Started at 0.25 for 4 weeks then increased 0.5 for 4 weeks. Now at 1. No side effects aside from constipation. Doing compound with B12. I am under the care of a PA who specializes in nutrition. So watching the diet and exercise. Weight is coming off very slow!
Healthy weight loss is 3-4 lbs per week. The body can go plateaued in that case ask the doctor’s advise. Health history is very important the major fact that some lose quick than the others.
I'm educated and not easy influenced. Medication usually does for me mostly "nothing" or it works much better than it should (ADHD brain). Very seldom in between. I started last week "by accident" with 1/3 (!) of the dose (wanted to start with a half dosage). It works for me. It's unbelievable. Side effects: Dry mouth, light headache, feeling a little icky in the stomach, but none of it was bad. No hunger, no appetite, after 2-3 days my stomach never felt better (usually the whole tract gurgles after every meal), it reduced the lymphatic water (having lipodema), blood oxygen seems to be getting better. I can't believe it...
Just received my semaglutide in the mail - looking forward to starting on this journey. Appreciate that you and my primary seem to be in step with one another - she wants me to do 0.25mg for 4 weeks, then up to 0.5 after that.
@@RBNnina I was on 0.25 for 4, then 0.5 for 4...now I was on 1mg for 8 weeks and I just bumped to 1.5mg this week. Worth mention I'm also exploring cagrilintide at it's lowest dose as a stack - and it has flat our MURDERED food noise. Sema is great for me metabolically at this dose...but the cagril REALLY shuts off the food noise in a big way.
@@GeekyMitch wow ! Thank u so much. This gives me great insight. I’ve heard of cagrlintide but don’t know much about it. Sending good vibes 🙌🏽to u & your journey
Regular doctors do the same when I had insurance I went up to fast and had side effects I had to tell them to let me stay at a some doses for a couple months. But it was similar weight loss Zepbound, but I switched to compound Tirzepitide less side effects, now I switched to Compound Semiglutide. This being over course of time of course, I am starting lowest dose Semiglutide.
Great pointers! Slowly increasing dosage and dealing with side effects if any before going all out and getting discouraged that it doesn’t work. I have seen and talked to people that constantly trying to change between brands and dosages . I wonder if their prescribers not taking time with their patients and teaching them. Knowledge is a big part of success then having to to use your body like a experiment. Or be your own advocate because your inpatient.
How about Tirzepatide dose? I was on Ozempic for over 14 months and only lost 24lbs. I now am on compound and just my 2nd week. I hope this works better. I am a diabetic, but my ins doesn't cover Mounjaro.
That seems to be my track record on any diet I have done so it's my biggest fear. (Aside from bad side effects)... I'm not starting mine till I have one more meeting with my doctor to go over all of these things so that I can start out more confident.
I am going to low dose right off the bat. Today, I will take 3 units instead of 5 (5 units equals: .25 Ozempic dose) and only going up to .25. I only need to loose 20lbs. Or maybe split the .25 in two shots, I will see.
Is anyone on here actually diabetic and obese? With multiple auto-immune diseases and hypersensitivity to meds and high blood pressure??? Or any of those? I have watched so many excellent videos Dr Stirrett's as well.. but no one is mentioning any of those health issues. Where are all of the videos have been helpful, I think Dr Stewart's has been the most helpful in short order! Thanks ahead of time for your answers, and I value all of them!
My Dr. prescribed Ozempic for diabetes, but I am obese as well. In my situation, one of my other diabetic medications was causing constant sugar lows, which in turn caused me to eat more to pull out of the sugar low - thus the obesity. He simultaneously took me off of that medication and put me on the 0.25 mg dose of Ozempic. It was like someone turned on a switch. Within 24 hours, my blood sugar levels stabilized and my appetite dropped significantly. I moved to the 0.5 mg dose a month later, and my A1C has been between 6.4 and 6.8 since then. I've also lost 110 lbs. so far. My insulin usage has dropped about 90%. My Dr. just raised my dosage to 1 mg. and thinks I MAY be able to come totally off of the insulin after that. I also have sarcoidosis, so all this is being monitored by a rheumatologist as well.
Dr. Stirrett you are a master of information. I always find information on your site that none of the other Drs online discuss. Love your content. I have Hasimotos and type 2 Diabetes. My Dr. just prescribed Ozempic and never mentioned about how important it is to consume protein to avoid muscle wasting. Been on the Carnivore diet for 5 months before trying Ozempic. Trying to lower my A1c and reverse my Diabetes. Thanks again.
Thank You! This was very helpful. I haven’t started yet. I was very nervous because I have a lot of digestive issues to begin with. Like Gerd and diverticulitis. I am a nurse and was wondering if I would/could cut back the dose that they had prescribed to me from a compounding Pharmacy. which is 2.5mg/ 100mcg B per 1ml dose as you described in the video. I will also discuss this with my endocrinologist this week.
@@Smag-wm4bx I agree. I now know a micro dose is somewhere starting at 5 units on insulin syringe. I had queeziness on 10 units. Great relief with joint pain and stiffness. Fabulous stuff :)
@@Smag-wm4bx My question now is how long does the glp-1 last in the fridge. I have A 1cc vial which will last significantly longer than the one month expiration date on the vial if I low dose at 5 units a week.
@@sharonrush4344 now that I don't know & guess I should figure out Because last night I micro doses w. 6units of the stacked Cangil/Sema after throwing up with 12units last wk. Ugh it still giving me the quezzy nasea feeling today with just 6units. Maybe next wk it'll be 4units. I don't mind going low & slow. So it will take over a month possibly 2, to get through the dosing.
@dr.stirrett do you recommend injecting every 4 days even after the first month? Regardless of the dosage amount? Say I want to start at .25mg for the first month and instead of weekly I inject every 4 days. Then month #2 I increase to .5mg… would you say it’s better to still inject every 4 days vs. every 7 days? As I increase dosage each month, and so on…?
Also to add to my previous question -- nothing has been said about taking insulins along with this if you're diabetic. I take toujeo daily and trulicity 1X per week with diarrhea already. 😢
That's really something you need to work with your doctor to coordinate. Set up a visit to go over your dosages on each and make sure you have your blood sugar monitor with you so the dr. can see your patterns. The dosages will need to be adjusted based on that.
I’ve been doing a lot of reading up on this stuff and most sources are saying it takes up to a month for your body to adjust and begin to notice any significant changes. Don’t get discouraged, month 2 is where the pounds start to shed
hi doctor, I have a quick question I am not diabetic. I use Ozempic for weight loss for couple months very low dose 0.25 I lost 10 pound I am weightlifting. I exercise four times a week. now my weight loss stop I want to lose at least five more pounds for my goal. Do you have any idea? Can I inquire my doses? To get to my weight loss goal? Thanks would love to know if this is ok to start. Im usually sensitive to meds.
That’s 2.5 mg of sema in the entire bottle. A single dose should be .25 mg. So the bottle would have multiple doses of .25mg. You’re not injecting the entire bottle in one single dose lol make sense now?

Why can’t anyone indicate the # of units on a syringe?
Because it’s compounded in different vial sizes. You have to use a calculator for your own dose.

What about oral semaglutide pills?. It comes in 3mg per tablet
If you have pre filled syringes of 0.5mg from the supplier, can you use that same needle twice if you wipe it with alcohol swab?
Ideally no, add there's a risk of infection. Any pharmacy sells needles so I suggest taking an empty to your local pharmacy to see if they have them
