It is a great guitar for the money. Korean imports are getting really good. Only warnings would be that the shape takes getting used to if you're not an Explorer person already, & Moderns aren't my favorite pickup. I think the TOM makes it a great choice over the other SLS Elites.
It's a fret wrap. The strings can vibrate behind the nut and create a lot of extra noise if you're playing staccato stuff with heavier strings or a bunch of gain (like metalcore haha). I usually don't use one these days but I'll use that or just a cheapo hair tie if I'm recording and it's causing a problem.

@@Bedroomrips for many people Hipshot can be more comfortable but TOMs have a great sound IMO
