This ginger woman wrote a book on West Wemyss ; check it out at your library for your return visit it's called West Wemyss A Village Tale . Pre - dates the interpretation boards and the museum . Available in the Kirkcaldy Library reference room .

the fake windows were because they used to tax you on how many windows you had so some were blocked up and painted to look like windows

The fake windows seen in this video are because the building part of the hotel which is closed and abandoned. The wemyss estate installs fake window boards when their buildings are left empty or abandoned.
