Yes
Alder has quite a few bug types (3 out of six), so technically we had half of a bug type champion.
If Steven and Iris are considered Steel- and Dragon-type champions respectively with only three Pokémon of such types in their primary matches, then Alder has what it takes to be a Bug-type champion with Accelgor, Escavalier and Volcarona (plus a Bouffalant with Megahorn)

You should do more “Type: Then Vs Now.” Maybe of the Psychic type because it was incredible and now it is just good
Me too but in alphabetical order
I agree that this could be a good series for Pokémon types and maybe moves as well.
i would love it. but i personnaly would like 2 know more about the steel type introduction in the game and it's changes for gen 6
@@kovi2772 Here's the basic gist. Steel type was strange because people were at first like "Wow it's so overpowered" then people were like "wow... this sucks" because steel didn't get great steel moves... and it was hardly good against anything, and the high threats in gen 2 gameplay (fire and fighting) made quick work of it, especially since all steel types had low special defense, a fire move even without stab bonus would just wreck it.
People just thought "Look at normal pokemon not touching me. OH what's this? NO POISON!! Screw your Toxic strategies!!"
... and then the good players came and ruined all perspectives on it.
Skarmory was considered at least decent not because of steel typing, but because of stats and flying made it not get wrecked at least by fighting pokemon. (oh, doesn't anyone remember how much Heracross was hated at tournaments in gen2 days? Again, it was the same thing. People thought Heracross sucked. Until someone started beating most of the first wave meta game with a BUG/FIGHTING pokemon to ruin the psychic, ice, steel types that were used at first.
It sort of reminds me of Gen1 persian... everyone hated it... until someone started using it in tournaments to bubblebeam a switched in Rydon/Golem for a 1hko or a 2hko at worst.(people didn't know about it's movepool nor that with its high speed and high special stat it was ridiculously powerful)
But that's every generation, you have an initial wave of what people think are OP, and then you get the overlooked pokemon that has ridiculous counterplay and then cements itself as not just being counterplay, but just OP in general.
Steel type has only seen a resurgence due to Fairy's inclusion because Fairy has only poison and Steel as a weakness.
Poison and steel both have awful offensive capabilities though, but are considered decent for defensive matchups.... except again, that whole steel is weak to fire/fighting... poison being weak to ground/psychic isn't seen as that bad anymore because those two types have gained numerous types to match up against it.
but because fairy is as powerful as it is currently, you still are going to want a poison or a steel user. LUCKILY most poison and steel types are dual typed. (honestly a shame that there's not a steel/poison pokemon like Tetanus the pokemon cause that would cover a lot of it's meta gameplay matchups)
But now the new psychic move expanding force is really used in competitive play so maybe psychic now is not as good as before but still really reliable

You know, a way to potentially boost tbe viability of X-Scissor and diferenciate it from Lunge and Leech life seems quite simple to me:
*High critical-hit ratio*
As most slashing attacks have, just boost it to have 12,5% crit chance, it can continue being just 80 base power.
for awhile I thought it did boost crit, it would make so much sense
i thought X-scissor was like fury cutter
Apparently this happened in Pokémon Legends: Arceus.
I think it will be better if it had 100 base power 100 accuracy so the other moves will still be used but it also gives it a reason to be used
I mean, you could even drop the base power to 70, so it's the same power as all the other slashing moves. But i bet it would still get used because of its high critical hit chance.
Honestly, I'm surprised that hasn't happened yet

@@NoobyPlayzYT u high?I mean he looks cool but....
Good thing the flareon doesn’t have flash fire.
@@NoobyPlayzYT The joke is because flareon's movepool has rendered it completely useless in tournament play ever since Gen1. Even in the gens where fire was actually useful due to steel/ice/grass types that also didn't have a secondary typing that resisted fire (think most ice pokemon used to have a water typing too. Now we see a lot of just Ice types. Or Ice + something that isn't water).
But flareon lacked the stats to make it worth using even without the moves. So, it could use flamethrower. Big woopdeewoop. So can any other fire pokemon that beat it in every stat (Cough arcanine). It lacked support moves to use it in any other format that isn't 1v1 (cough, arcanine, ponyta, ninetails). It also just lacked any ability TO be used for a strategy even in 1v1.

U-Turn isn’t just good because it deals damage while pivoting (it’s admittedly only a small part of it), but because it happens during the turn. This allows you to react to any potential switches and put in a check or counter to whag they switched into, which is why it’s incredible on something that forces switches like Genesect and Landorus-T. A slow U-Turn user like Incineroar can let you get something in safely as you tank the attack and then switch. The damage thing is notable as well on fast U-Turn users just because you deal damage and then can switch something in to take a hit better, but that’s only a tiny portion of why it’s good.
And also that no type or ability is immune to Bug, which means it cannot be blocked like Volt Switch can.

I've loved bug types since my shiny Scolipede. Then I gained even more appreciation for it with Guzma's whole thing of going from a child who only ever got third place at best to a force to be reckoned with, similar to the Bug type's changes over the years. Then I decided it was my favorite type when I got Fimbul the Frosmoth (named after Fimbulwinter, which started Ragnorok) and Surt the Centiskorch (named after a giant with a fiery sword who battled during Ragnorok).
Bugs should also be strong against Fairy. It would balance some things out I think.
Good naming inspiration.

Bug is one of my favourite types
The thumbnail be like:
You vs the Guy she tells you not to worry about.
It's interesting Bugs were so weak considering the initial Pokemon games were made primarily out of love for insects, and since many members of Game Freak were (and still are) konchu-shonen. Though you could say starting out weak and growing into something splendid is the very definition of the Japanese appreciation for mushi.
That being said it's odd the region based on France of all places only got one new Bug evolutionary line considering how revered French entomologist Jean-Henri Fabre and his book of insects are in Japan. You'd think Kalos would get some of the most varies and interesting Bug types they could come up with, but it's just Vivillon's line (though to be fair Vivillon is pretty cool).
People who are unimpressed by Vivillon rarely know how terrifyingly huge it is for a butterfly. Owning one would make me feel majestic and badass.
@@BrianStorm742 Funny thing is that Vivillon is genuinely viable in the Anything Goes tier in Gen 7 (which exists purely because of Mega Rayquaza).

Honestly the bug Pokémon in these later generation have been absolute fire. Scolipede, Genesect, Volcarona, Galvantula, Vikavolt, Ribombee, Golisopod, Araquanid, Orbeetle, and Centiskorch are all really strong and cool looking Pokémon, extreme improvements over the likes of butterfree
My favorite Pokémon ever is Scizor, and that was only gen 2
I genuinely believe every single Bug type Pokèmon except Orbeetle to be very good looking and well designed

Edit: also, I wanted to have a lot of different galar Pokemon in my play through of SWSH, corviknight, toxtricity, Drednaw, but orbeetle is the only one I kept on my team because it was so good against bede. Corviknight was taking up space in my party, and toxel is kinda useless until it evolves, and it was just taking too long for me.
Ikr I had a corviknight on almost every play through and last one was the most useful

I've never heard Mikey say something with so much passion -w-
Day 3: of asking Micky to talk about vespiquin and how heal order was removed randomly!?!😭😢😭
Well, not many people even use Vespiquen tho as how hard it is to get in Gen 4 other games are quite easy to get it
Micky? Isn't it Mikey 😂
Tavaria Blanton Just noticed it said that 😂
Wait, they removed Heal Order but left Vespiquen in??????
I’ll be honest, I didn’t even know heal order existed because I’ve never had, used, or really seen much of Vespiquen until gen 8.
I always thought that X-Scissor should have an increased crit chance. That way there would be a reason to use it over other bug moves.
In modern games (at least in legends arceus/arkoos) X-Scissor does have an increased crit rate. Unfortunately, I think Scarlet/Violet removed its increased crit rate
