They’ve already been on tour with Dragonforce in the UK back in 2019. Herman Li actual is a fan of them and invited LOVEBITES in person. There are videos on YT, also on Dragonforce channel, both bands together on stage. In one of those Herman is announced as missing sixth member of LOVEBITES and is wearing a white dress what is there typical stage outfit.
But LOVEBITES influences go back to the eighties: Iron Maiden, Helloween, Priest, Metallica, Slayer, … and also Gary Moore, Nuno Bettencourt, Jennifer Batten, … and classical composers like Chopin and Rachmaninov.

Lovebites are another jewel in the treasure chest that is female or female-led Japanese Rock and Metal bands, all of whom are making the very best music for the 21st century. Lovebites, Band-Maid, Babymetal, Nemophila, Asterism, Hanabie...to name a few of the brightest jewels in the box. Oh, and Lovebites live will amaze you as they're even more impressive than in this superb MV. "Stand And Deliver (Shoot 'Em Down)" is really an unusual choice for the first encounter! LOVEBITES can play very different genres, this is more the Motörhead direction.
A more classical first song would be "Holy War". That song shows roughly their capabilities... definitely live! (Live @Zepp DiverCity, Tokyo, 2020)

LOVEBITES are one of the most musically talented (arguably THE most musically talented) metal group in the world. They have about 60 original songs in their catalogue, none of which are bad, and some of which are legitimate masterpieces. Why this band isn't world famous (yet) is beyond me. drummer haruna - aka the little big engine - is an absolute beast. topping out at 4 ft. 9 in. she is a non stop powerhouse and her double kicks, amazing fills and cymbal work sets her apart from many drummers. i also love her use of the ice bell. she works it to perfection. what song next ? any and all. one of the very few bands i've heard with NO bad songs. pick one - any one.

Haruna is a master of the use of the bell and as much cymbal work as a song can handle. In this note on the long stand and Deliver she changes every other go around for 3 changes. She does that a lot. IMHO The suggested Swan Song is an epic from Haruna but you may not catch her shifts as there is so much else going on in every LoveBites song.

Great reaction. They say this particular song has Motorhead vibes but the most influences are from Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Metallica, Slayer, and some from Helloween and Dragonforce, but much heavier and chunckier than Dragonforce. They are quickly establishing their own style now just like all the great bands did. They have been mainly in power/thrash subgenre but now they are playing something like heavy power symphonic sound. They are playing like an orchestra with some backing tracks to have extra thickness from extra layers.

【From an interview with Asami(Vo) and Fami(Ba) for a magazine project in Japan】
When Covid19 subsided and the audience was able to speak up, Asami thought it would be nice to have a song that everyone could sing, both on stage and in the audience.
Asami wanted to use the sound of "river" in the lyrics, but thought it would be strange to use "river" as the chorus.
Asami found "deliver" and thought it would be cool if everyone shouted it out instead of just telling what the word means.
For many Japanese, pronouncing and hearing the English "r" and "l" is difficult.
From there, Asami arrived at "stand and deliver.
"Stand and deliver" is a pirate term that apparently means "Leave all your money!"
Asami thought that if he wrote the lyrics as they were, it would be a song about a "pirate king.
Asami wanted to avoid that.
Asami learned that "deliver" can also mean "to carry out" or "to be free" in addition to "to deliver.
Asami uses "Stand and deliver" with the following interpretation and meaning.
Stand up and be free!
Rise up and be free!
Arise and be free!
Let's get up and be free!
From there, Asami put the following thoughts into the lyrics.

And here some background:
The band is around since 2016 and released their first EP and album in 2017. At this point they have 4 albums, some Singles/EPs and also a bunch of live DVD/Blu-ray releases.
LOVEBITES have already toured in Europe back in 2018/2019, including the major metal festivals as Wacken, Download, Bloodstock, Graspop. In 2018 they also won the Metal Hammer Golden Gods Award for best new band.
Then came Covid, their original bass player and founder Miho quit the band for personal reasons and two babies were born. After that LOVEBITES came back with new bassist and new song „Judgement Day“ in late 2022. New album with the same title came out in February 2023.
LOVEBITES finished touring in Japan a couple of weeks ago. Earlier this year in march they played their comeback show. This was their first live gig since 2021 and first show with their new bassist Fami. There are 4 videos on their YT channel from this show. I suggest „The hammer of wrath“ the first song of this concert for a next reaction.

As a drummer I think you'll appreciate Haruna who uses an Economy of Motion technique. Notice that she doesn't do a lot of arm movements like many drummers. Or for some, whale wildly as their style. Her arms tend to be bent and closer to her body. Its mostly compact and efficient. Maybe because she is so short but who knows. Her style is most notable in Lovebites faster tempo Power/Speed/Thrashier songs.
As a comparison to other Japanese female drummers, look at Akane Hirose from Band-Maid, Tamu Murata from Nemophila, Nao from Maximum the Hormone, Miki Tsunoda from Show-Ya, Senri Kawaguchi, Nagisa from Trident, Junna formerly of Trident, Marina Bozzio (daughter of Terry Bozzio) from Aldius, Rina Suzuki from SCANDAL, Kanade Sato, Hana & Yuri from Gacharic Spin, etc. Have your pick because many Japanese muscians on average have exceptional technical skills. The women are no exception. Japan has more all-female bands in any genre by the numbers and per capita than any nation in the world. Some of the all-female bands I previously mentioned will be incoming as more popular suggestions from other fans. Nemophila and Hanabie being 2 of them.
