Seriously I don't know when this became the new norm for clients to wash their own hair, yet their prices stay the same. If a stylist asked me to wash my hair prior I don't need their services.
It’s extremely weird to me, in cosmetology school we are taught to ALWAYS ALWAYS wash the client’s hair (unless it’s a chemical service) before even touching their head with a comb. Maybe these stylists aren’t licensed and just are hair enthusiasts.

I love doing hair, started off practicing on myself, family and then the neighborhood kids and friends hair. I started off with shampoo/conditioner, braids, blow dry and flat iron, then relaxers, weaves, and the good old Jerry Curls (respect). But when I was young, I really had no one to encourage me or lead me in the right directions. So I fell off, tried so many jobs that I just didn't satisfy me. In 2014 at the good old age of 48 i decided to go cosmetology school. I learned the basic and understanding the hair. I started out at one school but was kicked out because I could not make it to school on time due to my school was across town and my then boss on my regular 8-4:30 job, wouldn't allow me to leave earlier enough to make it to school. So I went to another school, I left their because of the drama, finally I found a school that I loved, finished my training and graduate. My goal was to go to the board to take the test and get liscenced.
I love how she made sure not to put too much stress on her natural hair. A lot of beauticians only care about the final outcome and not the health of their clients hair. Great tutorial
