What we have here is a 21st Century violinist playing music written in the 20th Century by a guitarist whose style was informed by the works of a 19th Century violinist.
I acutally read somewhere that Ygnwie was impressed by this cover, which is high praise. This is technically by Quadratum, a subgroup they created of Unlucky Morpheus a couple of years ago without both vocalists (and original members). They released one cover album as quadratum and all of the tracks are amazing. The tracklist of the Quadratum album: 1. Far Beyond The Sun (by Yngwie Malmsteen) 2. The Dance Of Eternity (by Dream Theater) 3. Into The Arena (by The Michael Schenker Group) 4. Hundreds Of Thousands (by Tony MacAlpine) 5. Scarified (by Racer X) 6. Eruption (by Van Halen) 7. For The Love Of God (by Steve Vai) 8. Technical Difficulties (by Racer X) 9. 17th Century Chicken Pickin' (by Impellitteri) They played both Eruption and The Dance Of Eternity back to back live a while ago, you can find the live video on their channel. They also did both of them (like this one) in a music video, which is great, but I personally prefer to see them play it live. Jill (the violin player) shines in all of these, but like you said all of the other musicians are amazing as well. The Steve Vai cover is great as well, but to be fair I love the whole thing even the tracks I wasn't familiar with.
I LOVE this cover! Actually the violin 🎻 fits Yngwie's style as he was classically trained on violin so that is how he wrote a lot of his guitar 🎸 riffs
