45:39 for the record Pauper is a format where all cards have to have been printed in common at some point (even if your particular card is of a different rarity). Most cards are cheap since they're common, but some staples are in the $20-$30 range due to popularity. Though it's such a diverse format that the average deck is probably $20 in it's entirety.

For those that don't know MTG has already had a Manga, it's called Duel Masters. Those old enough might recall that there was a TCG and Anime called by the same name but the Original Manga was based on MTG in 1999.
You guys really did get me back into the game, Paul recommended Swordsoul Tenyi as a good starter deck in an older video and I've been having the most fun I've ever had with the game. Coming from a former yugiboomer who ran a gravekeeper exodia deck back in the day

The woke thing is wild to me. I'm trans, so I'm basically the poster child for "woke". I notice however that they are more open about calling lgbt stuff "woke" but they don't talk about the racism openly. I find that interesting. I remember in amazon lotr and the disney mermaid that they had specific issues with the colour of character's skin too. Its not just lgbt stuff 😣. Its just absolutely disgusting to me, anything that isnt straight and white is "woke" and they feel like they need to rally against it.

Cook keeps it alive, but he doesn't do anything else with it. Cook has always been a businessman, he was literally Apple's procurement specialist... I haven't expected Apple to pioneer anything since the early 2010s besides having things slowly taken away from me the more time goes on. 1:15:52 I can somewhat understand it, but for the most part it's ridiculous. It's a topic where sane people complain about a few things that I feel are legitimate, and then an urge inside certain people takes over and they create something over exaggerated for the sake of defending their own identity. For instance, I bring up an example in movies where Disney just decided to replace Ariel in the little mermaid with a black actress (nothing against the actress herself, I'm sure she was great)... Why? I have no idea... It's like making a live action version of Moana or something and making her white, why would you do that? It's these little stupid decisions that piss off regular people and start to make the people who want to make everything straight and white come out and feel they're justified in what they say. If you want to make a black movie, why not make a live action version of the princess and the frog? Or hell, a new story? These are the stupid types of decisions that bring these types of people out of the wood work.
I think Alex forgets how easy it is to hide things from ones parents, and by the time the kid(whose brain is incredibly malleable due to puberty, on top of whatever it was they were going through) was pulling away from reality it was largely to late. Especially when this kid probably thought this chatbot algorithm, not artificial intelligence, was a real person and that's dangerous
Funnily enough, there is a manga called Wizard's Soul that is very MTG adjacent. It's more of a slice of life / drama like Hikaru no Go. I enjoyed it a lot.
Substitoad was reprinted in battle of legends terminal revenge. I think as a secret rare. And from my locals I think I only saw 1-2 pulled the whole time it was available at my shop
I want to get in a couple things here so I’ll start with the yugioh mechanics: Reduce: Generic bosses and decks using multiple engines (should have a penalty of some kind for not running pure) Recycle: Link monsters - change all link 1’s to minimum link 2’s, and make their arrows relevant to gameplay maybe not as strict as master rule 4, I dont want non link decks locked out of playing Remove: All cards/stratgies who’s effect are basically saying the opponent cant play the game (Hot red Dragon Archfiend kind calamity, Kashtira, stun, etc) Favorite pokemon for each generation: Kanto: Raichu Johto: Espeon Hoenn: Mudkip Sinnoh: Lucario Unova: Chandelure Kalos: Aegislash Alola: Alolan Raichu Galar: Corviknight Paldea: Ceruledge
Actually frightening how so many “regular” people like my family members are still oblivious to AI. AI implementation within society and everyday life has already taken shape years ago. Blackrock, the management corporation who owns half of the world is already utilizing and continue to build Aladdin which attempts to be an end-to-end asset management platform. Aladdin in a nutshell, allows portfolio managers to see their wholistic portfolio and how to manage it depending on market conditions and environments. AI will continue to grow and whether people like it or not, AI will most likely be used in a back-ended way, which in other words whether they know it or not, they will be utilizing AI in some sort of capacity. If AI isn’t the real deal, an entity like Blackrock clearly wouldn’t waste their time and resources on it.
My recycle summon would be normal summon, make it so you can normal summon up to 4 stars in a turn. Ie one level 4, or a level 1 and 3, or 4 level 1s in one turn with normal summoning.
Reduce: Cheating out monsters (Zeus, Typhon, Arise-Heart, etc.) Remove: Fusion, Synchro, Pendulum & Link with EXTREME prejudice Recycle: Xyz as it is peak Yu-Gi-Oh Thank you for coming to my heavily biased TED Talk.

Some of these games out here on the market lately have been pandering alittle bit. People are not blind.the main issue though right now is that most games right now just simply are not fun and it makes all the other flaws stick out 10 times worse than they use too. I was playing New Vegas for the past week. Got so many flaws but it's still a GREAT game.. compare it to fallout 4 or 76 the newer titles even though they are more flashy New Vegas still trumps them.
Anything that's been happening with the FTC and the tbingfs they've been passing recently like the click to cancel and this new review botting can be attributed to Lina Khan. The GOP doesn't like her which always a good sign and she's been doing a lot for consumers. People are pushing Kamilla to keep her on if she wins, she's been that good.
Reduce: Hand Traps/Strength of hand traps, traps were good as they were and I believe they're part of the problem when it comes to how cards gained so many protections. Remove: Links, theyre just Synchros at this point. Recycle: Pendulum, they are mechanically interesting and I dont think they explored them properly or enough.
There is no need to remove links Just make them more specific summon conditions or lock you harder into an archetype No more apolussa No more omni-negates
Honestly? I hate when there are super generic extra deck cards I love fusions: they typically need in engine/specific stuff. Synchros may be generic but, i felt like it was a lil ok because you needed tuners Xyz's were pretty generic too but, the fact they didnt have levels i feel seperated them enough from the rest of the game Pendulums i'd argue there isnt a single generic one. You either run a pendulum deck or you dont, which i kinda like I will always hate links 😂 they take the worst part of Synchros, and the worst part of xyz. Super generic, no levels. Rituals are good too
Hey guys, as the uncle of an 11 year old girl who currently identifies as a boy, (I think she's going through a phase personally and she's just heavily overinfluenced by the internet and her generation's culture, but I do respect HIS pronouns, and care about them very much) I wanted to add that I am 27 and I hid a lot from my parents as a kid and young adult, and I know that my "nephew" is capable of hiding a lot too, and they are probably even more internet savvy and fluent than I am, they know to clear history and logout and delete traces of whatever they've done, they've confided in me a bit, about personal feelings and my mother (the child's primary guardian) doesn't know a lot about what kids are doing now, it's not like we're not paying attention or caring, kids have gotten very sneaky, so be careful blaming parents or guardians for things online or with ai involved, the issue is more complicated than that guys. I'm sorry for the rant, I love the channel and I love yugioh, I'm a very happy viewer, and subscriber, keep up the good work guys. I just wanted to share my perspective with you guys. A woke list could have a use in theory, but to call a game that has a gay character woke just because of that is insane and makes the whole list useless. If they would only highlight major stuff like agenda pushing, heavy censoring in localization and/or changing stuff in localization to be "less offensive" etc. it would show you which game could potentially have too many problems, limiting or ruining writing and characters.
Grown adults often have problems communicating with others when they are feeling suicidal. Sure the parents should have intervened sooner but what would that have that intervention have been? Surely if the child ever communicated that to them they would have intervened. I think the use of AI in this way should be more legislated in a way similar to gambling because theres at risk individuals who need to be protected from. And honestly I dont want to make assumptions about the parents maybe some sort of investigation will determine that they were neglectful or abusive but jesus christ their kid took their own life, I bet they are saddled with enough guilt despair.
I disagree with everything you guys said about changing the game. We need more cards like Chaos Angel. Links just are fixed Synchros since Konami can't be bothered to print useful tuners for every deck.
Oh yeah but then for decks that do have tuners not having to rely on hard open access to a tuner unless we really want to make swordsoul the basis of synchro decks because every other type has either branded fusion or voiceless in general to change how to summon the cards or like xyzs and links have way more lax restrictions on how the decks need to be designed
Too much product. We are adults with budgets, and we don't need new cards and products every single month into perpetuity like we are all chasing an ADHD sugar high. Slow down.
Just a reminder that Alex Jones was a local Austin joke, and due to that was able to get more traction and would still be an issue if not for a few big misteps he made. It's also how Trump got absurd amounts of free air time in the 2016 election. Giving the "Woke" video games list air time just to laugh at at isn't the best idea.

The parents are at fault a lot of the time when it comes to stuff like this. Parents should be involved with their kids at about 80-90 percent of a childs life, no exceptions. If you do not know what games they are playing, what kind of people they talk to, and what kind of websites they are browsing, then you do not know enough about your own kid and you are not parenting well. I am not saying parents need to jail their children, i just think the parents should set boundaries for whats right morally speaking. As a kid, ive messed around and i turned out fine, but things have changed and companies are trying to exploit early brain chemistry and development for profit. A parent should help filter that, not let it happen because of ignorance and cluelessness. It's not victim blaming, it is reality checking.
they are probaly getting crazy big investments in order to ruin/trannyafy all these new games, just like how they ruined the witcher season 3 with random pointless gay kissing scenes that had more screen time that any action moster fighting with the main characters, the gaming industry is next for the LGBT ruination. have nothing against people who are lbgt but the movement needs to stop spreading to places where it's completely unnecessary!

What I hate is that you have a perfectly normal story and then you shove gay into it because diversity money/points. I hate it, it needs to die as a business practice and I would really much like to go back to focusing on telling a good story where Gay isn't the main selling point. There are games that cater to that but most people don't connect with it. I hate it extremely much when TV shows do that as well, you have perfectly good characters and all of a sudden you turn them gay because reasons!?

Hey guys, as the uncle of an 11 year old girl who currently identifies as a boy, (I think she's going through a phase personally and she's just heavily overinfluenced by the internet and her generation's culture, but I do respect HIS pronouns, and care about them very much) I wanted to add that I am 27 and I hid a lot from my parents as a kid and young adult, and I know that my "nephew" is capable of hiding a lot too, and they are probably even more internet savvy and fluent than I am, they know to clear history and logout and delete traces of whatever they've done, they've confided in me a bit, about personal feelings and my mother (the child's primary guardian) doesn't know a lot about what kids are doing now, it's not like we're not paying attention or caring, kids have gotten very sneaky, so be careful blaming parents or guardians for things online or with ai involved, the issue is more complicated than that guys. I'm sorry for the rant, I love the channel and I love yugioh, I'm a very happy viewer, and subscriber, keep up the good work guys. I just wanted to share my perspective with you guys. A woke list could have a use in theory, but to call a game that has a gay character woke just because of that is insane and makes the whole list useless. If they would only highlight major stuff like agenda pushing, heavy censoring in localization and/or changing stuff in localization to be "less offensive" etc. it would show you which game could potentially have too many problems, limiting or ruining writing and characters.

Grown adults often have problems communicating with others when they are feeling suicidal. Sure the parents should have intervened sooner but what would that have that intervention have been? Surely if the child ever communicated that to them they would have intervened.
I think the use of AI in this way should be more legislated in a way similar to gambling because theres at risk individuals who need to be protected from. And honestly I dont want to make assumptions about the parents maybe some sort of investigation will determine that they were neglectful or abusive but jesus christ their kid took their own life, I bet they are saddled with enough guilt despair.
I disagree with everything you guys said about changing the game. We need more cards like Chaos Angel. Links just are fixed Synchros since Konami can't be bothered to print useful tuners for every deck.
Oh yeah but then for decks that do have tuners not having to rely on hard open access to a tuner unless we really want to make swordsoul the basis of synchro decks because every other type has either branded fusion or voiceless in general to change how to summon the cards or like xyzs and links have way more lax restrictions on how the decks need to be designed

Just a reminder that Alex Jones was a local Austin joke, and due to that was able to get more traction and would still be an issue if not for a few big misteps he made. It's also how Trump got absurd amounts of free air time in the 2016 election. Giving the "Woke" video games list air time just to laugh at at isn't the best idea.

Missed that part of the podcast but I've seen some similar examples before (like shouting for diversity on a "Team" with a notable lack thereof). It is what it is.
The parents are at fault a lot of the time when it comes to stuff like this. Parents should be involved with their kids at about 80-90 percent of a childs life, no exceptions. If you do not know what games they are playing, what kind of people they talk to, and what kind of websites they are browsing, then you do not know enough about your own kid and you are not parenting well.
I am not saying parents need to jail their children, i just think the parents should set boundaries for whats right morally speaking. As a kid, ive messed around and i turned out fine, but things have changed and companies are trying to exploit early brain chemistry and development for profit. A parent should help filter that, not let it happen because of ignorance and cluelessness.

What I hate is that you have a perfectly normal story and then you shove gay into it because diversity money/points. I hate it, it needs to die as a business practice and I would really much like to go back to focusing on telling a good story where Gay isn't the main selling point. There are games that cater to that but most people don't connect with it. I hate it extremely much when TV shows do that as well, you have perfectly good characters and all of a sudden you turn them gay because reasons!?
