Hi. I'm a single father with two daughters. One of my daughters lives with me permanently. I found myself watching RUclips videos on doing hair and to me your videos were the most helpful in the most easiest for me to understand. I comb my daughter's hair every morning before she goes to school. It used to be hell for me to get even a wide pick comb through her hair but after seeing your methods and learning how to use a blow dryer correctly, that pick, comb and brush slides right through her hair with no problem. She looks so beautiful and she is much more happier to get her hair comb now🙂. Keep making the vids! Stay blessed!
Great job and thank you for being a great dad for your daughters...just in case you haven't been told lately. ❤️
What an awesome dad 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
Good job dad
💕
I love thinking about dads loving their daughters. This made my day. Thank you for being present in her life! 💖
When your blow-dry is so good, that the hair looks like it’s already been flat-ironed

ME TOO!!!
Me too! I even rewind if I miss apart if someone interrupt me!! I don’t want to miss one word or what she has to say about how to do anyone’s hair!!!!
Sometimes twice
Me too!! I love her vibe. She's imformational...and her voice is so soothing she puts me to sleep while watching. Lol
I agree. She has an obvious love for what she does and doesn’t mind teaching others. She’s captivating and makes you feel like you’re right there with her. I do a pretty good job with my hair, but I have taken away some nuggets.
“Heat isn’t the enemy, lack of knowledge is” VERY true!
I love that statement. The same applies to chemicals and protective styles as well.

I wish you would make a video “everything you need to know about using heat”. I watch your videos so much and for some reason I still think I’m using heat wrong smh 🤦🏾♀️
I got you!
Me too!!
I would like this too.
@@DeeperThanHairTv yes please!!! Thank You!
Congratulations Jay!,,,
She has fine strands and her hair is heavy because she has a lot of them. I knew what you meant sis lol.
My hair is like that... Super fine, but there's so much of it that it is very thick and heavy. Even now (I'm in my mid-40s) after losing half my hair it still looks thick and heavy because there is still just so much of it!
@@shevaunhandley1543 Yep, you can have fine and thick hair, just like you can have coarse and thin hair. My hair is very similar to yours. Fine strands, but very thick and dense.
@@libbystwinfreelibby1839 yes, my hair currently is coarse but lacks density. As I've gotten older and my hair is thinning it's a lot less than in my 20's but it's still coarse. I'm thankful for that, it's probably the only thing keeping me from looking straight to my scalp.
After 45 years, I finally figured out the other day that's how my hair is 🤦🏽♀️🤣

I'm not sure what I like more. Your hair styling, or your positive attitude and message. What a joy you are to watch. You're inspiring.
This woman is great example of showing the light of God wherever you are.
“Surround yourself with people that will lift you higher” that hits deep

@@ksway8471 Bingo. I'm literally having this conversation with someone. Their family is toxic, and they're like, "I can't cut my family off, can I?" Um. Yes, the hell you can!! Toxic is toxic.

I'm white and started my hair career in a mixed salon and learned that if I wanted to survive financially and emotionally, I needed to become a real stylist and do ALL people's hair. Black, white, Puerto Rican, everybody just a freakin.
i really don’t understand how most hairstylists don’t know how to do ALL hair, like isn’t that their job?? but good for you for learning !
@@bjkl9936 There's a LOT of stuff beauty school doesn't teach. Stylists learn most of what they need at their salon, and from outside education. If their salon isn't in a diverse area, they've got to take control of their own education, and sadly not everyone does.
I wouldn’t let ur filthy chalk hands up in my scalp but good luck

It doesn't anymore. :D muahahha. I'm happy youtube hid dislikes. It always annoyed me when I see people who work hard to create something get dislikes by some punks on the internet.
I love this lady she is judgemental free and passionate about her work, she the reason i like my hair now!
I like how she takes her time, no rush and is really gently doing her job. Unlike some saloons where they brushed tf out of my tangled hair and it was painful🥲

Experiences like this is why I just can't go through salon hands blindly again 😔😔😔
My heart can't take it
“Why are you putting butter on me!?” “You’re cooking my burn sis!” sent me 😭😂
It's werid she said that cause my mother did that to me as well lol and when I told someone about it they looked at me like I had 3 heads lbvs
@@lizzyhernandez7497 I've never used butter, personally, but I have definitely heard that as a common folk remedy/ old wives' tale. You're not alone!
You are the first stylist that I see who actually care about your clients more than showing off your ninja 🥷 cutting skills. I’m glad you talked Jayla out of getting a big chop because it really wasn’t necessary. You worked around it and her hair turned out beautifully. You truly are a master of your craft!💕
Her hair is really pretty. As soon as you lifted the towel, I thought "Wow!"
Right!!
That’s exactly what I thought, such pretty hair.
After her hair was done, Jayla's beautiful profile (without the mask) reminded me of a Black cameo pin I once saw

I like that you told this client like "hey I know you think you wanna cut all your hair off but let's try something else that will give you a better result." you could've just went in and taken her money and sent her on her way but you actually thought about her and her needs and THEN went in and gave her hair some love and attention. I just love that you go the extra step for your clients to make sure they get the most. Her photos were stunning! Lovely job.
Aww thanks! I'm always here to save the hair! If they keep insisting, then I'll do it but if I come up with an alternative and they like that, then we'll go with that! Omg, can we just talk about her gorgeous skin?! Congratulations young lady, you’re ready to take on the world 🌍
So beautiful!!
Ikr!! Gorgeous
I just graduated cosmo school in Jan of 2020 and learned how to use an electric stove to straighten and curl textured hair. I remember the class smelling like burnt hair/paper from us learning how to check the temp and how long to hold the implements on the hair. Most of our mannequins had hair burnt off them and bald spots by the end of the day
Lol I graduated cosmetology school in 1998 and we only used marcel irons. Stylist where laughed at if they used electric flat/curling irons back then on black hair.
CONGRATULATIONS!!!💖💖💖💖💖
I’m currently in hair school, idk about anywhere else but we’re required to learn to use marcels, straightening combs. I love using them!!
I feel like a lot of people have a weird thing where the back of their hair is super different from the front, myself included.
3 textures on one head. Don't make any sense.
Me too...three textures..very interesting tryna style
3 textures on this head too! Hahahah whew my right side is thinner than my left too. Gotta remember to cut with a higher guard to give the appearance that they are equal
Same! Back of my head is ringlets and the front is almost straight. Wish my head would just choose 1
Same back it my head is different curl pattern than the rest of my head
I'm not black, but I was raised in a Predominately Black neighborhood in the '80s, and NOTHING reminds me of Easter weekend than the Marcel iron. I would go over my friend's house and we would be talking while her mother would do all her girls' hair. I always loved seeing the results.

I was 24 years old with butter on a burn, following my mother's recommendation dying of pain at work when my white supervisor was like "get that stuff off your hand it's cooking you and go to the pharmacy to get some burn cream" the relief within minutes! Whenever I got my hair flat ironed straight, the stylist would tell me to wrap it at night. I never got the hang of wrapping so I would pin curl my hair and would have bouncy curls the next day. Loved it!

Tell Jayla, congratulations. She is beautiful and so is her hair. I love watching you work and listen to your calming voice. You make it look so easy.
