    On my 2022 American Standard Gold 18 Two-Stage heat pump the true suction port is directly under the reversing valve on the center line.

    Will low refrigerant cause the heat not to work at all? I was told the coolant was low on mine never worked with heat pumps before I’m from upstate ny now living in sc

      It will as far as the heat pump goes. You should have electric auxiliary heat with a heat pump system.

    I thought you use the common port for heat mode

    • @AIRMANHVAC
      @AIRMANHVAC  3 года назад +1

      Hey Russell! We’re in heat mode for this video. You do use the true suction port for this system for a low pressure reading and what I would call your vapor port for a high pressure reading. That’s the setup we’ve shown here.

      Hahaha....I’m new to this RUclips thing. I’ve employed and talked with a lot of new people in residential HVAC over 15 years and over half didn’t understand what I covered in this video. One step at the time is what I’m trying to do with my content. Now that we’re getting into the cooling season, I’ll be sure to go more in depth on the parameters that affect psi, temps, subcooling & superheat.
