owner and I TOTALLY agree with u lol
more like the outgoing GS
Looks like an Altima/Mazda 6
R II lol it is You look at mazda6 toomuch
TFL ... is it worth waiting for the 2019 ES, before buying a 2018?
Just wait. New model is much more modern, more luxurious and simply better in every other way.
Yes
yes, all new car....
Looks like they went backwards. Previous year does 0-60 in 5.8 seconds. What happened to dashboard? Did the lead designer catch flu?
great car......
I own a Lexus, but next car will be an Avalon. Just can’t pay 10k more for a badge.
where is the followup video with driving impressions??
0-60 mph 6.6 seconds that's slower than a Kia Cadenza , Buick Lacrosse and a Hyundai Elantra smh etc
ssr1680 kinda underrated when Avalon does it around 6s
ssr1680 true lol my 2012 es is low 6s (lower weight ofc) kinda annoying
ssr1680 My XSE V6 is a 5.8 second car. That's a shame this ES F Sport isn't faster. IMO it should have more power to back the sporty style. I love this car and it does resemble my 2018 Camry . 👍🏻
tinhinnh The all-new Avalon actually does it in 5.6 seconds according to Toyota.
J The all-new Camry (with the V6) actually does it in 5.5 seconds, just to notify you...
Does it also get Android Auto play? You only said only Apple & Alexa. Hopeful, wishing...
Hmm this was abruptly deleted yesterday morning, why? 🤔
The video had 10 seconds of black in the middle. We had to re-edit it.
When will Toyota & Lexus add Android Auto integration?
Pretty awesome car! I think that ES will take buyers away from Cadillac, Mercedes and definitely Acura. By the way is that Chris still around? LOL!
0-60 in 6.6 seconds Fsport??? YAWN!!!! It does look good.
Sorry Dude,, I'm 39 years old And still use CDs !!!!!
Lexus and Acura are really good at making cars that look fast but aren't at all.
For about another 5 years car should all have CD players, lots of people still have cd players and want to play them in their cars because they haven't switched over.
Meh, rather buy the new Avalon. Seriously.
Anton Zuykov Except the Avalon is not as nice looking as this one.
Avalon has heated rear seats the es doesn't
@Anton Zuykov 40 is the starting price for the ES...
Front and side sexy
Tail lights reminds me of hyundai
6.6 to 60 is quick however I will note the Canry is faster which makes no sense and I wont begin on how much quicker the Accord is.
Jonathan Washington 6.6 is quick , but some 4 cylinders can do 0-60 in 6.7- 7 seconds , that means they will be able to keep up with this car with no sweat .
Miko Its quick but my point was lower family sedan are wayyyy quicker even Toyota's Camry is quicker
Just about every auto maker makes platforms that are shared, stop pointing that out like they are the only one that does that!
lexus should offer turbos for their NA engines make them more exciting toyota.
Great video..
I prefer the infiniti..
Greetings from Yemen
3rd upload 🤔🤔
Ahmed Moosaji when were the other uploads?
AchillesPhazd they deleted it
Over the past 2 days
The ES competes with the 3 series, C Class, and A4? Also, the ES was the entry-level Lexus? Where does that put the IS?
theharesbreath they put that as compact luxury car
This is a midsized sedan.
ES competes with the A6/5-series/E-class and it's going to replace GS around the world.
the germans have gotten bigger so the IS competes with A3, 1series, CLA...
tinhinnh Those cars are much smaller than the IS. It competes with the 3 series, A4, C-class, and Genesis G70, and etc. Those cars aren't much bigger or even shorter than the IS.
1. should of been AWD.
2. should have 365-400 HP.
3. should get ride of all plastics.
4. shouldn't have FAKE EXHAUST TIPS.
and of course all that for 40.000 right? ;-) start using your brain
South Carolina Dashxam there should be a car between the ES and LS that has 400 HP and cost $50.000~.
Rye Shelton. The Lexus GS F....
guy proulx Id pick good build quality and reliability....but it would be nice if the ES won't be so much of a tarted up Avalon and offer AWD and 365 HORSEPOWER.
i was planning to buy ES sport badly but since i know that its rear signal rear lights arent dynamic which i want badly im just lost now :( i believe it will be fixed 2020 version i would kill myself if i bought 2019 and 2020 came with it lol RIP
I would buy it.......you can change it with the next car you get lol....
Why not AWD??
Wait, starting price for a 40,000 US dollar for ES? you got to be kidding me
Does anyone else not like the side mirrors? They look like they cut down on visability
I’m afraid this will kill the GS sales... oh wait
Yup, it looks like the inside of a trunk. Dark and carpeted.
AWD is no there?
Maybe it's me but I feel like all the current Lexus models look the same ( IS 250 350 LS 300 etc.)
ES="new GS". 🤔
Thank you - for some reason I like Nathan, and Roman compared to Sarah. N and R just bring more maturity to the video. On a side note I had a dream that I sold my s8 and bought a ls500 lol
? How much is priced in US dollars
??
Stop using the word EMBARGO. Embargo pertains to restriction or ban of goods/trades/commodities with a particular country. The same restriction that the US put on Cuban goods.
How tall you are?😊
No Android Auto? Boooooo! Bad Lexus. Luckily all their rivals (except BMW) has it :)
Please give us a new GS this car does nothing for me inside or out, give us something that competes with the A6, E Class and 5 Series, this ES does not come close to competing with those German Products.
3rd reupload? Wth is going on
quit w the craving for crossovers! not everybody wants one and why are civics and corollas still the top sellers?
I don't know what the argument is about horsepower and 0 to 60 times. This car with what it has will eventually make the others, some with more power, eventually become extinct. If the regular Joe got to decide what they want in a car, we would all be driving an lifted F450 on 45's with three rows of seating, panoramic sunroof......and everything else that will drive it to extinction. You have to look and see that Toyota and Lexus have to plans to stop selling the conventional sedans...because this and theirs are winners in their classes.
40k for slow ugly fwd car? So many other options. Even more when you factor in used market.
My lexus ls430 has a cassette player and it's a 2006 model, that CD player probably be there until 2030 when world moved onto itunes cranial implants
A Rebadged Toyota Avalon Same Engine, same Center armrest. In Lexus clothing. Probably worth the extra $10,000 Over the Avalon.
top 10 things u need to know about 2019 lexus es. 1 - 10 : it is a toyota avalon!!!!
Yet again, the F sport trim is just a ricer trim. No different engine or transmission. They should have went with a 2JZ successor. Sigh
vistastructions there will be the new supra coming soon! but now they have the supra concept. it is also called toyota ft 1 concept which is the new supra. look it up 😊
It doesn’t compete with any European rear wheel drive cars...
6.6 doesn’t deserve F badge.
Buy the is its cheaper
An F-sport ES ??!!!
There is no way in hell that someone shopping for a German sport sedan is going to cross shop the Lexus ES. Also don't you think the BMW equivalent to the MB C Class is actually the 4 Series and the Lexus IS and BMW 3 Series are closer to the MB CLA? Lexus is grasping at something that isn't there.
the back kinda looks like a chrysler 200
JogBird really? for me it looks like lexus GS
Nice car but I prefer the new Acura RDX A-Spec.
07:49 you should wear some bras with that! jk!
