It’s almost like you’re watching my machine to see what problem I’m trying to solve 😂. Thanks so much for this. Not only are your videos perfectly presented (for me), they are so on point.
OMG, just what I need. I have 2 files that come in twice a month that I need to report on. Although they have the same data, they are laid out differently. I should be able to separate them and process them separately. I've gone into Outlook for survey data, but hadn't thought of if for this application. Thanks for the direction for my real world problem.
Wizardry for sure.😀 but I like it. 🤩😍 My work won’t let me use the skills I already have but I sure is fun watching a proper expert at work and I will continue to watch and learn just for the fun of it.🤩😍
I did spend some time looking into that as another video, but all I found were some rather expensive 3rd-party options to do that; nothing built in to Power Query. Microsoft really need to approve some sort of "free", included connector for those platforms. Thanks for watching.
Great video, thank you so much. I do have one question. If I make a Power Query Excel sheet for other people to use, would it be possible to have the outlook username & password as a parameter set in my sheet so anyone can put their info in without having to change the Query?
@@BerndLegue I’ve never thought of that. I’m guessing that would not work because the username and password are not kept in the M code, rather in the credential cache of the P.C. I’ll look into it, but I would wager that it’s a “no”. Cheers. (Great question)
Just checking if I'm doing this in PBI, the refresh via PBI server is enough? Does Outlook need to be open for "things" to happen (file transfer rules etc)? Or everything is email server based so refreshes will work? Thanks

Glad to be of service. I'll keep monitoring your computer for future video topics 😄
I've never seen anything like this! Simply extraordinary!!
I agree; it is pretty cool.
Brilliant! Very useful feature!
Appreciate if the readers could mention the various scenarios that they have used this feature for.
Thank you for saying so. I agree; use cases would be nice to read.

Hi! Great solution. Wondering, will it work with Power BI Reporting Server?
@@tavanix I’ve not tested it using Report Server, but I don’t see why it wouldn’t.
Outstanding !
Thank you!!!!

@@bcti-bcti That would be great. I already use that concept with VBA in Excel but I am a bit new to the Power Query stuff.
Cool! It is crazy simple and great. Maybe vídeo for gmail after a 🤠

Have you checked the contents of your CSV files? The TranDate column contains two types of date format - DD/MM/YY and MM/DD/YYYY.
I must be blind because I'm not seeing any formatting difference. Can you tell me which file(s) and an example of the difference? Thanks.
Apologies, it my error! Keep up the good work 👍@@bcti-bcti

@@Bondoz007 as long as you have your email in an Exchange or Office 365 environment, it should work just fine.
