What does “camp” mean bc to me it’s sleeping in a tent, not showering and wearing comfy clothes, and that’s not what the met gala celebrities looked like. Every time you say camp I get more and more confused

It’s so reassuring to see people agree that it was almost disrespectful to show up off theme. What also bothered me was those who did Camp but still tried to look pretty, but that’s not Camp. You can be pretty any other night. DRESS THE THEME.

I dont think you had to dress "ugly" or "not pretty" to be "camp". There were many people who were very on theme and looked beautiful. Camp is supposed to be abnormal, shocking, unnatural, over the top, it's supposed to make you say woooaahh and ohhhhhh!? If that makes sense. It doesnt have be be tacky and ugly to be camp.
You can definitely look pretty when doing camp, camp doesn't mean over the top all the time. Camp is a point of view, you can be campy and elegant&classy. You don't have to dress as a burger.

The best part of Lady Gaga’s outfits was the performative aspect of taking one off, revealing another, pining for the cameras, and she had different props such as a wagon and an entourage holding umbrellas. The performative aspect was camp, not only her outfit.

Such accurate on point critiques. I would love to know what you thought of Lily Collins' look. One of my favourites, she always delivers for the Met. Also of all the Riverdale kids (why were they all there? That show is trash... but I still watch it every week...lol) I thought Madeleine Petsch did the best.

Y'all camp means EXTRA, ARTSY, CREATIVE. It's the most extra, funky, looks, that somehow look amazing. It's not hard.
This is the ONLY met gala review that was actually honest and explained why each look was/wasn't campy and for 98% of this video I AGREE with you. Please do more reviews, I fully trust and understand your sense and passion for fasion
