Thank you for sharing! I’m transitioning also. I haven’t had a relaxer in years but I’ve always flat ironed my hair so I have a lot of heat damage 😢

I am curious what made you try relaxed hair as before you were natural?
Honestly, I wanted something that was easier to maintain. I was natural for 10 years and it was a lot of work. I also have 3 kids. 2 little girls with super thick 4/b 4/c hair and our wash days combined we’re taking all I had. Even trying to split the days was consuming to much of my time. It still takes 4-5 hours to wash, detangle and twist their hair. Straight hair was my resolution at the time but I miss my curls.
Not to mention, my son is also bi-racial and he asking me to two strand twist his hair. It was so much going on.
Maybe you should pincurl instead and I noticed you didnt use a heat protectant(a no-no). Also you should use a light holding spray especially on the roots, that should make your hair style last longer
The Mizani 25 Miracle milk leave in spray I used is also a heat protector up to 450. When I took the rollers down I did use a light hairspray, Paul Mitchell Flexible Style Super Clean Spray. I’ll definitely pin curl the next time but I needed the volume the rollers provided. Thanks sis for your suggestions.
