One of the best survival tips for being attacked by a predator is to fight back. The big predators are at one of the most inefficient ends of the food chain so they don't want to waste energy killing something that's fighting back. They'll go for something else that's weak or young so they won't fight back as much
Ahh Leechlife, the move that spent 6 generations of pokemon as one of the weakest moves in the game and the bane of spelunkers running into countless zubats. To be changed in the 7th generation to become one of the best Bug-type and life stealing moves in the game because the big Musclesquito from another dimension wanted to use it and be effective.
It made X-Scissor completely irrelevant, so why not buff it by increasing its critical hit ratio? Many slashing moves have it and it would make it more viable than just Leech Life with no healing.
I assumed First Impression was that way because for most people, the first time they see a scary looking bug, they assume it's far more intimidating and scary than normal. Maybe the reason it gets a power boost is because of that?
4:30 Buizel learns Fury Cutter because it's a weasel, much like the Japanese mythical kamaitachi, a weasel-shaped wind spirit famous for surprise-attack slicing people with blades of sharp wind, which is also the inspiration (and Japanese name) for the move Razor Wind, which Buizel can also learn. Infestation could be psychically controlled particulates like the ones in Silver Wind. The signal of a leader insect could control the particulates as if they WERE insects.
Bug mouths are different from teeth. Fury cutter doesn't summon a sword. Bug Buzz is bug twerking, hyper voice is when you see a bug twerking. Megahorn uses the head horn, horn attack uses horns?
Think of leech life as being less related to the animals known as leeches, and more related to the act of leeching. It is a move that literally leeches life. Something many bugs do to eat, such as assassin bugs and all arachnids

8:23 this animation looked impressive until I realized it was a gray circle with a small bit of outline going around in a loop i love the little things like this
“Furry cutter”
Verlisify intensifies
0:31 did he just say Brazilian years?
He did, and from this day forward we found out the secret of all Brazilian people
Leeches are just Goth Worms
7:32 I think that infestation is basically: bug infinity energy broken up into tiny little specks that infect the opposing Pokémon; and because it's infinity energy, it can keep damaging the other pokémon.
i love the kokoro connect reference and how most animes just have that cicada sound like cmon, i've seen like a bunch of animes with the same god damn cicada sound. please stop ;-;
It's probably the sound their most common cicada species makes. There's only about 35 species in the cicada family in Japan apparently.
I appreciate the detail in adding shadow to the tree in the cicada scene.
I'd argue that bug type pokemon moves aren't nearly as bonkers as what real bugs can do in a lot of cases. Running so fast all your perceptive senses shut down, for instance.
Edit: Also I suing you because you said "plant spunk" with your out loud voice.
Now i am just imagining an ant in farmer attire playing a banjo.
As a dark type trainer, I find bug types a bit bothersome.
12:04 people call it steamroller. I call it ROADU ROLLA DA!
Infestation could be psychically controlled particulates like the ones in Silver Wind. The signal of a leader insect could control the particulates as if they WERE insects.
8:36 Jokes on you, I live in Provence (southeastern France) so I didn't need this example to know the pain of cicadas.
I live in Scarborough so, every summer I can sometimes hear the cicadas screeching like banshees when I go outside to do errands
"Bugs are icky"
Well that's just mean. Bugs are cool, and cute.
I should be rewarded for being able to watch this video while eating
Bug bite v bite
Fury cutter v cut
Bug buzz v hyper voice
Megahorn v horn attack
???
I want answers, Pokemon
gotta get that sTaB bonus
Gotta improvise otherwise bug types will have no moves
Bug mouths are different from teeth.
Fury cutter doesn't summon a sword.
Bug Buzz is bug twerking, hyper voice is when you see a bug twerking.
Megahorn uses the head horn, horn attack uses horns?
"especially when you disregard butterflies and focus on the moths" had me laughing, I LOVE moths
snails aren't bugs
Now we know who the bug trainer is.
Americans can't understand science, they still think that the earth is flat afterall.
Think of leech life as being less related to the animals known as leeches, and more related to the act of leeching. It is a move that literally leeches life. Something many bugs do to eat, such as assassin bugs and all arachnids
