So, after countless "stiff" videos, I found one that just does the job, and confirmed that it's not so technical. I've done two "homemade" myself, but this time I bought and extending one with a base that needs to be put in the ground first, like yours'. I'm going to add pea gravel at the base for water draining because I live in the Northeast and water will freeze in the winter. Anyway, great video, and what a handsome young man, just like his Dad. Thanks for the video!
Great video! Thank you for it, it helped me make up my mind to see which company by the flag pole from and how to put it together. Today I finished setting it up and put the flags up (USA flag and USMC flag) and it is looking good!! Nice to see how you and your son work together on this as well. Thanks again! 😊

I love it! My flag pole is 25 feet, but it isn't telescoping. It has a rope for raising and lowering the flag, but I leave it up 24/7. I have a solar floodlight that keeps it lit at night.
Great video. Love how you are with your son. That flag pole is awesome, I have a UK flag but no flag pole at the moment. I was reading up on the law in the UK with flags, I believe they have to be a certain height and also if we put the little flags on cars they cant be no bigger than A4 size which is 11 and a half inches by 8 and a half. Any bigger we can get fined. xx
I just received my 25' DELTA PIN-LOCK TELESCOPING FLAG POLE KIT "FREEDOM EDITION" BLACK. I'm pleased with the 11 gauge aluminum and looks. The flag itself was a cheaper printed version, so I'm replacing it with a 3'x5' embroidered stars and stitched stripes flag. I like this flagpole because it's a telescoping and stainless pin locking system, and you can fly 2 flags. Great video of you and your son. Thanks for sharing your experience. "YEP" lol
@@HiddenOaksHomestead Did you buy your solar light from Service First? If so, are you satisfied with the illumination of your flag? Is it bright enough to light it up well? Do you know how many lumens it is? Thanks!

@@HiddenOaksHomestead is it fairy easy after a year to bring it up and down? Does the 360 work well in windy conditions to keep the flag from wrangling up? Thanks for sharing
it's about 4" PVC. I like it because the flag itself isnt cemented in, so if we have bad weather I can completely remove the flagpole and bring it inside.
Never over hand tight the flag pole. If your telescopic Flag pole gets stuck? Pour water down into the joint to loosen up, of the dirt and sand in the joint 👉👉 WORKS EVERY TIME! with a band jar opener to. Then hand tight only ! 👍👍
I think that might be the difference between old glory/service first. The service first poles are manufactured overseas, slightly thinner 11ga vs 10ga, a plastic sleeve vs aluminum but they're also half the price. Currently $180 for a 25ft kit with 3x5 flag, old glory comes with no flag and for their sectional 23ft (slightly smaller 2.75" diameter vs 3" service first) is $360.

I love the flag pole also try to stay dry I'm guessing that it has been as wet out in west Florida as it has here in the big bend area

How do you fly it at half mast?
You're unable to. But you can lower the pole

Its going strong. We've had no issues. We simply bring the pole down for severe weather. It's been great
@@HiddenOaksHomestead is it fairy easy after a year to bring it up and down? Does the 360 work well in windy conditions to keep the flag from wrangling up? Thanks for sharing
How is it holding up? What prevents the poles from sliding down, just those press in clips?
it's doing great, it uses spring loaded buttons to lock it in place.
How has it held up? Still good?
I've had to replace the flag, but the pole is doing great!
The 100 mph wind rating scares me. I live in the mountains and we get bad storms and the wind exceeds100 sometimes.
We bring it down for high winds
Wind? It wobbles just raising it. How does it do in high wind?
during high winds or storms I can lower it or completely take it down and put it in my garage.
@@HiddenOaksHomestead thanks. I'm thinking solid pole. It gets really windy where we're at. Undecided.
Great 👍
🇺🇸🇺🇸
I don't understand what the screws and bushings are for
Hmmm
Should you have taped up the sleeve hole so no wet cement falls in it.
Definitely would have been a good idea
How deep does the whole need to be for a flagpole? 🤔
I think we went down about 18".
The American Legion will property dispose of your old flags. I save them up and take them down to the American Legion. 👍👍
I saw this flagpole company through Facebook and my question to you is what was the pipe you mounted into the cement? Size and material? Thanks
it's about 4" PVC. I like it because the flag itself isnt cemented in, so if we have bad weather I can completely remove the flagpole and bring it inside.
How is it at night?
It has a nice low glow. Nothing overpowering, but enough to see the flag.
