Glad I found you. I could never remember how to attach gauges in heat mode. Plus you explained approximately what the proper refrigerant should be if no info at outside unit. Thank you.👍
thanks like always , your videos are so helpful I’m glad there is people like you in the field willing to help , specially for me that i’m just starting out.
Nice video!, good tips. I'm on the commercial side this is where rules of thumb come in handy, I like to focus on saturation temperature rather than pressure. Keep up the good work!
If I had a 32 degree outdoor Temp, about 80 on suction pressure, 21 degree suction saturation, high side about 315 psi, outdoor metering device is a TXV. Would that seem normal. I had a unit that would lockout intermittently in heat mode due to pressure dropping so low. Other times pressures would drop very low but would stabilize to the readings I stated above. I was thinking TXV wasn’t opening up properly but now I am wondering if charge is low.
It’s possible but normally an overcharge system will cut off on high pressure and then it would just be cool air blowing and the outdoor would not be running
Depending if you have a txv or a piston. On a piston your high side is the big line, on a txv you hook to your small line. But if he has a piston then he's hooked up right.
Only with a txv (I think it is)...if the liquid line has a threaded connection right behind where your gauge connects it's a piston and if soldered than it's got a txv valve (or whatever) and your hook-up is at the smaller liquid line.
Hi thanks for the video. Hope you can point me out on my problem. I switched from heating to A/C and my SSZ14 is not starting. The error code on my goodman furnace AVPTC is C1 - LOW STAGE COOL - LEGACY MODE ONLY. Do you have any idea how to resolve this issue. The unit was working great during winter but now switching to A/C and the heat pump is not starting anymore. Thanks Hugo

Very informative video, thank you! If all HVAC pros were this generous with their knowledge the world would be a better place.

Man this had been bothering me all night, had the probe on the discharge port .Thanks
Thank you man been doing this 4 months definitely needed that
Thank you for the video, extremely helpful, something I’ve always struggled with as a tech

I’m starting on this business this help me a lot
Thank for your help clear and simple good job
Nice tech tips.
Thanks for sharing
Very explicit thanks for sharing
Great tips! Awesome video!! Thanks for sharing!!!
This will forever be my go-to video.. I'm in AZ.. these crazy people demand heat when it's 58 outside.. it's rough being in call
Thanks for sharing this tip. Appreciate the short and to the point video.
Good explanation on checking heat mode pressures
Thank you 🙏 this was very helpful
Great video 💯💯💯💯💯
Thank you for the video it was very helpful for me thank you for the tip
Thanks for the good info. Also liked the TRUMP banner in the background>
tRump sucks!!!
Thanks. Right to the point!
Awesome job
Nice vid. Helped me out, thanks.
thanks buddy. love your flag
Lol wasn't mine but... I do too
Thank you!! You helped me a lot
Is it for any brand? Or just goodman ...
Should I hook my gauges on true suction and high side when is it cooling?
I have a same gauges as u do btw
You still charing r410a thru suction line on heat mode?
Good video bro 😎
How do you know which indoor air flow rate to use for that chart?
Series of equipment plus indoor dry bulb
I have 120 on low and 400 on high? Is my high too high? 410a heatpump running heat.
Thanks for the tip! Great Video. Would this procedure still apply for a Modulating Split System Heat Pump?
Thank you!
Hello, can make a video on how to do maintenance on heat pump in heating mode? Thanks
hi, question how do i hook up my gauge in package unit in heat mode , i only see two port high and low . thank u
So the colder it is out the lower your pressure will be on suction when in heat mode Thanks for sharing
Thanatos lot for this teaching
I have this in my place,i have hot water in the sink but only mild in the tub? Help me! Thanks
Nice thanks
thank u ,,, for sharing ,,
That help me a lot

I would need to know the suction line temp and the chart if possible to know for sure, but it sounds like it will be close on the charge.
Appreciate it Bro
What are the symptoms on the heat pump being over charged in heat mode. Would it be blowing cool air?
It’s possible but normally an overcharge system will cut off on high pressure and then it would just be cool air blowing and the outdoor would not be running
The hose hook up may differ if you have a piston for a metering device for heating
How so
So how is the hose hook up on a Carrier with a piston different?
@@onemoreboatyou would hook the high side to the 3/8 liquid line
What kind of gauges do you use?
Fieldpiece probes for everyday and the sman 460 when im pulling vacuums or recovering
Red hose goes on the liquid line in both heat and cool, you got it on hot gas side in heating
Depending if you have a txv or a piston. On a piston your high side is the big line, on a txv you hook to your small line. But if he has a piston then he's hooked up right.
Yes it’s a piston
@@aaronshoyt I don't really see why it matters if there is a TXV or not? I'm confused.
That's true unless it's a Carrier with the piston right at the service valve.
It all depends on location of metering device, not the type of
In heat mode you connect red gauges to liquid line (small line)
Not if it’s a piston
Only with a txv (I think it is)...if the liquid line has a threaded connection right behind where your gauge connects it's a piston and if soldered than it's got a txv valve (or whatever) and your hook-up is at the smaller liquid line.

Hey, I really like that TRUMP sign in the background. GREAT VIDEO. LETS GO BRANDON.
That trump sign though! Good customer
I meant Thanks
Good video. Could of been better if you hang caught that crappy sign in the background.
It's never right checking out pressure in heating when it's cold.
So anything under 70 its low on refrigerant
No. There are many factors as to why it could be low to check before just assuming it's low on gas.
I'll hide the disconnect pull out after seeing that Trump banner.
Only a lib would do something like that
Thanks
